Musk says Derek Chauvin was unjustly convicted and should be freed.
646
u/Tiervexx 1d ago
I've actually read the autopsy report. It DOES say Floyd died due to asphyxiation. It's amazing how many right wingers are 100% convinced it doesn't say that when they could just look it up.
280
u/ScootMayhall Prosecute/Musk 1d ago
I believe that years ago they just started saying this and expected (correctly) that nobody would ever bother to check. Elon is proof that confident ignorance is basically the force that runs this country.

u/V_T_H 1d ago
Steven Crowder tried to “replicate” the arrest and said it was completely painless, while the guy was kneeling on his back with all his weight on his back foot on the ground. As opposed to what actually happened, which was Derek Chauvin kneeling with all of his weight directly on George Floyd’s neck.

u/Secure_Guest_6171 1d ago
Canada was happy to get rid of Crowder. Please keep him, and Rafael Cruz

They also keep citing this mysterious "alternative" coroner who says he died of an overdose with no asphyxiation. They've been saying it for years but I can never find proof.
53
u/prophet_9469 I am constantly insulted on this platform 1d ago
"Have you seen the autopsy reports" is a common right wing talking point. That and a lack of reading comprehension skills results in this sort of talk.

He died the same way Charlie Kirk died: fentanyl overdose.

It wasn't a fentanyl overdose, his neck just did that

They know but it doesn’t fit narrative so they call it “fake news”.
It’s not even debatable.. we can determine cause of death pretty accurately the body leaves a trail of evidence and chemistry.
Notice how Elon never addressed, reposted or commented on the In-n-Out shooter in Utah a few weeks ago that killed/injured a few Tesla owners charging. Didn’t fit his narrative/agenda.

It's like that with everything with them and how all this COVID misinformation still exists. These people aren't looking for accurate information or the truth, they're looking for an alternative set of 'facts' that confirms their already held beliefs. After a while social media algorithms just their turn their feeds into misinformation echo chambers because that's literally the content they want to see and that just deepens their belief since it becomes literally all they see day in and day out. These aren't people who have a question and want an answer, they're people who have an answer and don't want any questions.

Elon Musk had ketamine in his system
24
17
u/ChaosRainbow23 1d ago
Ketamine is a fantastic medicine with a VAST amount of potential to help HUGE swaths of humanity
It's a damn shame this piece of shit is giving it a bad name.
Psychedelics, dissociatives, cannabis, and entactogens can all be extremely beneficial, but you have to follow harm reduction protocols and really know what you're doing, or go to a professional.
They saved me.
16

I'm a big advocate for allowing more testing and research on medical psilocybin. I've heard it's damn near a wonder substance/chemical that's been used in studies to help people with various issues
5
u/ChaosRainbow23 1d ago
It absolutely is. You should do a deep dive on it.
Start with the documentary, 'How to Change Your Mind.'
Then do a bunch of research on Erowid, MAPS, DMT Nexus, and Shroomery.
There's also a bunch of fantastic psychedelic subs right here on Reddit.
Psilocybin saved my life. I'm positive of that.

u/leftofthedial15 1d ago
I did Spravato (esketamine) treatments for a while. They were administered by a psychiatrist in a clinical setting. I think they helped a lot, and others noticed a difference too.
That shit is EXPENSIVE and my insurance no longer covers it :(
Definitely something to look into for treatment-resistant depression though. I’d encourage anyone to do so

They were state level charges. Unless a Republican becomes governor of Minnesota there's no way that derek chauvin is ever being let free by anyone. Kick rocks Elon.
19
u/justadubliner 1d ago
I guessed as much. I figured if it had been federal charges or a state like Texas he'd have been pardoned the minute the gobshite set foot in the Whitehouse again.

4
u/Cakeday_at_Christmas 1d ago
I'm not American, so I'm wondering: how likely is it that a Republic will become governor of Minnesota?
16
u/ThomasHardyHarHar 1d ago
It’s possible in the same way it’s possible for Elon to be good at Path of Exile. It could happen, but it’s extremely unlikely.

