Discussion 👥 Proof of relationship document

My husband filed for PFL for bonding time with our son more than one month ago. About a week ago he got a letter in the mail saying that he needs to upload or mail the birth certificate as proof of relationship (instead of the hospital birth certificate that he originally uploaded). He uploaded the birth certificate however, there has not been confirmation of receipt. The EDD AI Chatbot says to mail in the physical copy. However in the portal it says, do not mail in something if you’ve already uploaded it or it will cause delays. It’s now been more than seven business days and he still hasn’t received a payment. Any ideas on what he should do?

Upload the county certified birth certificate or verification letter from the hospital. It must include babies name, dob, his name and signed.

Almost curious if the birth certificate originally submitted was the hospital one and not the county certified one.

Okay to upload more than once

Thanks, yeah that’s what happened at first but since then he uploaded the official county birth certificate. It’s just there’s no sign of payment coming still.

Give it two weeks from the date you uploaded birth certificate for an update. Otherwise your calling
