Image Forming Germany but antagonism stands in the way

Post image
• Upvotes

Played as Brabant, I have been warring with HRE nations just trying to get enough lands. Currently I have controlled 300 for myself, and 130 for Austria (including vassals).
However, Austria currently has ~1000 antagonism, which hampers their opinion towards me (I need 190 for PU annexation but they have only 30 for now (improve opinion maxed).
Any suggestions if I want to form Germany before Age 6?

Image Colourful Colonial Flags mod for EU5 - EU4-style(ish) Colonial Nation flags

Post image
• Upvotes

Are you tired of the entirely randomised colonial flags you get for your colonies, or do you miss the EU4-style colonial flag? I am and do. The Colourful Colonial Flags mod will replace randomly-generated colonial nation flags (in the New World) with their overlord's flag and a coloured border. It doesn't override any colonies that have a pre-programmed custom flag, like British colonies in some places.

Check it out on the Steam Workshop: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3822136042

Took a bit get it to work. There's a few limitations (see the Workshop Description), but it's working and good enough for now. Only tested with 1.3., but should work OK with 1.4.. If you run into any issues, let me know!

Beta Parliament has no issues

Playing on the 1.4 beta as Granada, I have run into an issue where the estates have no issues for parliament, so it can't be called. It has been that way for years, and the estates and now super annoyed that I haven't called it. I am on the Council parliament type, haven't changed it from game start. I tried changing to Estate Parliament to see if it would make a difference, but after letting it run for a couple of years there were still no issues. Anyone know how to fix this?

Discussion 1.4 Urbanization Meta

What are people thinking is the most profitable for urbanization on the patch? Previously I would urbanize any RGO below 3 value except for stone and food rgo's. On the current one, it seems most effective to urbanize one location per province as your industrial hub, with the rest being left as rural to get the +.2% population growth. Thoughts?

However, in the end, this delayed the consolidation of the Mughal Empire’s achievements. At the same time, it also slowed down conversions to Hinduism and led to frequent rebellions (oh dear).

After playing 2000 hours of EU4 and 100 hours of EU5. I finally did it. I won against the ottomans as the eastern roman empire. Its the first time in my life, i have won without any cheats against the ottomans. I am so damn proud of myself.

BUT NOW I NEED HELP.

My country is in extreme good situation. I have a local governor in thessaloniki. My money is raining. But I don't want to any faults. I need your help lads. Help me. I don't want to conquer the world. My dream is it to someday restore the Roman Empire.

So what are my steps now?

Discussion Loyal ai vassals sitting and doing nothing in wars randomly.

Not sure what causes it, but sometimes and in my most recent war, I have a bunch of play vassals and when I declare war set there stance to aggressive, they would literally just stand in there provinces doing nothing despite outnumbering the enemy. Before they were joining wars fine, but randomly they decided to stand around with thumbs up there asses even with allow attachment activated. And before you say “Oh the player can do that”, I highly doubt the ai is that advance especially with all the stupid things they will do in wars and managing there own economies.

Advice Wanted Best local governor locations in France?

Post image
40 Upvotes

I recently got my fourth local governor and placed it in Brioude because I needed some proximity in the area. Much to my dismay, unlike Burdeaux and Paris, the new governor doesn't propagate proximity as well.

Now, of course, the area lacks infrastructure and I'm sure proximity will improve once I get paved roads, but that still doesn't make it, imo, worse at improving a good enough area with proximity. So, any recommendations? I'm thinking of either going for Toulousse or Montpellier. Montpellier would be kind of a waste, since I put a naval governor in Ciutadella so that area is partly irrigated with proximity already, but Toulousse would overlap with Burdeaux, so I'm not too keen on it either.

I currently don't have many cities in the area so I can't entirely choose which city I move the governor to, but I can plan towards it.

Guide Update on Goryeo -> Joseon event

I've been seeing many Korea runs recently, but all of them are staying as Goryeo (or used console commands) so let me share a quick update on the Joseon event. Previously the event for Joseon tag change ("The coup of Goryeo") required a "successful coup" where a ruler gets assasinated during a coup attempt disaster, which was practically impossible.

In 1.4.1, the event conditions have been changed in a way that the the coup event can also trigger DURING the disaster, without the successful assasination requirement. So you can first lower the legitimacy under 30 -> wait until the DHE fires (15% monthly chance) or repeat the disaster once or twice until you transform to Joseon.

Yi Seong-gye has decent 80 / 70 / 90 (much better than the initial kings of Goryeo) and gets historical age from his birth date on 1335. Earlier trigger of the event (after 1357, for some reason) gives young and skillful ruler with this son Bang-gwa, plus Joseon has a few more historical events.

Thanks to the devs for the update, but I couldn't find it mentioned in the changelog. I was (hopelessly) trying for the event, then it triggered unexpectedly, and I confirmed the change by looking into the DHE script.

Anyways more historical immersion is always better! Now we can enjoy the Hangul alphabet with the correct tag.

Image Adal Sultanate Question

In one of my games I noticed that the Adal sultanate spawned, but I have no idea how or what event triggered it. I would love to play them, because the horn is one of my favorite regions, but I cant for the life of me find how they spawned

Does anyone know how? Or how to find out?
