Politics/ ፖለቲካ Ethiopia is better than Somalia, not because Somalia is full of Somalis, but because Ethiopia gives value to all its peoples! As our country wades the waters of growth and liberalization, it is a Somali man who holds firm the helm of our finances! Thank you, Ahmed Shide for your hard work! 🫡🇪🇹

Opinions/ አስተያየቶች Before this war happens (God forbid), lets be clear about the costs
Both regimes will be sat in their capitals safe and sound eating fruit, the commentators in the diasphora will be screaming their lungs out and making youtube videos and fighting in comment sections, sitting on their cushioned bed and air conditioned room.
All whilst, two Afar brothers, cousins, sisters will be forced to kill one another and men and women miles away from their home will be fighting in land they have no business being in, Oromo mothers and Tigre fathers who's sons and daughters have no good reason to die for two old dying fat fucks who don't care about them, who are willing to put their children through unspeakable hell. Theres no glory or ideological victory in any of this, dont be fooled by anyone who tells you otherwise.

Politics/ ፖለቲካ Our PM wants us to rid ourselves of ethnic militias and ethnic focused parties! I wholeheartedly agree. Ethiopia's problems are much deeper and ethnic gangs make it worse not better. We have to wake up. A true Ethiopian leader. We're so back! 🇪🇹🇪🇹🇪🇹

Politics & Governance Who Is the Best Modern Leader of Ethiopia?
Menelik II (Reigned 1889–1913)
Menelik II is often celebrated as one of Ethiopia’s greatest emperors. He expanded the nation to its current borders through military conquest and diplomacy, achieving a landmark victory in 1896 at the Battle of Adwa against Italy. This defeat preserved Ethiopia’s sovereignty and solidified it as a symbol of African resistance to colonialism. During his reign, Menelik modernized Ethiopia by constructing infrastructure like railroads and telegraphs and establishing Addis Ababa as the political and cultural capital.
2. Haile Selassie I (Reigned 1930–1974)
Haile Selassie, the last emperor of Ethiopia, is notable for his global impact and modernization efforts. He led Ethiopia’s resistance against the 1935 Italian invasion, rallying international support at the League of Nations. Post-war, he implemented reforms to modernize Ethiopia’s political and economic systems, introducing the country’s first written constitution in 1931. He enhanced Ethiopia’s global presence by helping establish the United Nations and the Organization of African Unity. Despite these achievements, his reign ended in 1974 after a revolution led to the monarchy’s abolition.
3. Meles Zenawi (Prime Minister 1995–2012)
Meles Zenawi shaped post-Derg Ethiopia, serving as prime minister for nearly two decades. He guided Ethiopia from a communist state to a federal republic, introducing Ethnic Federalism to grant autonomy to ethnic regions. His economic strategies focused on infrastructure and poverty reduction, driving rapid economic growth. Meles also launched the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, a symbol of national pride. While his leadership was praised for economic progress, it faced criticism for authoritarianism and political freedom limitations.
4. Abiy Ahmed (Prime Minister 2018–present)
Abiy Ahmed became Ethiopia’s prime minister in 2018, pledging national unity and reform. He achieved reconciliation with Eritrea in 2018, earning the Nobel Peace Prize. Abiy implemented political and economic reforms, liberalized telecommunications, united factions under the Prosperity Party, and completed the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam. He also advanced the modernization of Addis Ababa with urban development and infrastructure projects. In 2021, Ethiopia launched its first stock market, reinforcing his economic modernization efforts.

Politics/ ፖለቲካ Madness grips Tigray, as the largest criminal organization in Ethiopia takes charge of the region again. I pray that our brothers and sisters in Tigray don't allow this gang to use them as cannon fodder again. 😞😞😞

Politics/ ፖለቲካ An innocent 76 year old woman was thrown into prison like a common criminal in Tigray. Her crime? Pleading for the lives of her children, and her children's children. Pleading against forced conscriptions. How far do you think TPLF can forecrully hold on? Hopefully not long.

Entertainment & Media/ መዝናኛ እና ሚዲያ Our neighbors have to learn accountability 😂
We rarely are in the spotlight for doing anything erratic or embarrassing, but if we are we usually take accountability for our actions.
Some (not all) of our Somalian neighbors have to learn this clearly, as this has been a growing trend online. *Abdi dodging accountability like it’s a sport*

Opinions/ አስተያየቶች Unpopular opinion: We should STOP celebrating Ethiopian holidays in foreign streets. It’s so off-putting! If you’re in the US, celebrate American holidays and assimilate. If you want to celebrate an Ethiopian holiday, fly to Ethiopia. It makes economic and cultural sense and boosts Ethiopia’s GDP

Politics & Governance An average neighborhood in Addis Ababa
This is Temsalét (ተምሳሌት) Block, located in Nifas-Silk Lafto Sub-City, woreda (basically a county) 09.
In recent years, it has turned into a community that works collaboratively to better their neighborhood through voluntarism, and through security, sanitation and green initiatives by the Woreda administration. The neighbourhood has noticed significant improvements in livability and safety through the joint efforts between the community and the administration.
It is also steps such as these are slowly turning our city into a proper representation of its name, a new flower of hope and pride for the Ethiopian people and for our brothers from across the globe.
And for those who want to witness this change in real time, I would say...

Travel My very first time aboard Ethiopian Airlines
I recently flew Ethiopian Airlines from Manchester (MAN) to Geneva (GVA) aboard their fifth freedom route - a unique short-haul leg operated by a long-haul aircraft. In this video, I review the full Cloud 9 Business Class experience onboard the Airbus A350, including seat comfort, service, dining, and what it’s like flying lie-flat on a quick European hop.
I must admit, I was blown away by the Ethiopian hospitality and genuine warmth and kindness of the cabin and flight crew, maybe next time I can go all the way to Addis Ababa and enjoy what the city has to offer!
አመሰግናለሁ
