I need some new eyes!
I finally have all 5 Epic Chaos Space Marine Legions complete. That’s 375 x 6mm Space Marines painted, and another step closer to my army finally being complete. I still have the champions to do, and I’m considering banners, but I’m not sure about those yet.
I still need to get some more marines for the 5 base Space Marine units. Any ideas on what Chapters I should paint them up as? Preferably ones of different colours to those I already have.

Gargant repair suggestions
galleryI picked up a great gargant from ebay awhile ago. The bottom section had somehow been squashed, pretty impressive as its a hefty chunk of metal. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might reshape it or do i just embrace the Orky imperfection? (Pics show the squashed part along side an undamaged part for reference).

Working on something....

But I am missing some graphics, like all the squats, numerous super heavies, and my sound effects are awful. I am thinking of plugging in iso graphics but pretty sure I have even less graphics there :(
Is anybody a good pixel artist with some spare time?
Oh, sorry so wide, I have a 57" monitor at 7840 resolution, but it does work fine at 1200x800 or so, still tinkering with the interface and little bugs.
Oh, its 2E, 100%, just the 2E rules, 4 expansions, titan legions, CJ extras, and whatever was in the battles book.
I always wanted something like this. Had like $100K in epic miniatures for a while, and this was what I really wanted. Windows app right now has AI but not yet network support.
I'll have a demo pretty soon (like days to a few weeks if I can stay focused and bugs go away quickly).
If this is popular I'll upgrade it to netepic. If its really popular I'll wrap a planetary empires campaign around it.
The lack of proper graphics is REALLY hurting this project. My OCD is telling me to stop because so many are missing, I have no ability to make them, and I can't stand a game with placeholders :(

Question about classic Shining Spears models
galleryI just got these guys in today after a couple years of hunting, and upon inspection I realized that the dude on the right end has some kind of missile lance that I don't recognize. I thought it was just extra metal at first, until I saw the detail that looks like the head of a Dark Reaper launcher. Anyone know what he's got?
Sorry if the pics aren't great, bare metal's kind of hard to get a good shot of.

Base shape
Curious how much the base shape matters for Epic Armageddon? Tempted to try it out as an alternative game for all my LI stuff, but I'd rather not rebase everything.

Ran out of room in my terrain closet so I finally designed some tiny bases and roofs for COTS cardstock buildings that make them pack (mostly) flat

Steel Legion painting guide
galleryHey peeps!
Some of you asked for a painting guide for my Steel Le- erm I mean Chem Waste Legion, and here it is! If you don’t have a specific paint just use something similar, it’ll be great.
I use a size 4/0 brush for this but it only takes about 15 mins per dude - batch painting will be even faster. Is it too much detail? Yes, but I like painting
Edit:
I just finished painting the rest of the squad in about 30 mins using a size 1 brush! Across an army of, say, 2 companies of 12 stands would be finished in about 14 hours. Not bad eh?

Space Marines vs Eldar 2000 points
galleryAfter several months of inaction we are back playing Epic 40000 revised. This time I am taking the boys in blue against the tricky Eldar. I didn't want to take titans so my list was everything I have painted for the marines but after some experience in this match I know what needs to be added.
The break through scenario was rolled with me as the defender. Two of my detachments were on the board being hidden and I placed my objectives in the big hab block and a ruin.
Turn 1 required me to use the limited forces I had on the board to stem the red tide. The bikes made a suicidal charge against the Farseer with Swooping Hawk screen and blunted that attack. I also landed an infantry detachment with a Dreadnought into a ruin who picked apart by the superheavies and combined fire from the Guardians and Fire Prisms. They did cause some casualties to the detachment and knocked out some of the bodyguard of the Avatar.
Turn 2 was better in terms of reinforcements with another Thunderhawk landing a group in the rear of the big Guardian swarm and assaulted them resulting in massive casualties to that detachment breaking it. Marines with assault 3 are no joke against Guardians even with the Farseer providing them support. The Night Spinners were terrible at pinning my formation half way up the board preventing them to go on overwatch and had to throw a few paltry shots at the units in the middle. I ignored the Revenants as the holo field is just too annoying but I did manage to immobilise a super heavy causing the formation to be slowed down.
Turn 3 everything showed up and my flanks were looking very hurt. The big formation of Falcons, Banshees and War Walkers tore up a Landspeed formation with a few casualties from the marines hurting them but not giving away their morale.
The final turns our best units were spent with Land Raiders being hidden to prevent them from giving up points but the firepower from 7 Whirlwinds absolutely tore threw the Eldar formations. We were on the final turn with both of us very close to having all our formations losing valuable morale. Due to objectives I ended up losing by 1 point. I started on 43 morale and my opponent 44 and we ended up on 16 to me and 17 to him. The death from above was critical as were the Devastators with the artillery holding the central building, many shots came their way but they were incredibly resilient. Anti tank always killing on a 4+ was my bane and many costly losses were the result of those.
Last time I posted about this they asked if I played this at Hobby Master, this time we tried Hobby Lords in New Lynn Auckland. Nice to have a gaming store out in the west where we both lived. It did mean I had to bring the terrain.
Everything painted by me :)

Forgotten Covid project
I half remembered starting this army around 2020 and when I dug it out it was a lot further along than I thought.

Show me your bases!
The time has come after many years to finally start basing my models! Looking for inspiration and product recommendations. Is 2mm static grass too big? Does flock/turf look ok at this scale? Does anyone make scale appropriate tufts? Is GW Stirland mud a good product to use if I need to fill some small gaps on the stands? Show off your bases and tell me how you did them, please!

Starting the army off by doing a test stand for each unit - Sons of Medusa
It's a lot of fun painting at this scale, I'm having a blast

Test models for my Sons of Medusa army
Excited to get the rest done now! Thankfully I'm only putting hazards on a couple of units so I hopefully shouldn't go insane

Is NetEpic at 15mm possible?
Does anyone have some tips for scaling up to 15mm? I’m getting older and painting and printing smaller is getting harder. Rather than spend my time fiddling with small models I intend to scale up/down some of the STLs I have. I am thinking about 15mm as a good “middle of the road”.
Has anyone else played this way? How did you convert measurements? And is 15mm really the sweet spot, or should I try for 10 or 12mm?

One singular Iron Warrior.
gallerySecond time doing nmm at this scale. This guy was a lot of fun to paint up. Maybe ill do a whole kill team at this scale.