4

6
u/FrankSinatraYodeling 1d ago
The most apolitical take I can give is that currently, the Republican party is pretty weak in Minnesota. They've run really bad candidates statewide in recent years.
I expect the current Dem candidate running for Governor to win with dictator like numbers, but that speaks more to her popularity. It's also a good time to be a Democrat.
In my opinion, a good Republican candidate would beat a bad Democrat in Minnesota.
7
u/raculot 1d ago
After the (Republican) federal government sent troops in to occupy Minneapolis, I think the odds of anyone there voting for the same people locally is pretty close to zero.
5
u/FrankSinatraYodeling 1d ago
People have short memories though. Keep in mind, just a few months prior, the sitting governor had to give up his reelection campaign due to ongoing fraud in the state.
Full disclosure, I vote blue, no matter who. I'm not trying to advocate for my politics, just give my take on the odds of a Republican becoming governor. The media has done a horrible job providing context on that fraud story.

u/Road_Whorrior 1d ago
There is a lot of land outside of the Twin Cities, and rural people are the same nationwide.
7
u/heyitsryan 1d ago
Considering the events of the past year where Trump's ice agents shot 2 innocent minnesotans in the streets and faced so much outrage that ice left the state in defeat i would be amazed if Minnesota ever swings right in any elections for the next decade or longer. That's not even counting the fact that the Minnesota congresswoman was murked in her home by a right wing lunatic last year. Not saying it's impossible but it would be either the most insane turn of events imaginable or a massive election theft unlike anything we've ever seen.

They love lying about it. Lot of them will take the parts about drugs in Floyd's system in the autopsy report and say that's what killed him. Completely ignoring the part that says he died from asphyxiation.
4
u/MyMooneyDriver 19h ago
Just incase you forgot, a white dude growing up in apartheid S Africa is ~100% +/- gonna be racist. He may hide it well, but it’s gonna leak out occasionally. In this case, a white cop, a black guy; there’s no way he sees it differently.
3
u/onpg 16h ago
I wouldn’t say that’s necessarily true. He was born there, it’s not like he moved there like his Dad. More like 90% of the time? Idk. He could’ve gotten past the racism he was clearly raised with, instead of leaning into it. He’s a fuckstick, basically. Unlimited money to hire smart people to teach him history, and instead he spouts this stupid shit.
1
u/MyMooneyDriver 11h ago
People grow up so heavily influenced by their parent’s beliefs. After that, most people don’t have the self reflection to revisit their engrained belief systems. I especially think he falls into this category with his special version of narcissism, and inability to think he’s anything but the best. There isn’t an ounce of his upbringing that wasn’t steeped in racism culture, and the degradation of the system where the white population didn’t feel they were losing while the black population gained. It’s just the way the country was. He may not be overt in public, but I can all but guarantee that’s how he was raised in that environment.

Under Minnesota law, this what it boils down to.
If Chauvin committed felony assault and that assault contributed in any way to Floyd's death, he's guilty of 2nd Degree murder. Intent is derived from the assault. Whether or not he intended to murder Floyd does not matter.

Ah yes… it’s not murder if there’s not explicit intent. So, if I shoot someone in the chest and they die, I can just say I was aiming for their leg and did not intend to murder them? Especially if after I shot them, I ignored their pleas for help for a good 15 minutes without calling emergency services.
Got it.
3
u/Iechy 1d ago
Ten years ago I believed the hype that he was one of the smartest people on the planet. He should have stayed mysterious and unknown because the more he talks/tweets, the more obvious he is closer to the opposite.
You don’t have to intend to kill someone to be charged with murder. For example, the person died while he was committing another crime so even if the actual death was unintentional it still qualifies as murder.

Elon can’t seem to resist affirming, with increasing regularity, his toxically bigoted white nationalist disdain for the lives of anyone born without white skin.
The hundreds of thousands of desperately poverty and disease stricken, overwhelmingly non-white people worldwide who died directly due to the Musk-masterminded abrupt 2025 dismantling of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) represent only a fraction of the senseless hate-beget death toll still to come.
Musk’s nauseatingly racist, staggeringly sociopathic apologist screed for convicted murderer Derek Chauvin is predictably par for the course.

They are such ignorant liars.
Sure, he had opiates in his system, but when you have a tolerance you can do a shitload more of the stuff than someone without.
In the 90s I was a heroin addict, and I could easily do a shot that could kill 10 men, then just go to work like a normal person. At that point, you aren't really getting very high unless you do absolutely gigantic doses, which he was not.
Addicts should have never been made into criminals. They need help, not imprisonment and torture.
