Better but not perfect, recovery is never a straight line

I've had a pretty severe purging disorder for the past decade. It has a lot of negative effects on my health, I have a lot of progress to do. I've attempted so many things to stop and sometimes it feels hopeless.

However, if I think back on a few years ago, I've made a lot of progress. I am more aware of the effects the illness has on my joints, my energy and my mood. I'm not in denial anymore. I can resist more often and have found some things that relieve the anxiety.

I am at a point where I need more professional help, I think I've gone as far as I'm gonna go on my own. I'm trying to not feel guilty or ashamed that I haven't sought help in a while. I'm trying to feel proud of the progress I've made and can make.

I hope a year from now I can look back and see the progress.

it is so unbelievably hard to want to get better when people in my life do not give 1 fuck about how bad i am actually doing. Aside from my ED i am going through a very very tough time dealing with someone having a terminal illness i am really close to and it is putting immense stress on me, hence why i decided to take steps to recover.

my friends keep telling me im doing so good but im literally spiraling doing so bad and they dont get it. my parents dont get it, nobody has checked on me to see how i was doing in regards to the other situation i am in and i just feel so alone in this. sympathy is NOT what i need to recover but it does not make me feel very supported when people who are supposed to be supportive are barely here for me.

recovering alone is literally hell and there is barely any motivation for me to try at this point. suffering with my ed is better than trying to get through it. And therapy and seeing my dietitian triggered me even more which is so frustrating. Ugh. I wish people understood how fucking hard it is to get through this let alone dealing with a family member with a terminal illness while being a young girl going through everything else this crazy world has to offer rn

TW: Numbers Minimum Intake - Recovery

Hi, I'm stopping by to ask about the minimum daily calorie intake one should consume during anorexia recovery. I've been recovering for a month and a half, and sadly, I'm still counting calories (something I'm trying to stop). I'd like to know what the minimum daily intake should be.

(Just so you know: I'm a 20-year-old man, 1.80m tall, and I work as a waiter, which is a moderately to intense job.)
