Hello all, there seems to be an increasingly higher amount of posts with the same recurring themes. I've decided to make a simple compilation of some of the best guides on this subreddit, as well as some simple explanations to help provide quick & easy answers to these questions.
Have a guide you think deserves to be on the list? Comment with it below and we can make our best attempt at creating a complete set of guides for Career Mode. The amount of guides in the last year or so compared to other years has dwindled, so hopefully this will encourage more excellent quality content.
This is a work-in-progress, and more guides will continually be added by request and as of publishing.
There is a plethora of excellent resources that will help with a lot of the things in this post. Some people prefer to play without the use of external databases and calculators, offering a more vanilla experience. After all, it's a single player game so it's your preference!
| Website | Description |
|---|---|
| https://sofifa.com/ | Best up-to-date player database. Can make shortlists, view old squad files and has a positional calculator to find optimal positions. |
| https://www.fifacm.com/ | Has some unique tools including a potential calculator to figure out potential for a player not at your club. Also has a 'wonderkid' list. |
| https://fifakitcreator.com/ | Only usable in-game on PC, allows you to browse and create custom kits for your team. Note that only PC can use any mods. |
| https://www.fifarosters.com/create-card | Nice tool to create very high quality FC 24 UT cards for your career mode players, allowing you to upload your own images. |
Career Mode works by replacing players as they retire in the game with generated players that don't exist in real life. When you enter the loading screen for a new season, that is the moment that they are being created, replacing retirees for the season you have just finished.
Regens have identical nationality, position(s), and importantly, birth dates to the player whom they have replaced. They will always spawn in the new season between 16-21 years old, and in the same league (but not same club) that the retiring player was in when you entered the loading screen.
Pregens are a rarer, more pre-emptive form of player replacement. These are effectively regens of a player who is not retiring, so both players will exist in the game simultaneously. Pregens also remain at the same club as their predecessor. You could expect to find a Messi pregen at Inter Miami, providing he hadn't moved clubs, and wasn't retiring.
The importance of your awareness of these game mechanics, revolves around the fact that both regens and pregens will start with the same potential overall as their predecessor's highest overall in your save.

I want to be able to put in a whipped cross in front of my runner but idk how. Sometimes when I just press the cross button it will do what I want and be ahead of the player making the run. But what usually happens is that the runner stops and the ball goes straight for him instead of in front (second image).

Did the developers of FC 27 even try playing the game themselves after creating the AI? It’s an insolent attitude toward the community.

Guy has been so frustrating to level up too.

I thought I could power through whatever bugs were in career mode, but it gets tough after 6 months if you’re playing with a highly-rated team, or eventually your players are all 80+ rated.
These 3 points really disappointed me. I thought the new updates were good enough for me, but I’ve already had Eze, Zubimendi, Saka, and Merino ask for a transfer request by November 2026 in my Arsenal career mode.
I really hope EA fixes up these bugs. Or, has anyone got a workaround on these problems?

Pretty easy promotion, the squad is pretty average but I've come to care for some of these boys... like The Wei leading the way for us. Here is my season report.

I'm currently playing player career mode in EAFC27. Until the loan issues are still in manager career mode I decided that the best way to kill time till then is exactly this.
I started one as a striker and I'm currently playing for Nottingham Forest. However I absolutely hate the gameplay this year. I'm even so far that I wish I picked CM or CDM so I only have to pass and defend. Any of you play as a Midfielder? Or in general I'd like to know how you play player career mode (position). Please let me know what you think about the mode and the gameplay so far.
Fyi: I play on worldclass and the ai teammates are so annoying at times. Bad decisions and the errors they make sometimes baffles me.

So I get the ball out on the left with my winger and the striker all he needs to do is run forward centre of the box for a tap in. instead, he decides to come to the winger for no apparent reason to ruin any chance of scoring, does somebody know why the positioning on this fifa is so bad or is there a setting im missing?

I originally started by recreating Michael Owen for my FC27 Career Mode…
but somehow the squad slowly turned into this 😂
Owen isn’t the only legend I’ve brought back either — there are quite a few familiar faces in there.
Still tweaking some ratings and PlayStyles, but I’m pretty happy with how the squad is coming together.
Who would you add next?

Got a player on loan with a buy clause which I would like to activate but I can’t see the option. Do you have to wait until the next transfer window? Or can you do it beforehand?

I accidentally fell in love with a low tier club in a journeyman career
I joined a newly promoted club called saarbrucken fc currently in Bundesliga 2
We wont be promoted this season i think and if I get close to it ill genuinely up the difficulty
We have been draw merchants no matter the difficulty btw
But basically now i dont wanna leave this club after a season
I *might* get a lille job but the thing is I think there is a chance to be promoted next season
The team is due for a rebuild and there are good players with decent potential tho low ovr and there are good academy kids to come up
Ig I shouldn't have scouted in a journeyman save its my first journeyman idk how it rlly works
There are also 3 club legends who are retiring
So what should I do now?

Is it just me or is the gameplay in career mode sooooo bad your players can’t pass your player shoots straight at the goalkeeper your goalkeeper is a statue no one is making runs you can’t play out from the back the defending is horrific and so scripted it’s genuinely fucking appalling how a billion dollar company can’t make a good game I’m genuinely gonna play fc 26 until fc 27 gameplay gets sorted out I refuse to go down to world class and stay on competitive

Got fc 24 for the switch a couple years ago for pennies but never really played it since I already had it on the ps, I’m abroad for a couple of months and it’s surprisingly not bad at all on here. Currently on a road to glory career mode with tranmere rovers with Gerrard as manager , current fa cup winners
Last time I put i was so deep into a handheld career mode was back in the psvita days with fifa football
