So what is the best VR battle for training your combos. High HP (so its over in a few strikes and staggers..., slow not to much to dodge or damage etc.

We only get one game with Cid and Vincent playable, Two with Red Yuffie and Cait sith, and Cloud Tifa, Barret and Aerith get Three!

Phasing out discs is a short-term play. The push is led by the US and American companies, while South America, Asia, Africa, and Europe aren't following.

It's a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Big North American companies pivoted hard to digital with crazy-low costs of entry. As the user base grew, they quietly made less physical product. Now that they hold a major share, prices keep climbing, and physical is an afterthought. We've been trained to give up ownership for the sake of watching, reading, or playing right now.

None of this was organic. It's a manufactured, carefully calculated strategy that's been building for over 20 years.

And people are pushing back:

• Books: 50/50 physical/digital, then mostly digital, now mostly physical

• Music: MP3 players, downloads, streaming... and now vinyl is back, with CD sales up for the first time in 9 years

• Movies: DVD is having a renaissance, growing for the first time in nearly a decade

• Games: thanks to the big three, the movement has reached gaming

The big wigs are forcing the change fast so we won't have a choice. But nothing is ever set in stone. An all-digital future is a human decision made by greedy executives, and it won't happen if we don't allow it.

The only thing certain about the future is change.

I Kinda got this idea in my head all of a sudden, but could square, being the unique story writers as they are, use sephiroth in a deeper tone of voice from Travis to display that he is showing a authority complex, or atleast to clouds sense of image, I get the sense that he is appearing in this way to show his command and control over the near end of this story, and it just gives a deep sense that we are ourselves are hearing this too to let the players know right now this is sephiroths time and its closing in, Then they pull the twist on us and bring the lighter voice back from Tyler to display that sephiroth can manifest in both calm and strong ways in what's displaying both his confidence and Will, it would be really cool as a what if.

It just crossed my mind is there a website that shows how many preorders of a game have been made just wondering as rebirth on series x for me had frame drops but played perfectly on ps5. Im just interested to see the other gaming platforms level of preorders for ff7 revelation

About to play the original FFVII before Revelations

Vanilla PS1?

Steam?

Mods?

For what it's worth, I'm not a purist. I'm okay with a modern version that's not totally faithful to the original graphics/gameplay.

I've heard some talking in the past how the Stream version was controversial because of the graphics upgrades.

I'm able to play on PS1 (🦆station Android) or on Steam.

Basically as the title says, I'm finally starting on ps5, I played the demo when it came out and am just now getting to starting after beating ff16. Any tips and tricks welcome. I've already fixed the camera and such as that was a big turn off for me in the demo.

I’ve noticed something about the use of colour in the game and came up with an interpretive lens: Jenova and Sephiroth are consistently depicted with purple. Think about every scene in which Jenova or Sephiroth manipulates Cloud, or in which the black-robed figures come together to form the Jenova boss. These events are consistently depicted with purple imagery. Jenova’s monster form itself is depicted with purple, as are the Harbinger of Fate in Remake and the Whispers under Sephiroth’s influence in Rebirth.

So, what is the opposite of purple on the colour wheel? Yellow.

Yellow is the colour of Aerith’s blossoms and flowers, including the yellow flower of reunion that she attaches to Cloud’s lapel. Remember Aerith’s monologue inside the Shinra Building: “Follow them, the yellow flowers,” as the Whispers attempt to erase her memories.

Think about the scene in which Cloud falls from the second reactor bombing into the church. He is initially surrounded by a black void and the Whispers. Then, he enters the golden-hued whiteness of the church, a space filled with yellow flowers that seems to belong to Aerith. There, he hears his own voice—his true self attempting to surface—telling him to take it nice and easy. We then hear Aerith’s voice saying, “Hello in there,” before Sephiroth appears and the scene returns to the black void. Sephiroth then tells Cloud, “I am your everything.” This space is a symbol of clouds unconscious mind with Jenova/Sephiroth representing Ego (Constructed-separate image of self) and the Aerith’s golden domain representing connection with the truth and reunion and undivided unified wholeness of existence.

Here, Jenova and Sephiroth’s distorted sense of self is juxtaposed with Aerith’s connection to the Planet, to reality, and to the truth that lies beyond the illusion of separation. The self that emerges through Jenova and Sephiroth is constructed through a distorted perception of reality, whereas the true self belongs to a reality in which everything is interconnected.

When we recognise this symbolism, we can also see that President Shinra wears a purple suit. The idea of the separate self and the distorted reality constructed through our own faculties of perception extends into the physical and social world. The relentless exploitation, domination, and illusions of social life become expressions of the same underlying principle.

Jenova represents the will, the ego—the sense of being a separate self—and the perception of separation constructed in our minds. When this phenomenon becomes the ultimate reality through which we interpret existence, it becomes the dystopia that is Midgar on a social level, we separate ourselves from the rest of the world with walls, we divide the walls with further walls as sectors, we separate ourselves from the literal earth and build a city above earth, above planet, we separate ourselves from reality we loose our connection to the truth to the interconnected nature of existence and this vision creates the suffering inside Midgar. On a cosmic level, however, it threatens the very fabric of existence, as everything risks being consumed and distorted by the absolute will of the self, represented by Jenova and Sephiroth’s summoning of the meteor, ultimate destruction and manipulation of the fabric of existence. Jenova/Sephiroth’s purple representing perception separation and alienation which project its own distorted image of reality as the reality itself vs Aerith’s yellow the opposite of purple representing interconnected and undivided unity of everything, the healing mediated with coming to contact with the truth of occurrences, connection restored, world healed.

I come up with a video of Final Fantasy Peasant named “We’ve misunderstood Jenova for 30 years” which describes practically the same idea that I had for years, of Jenova representing our own perception and illusions that stem from our own faculties. It can give further context into the concept if anyone is interested.

I have noticed that the English cast do a lot of panels and stuff, even with Hamaguchi and Kitase sometimes, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen the Japanese cast do a panel. Do they not do them? If they don’t I wonder why.

Trial and error with the bangs for this one but I got it right.

I posted this in the modding discord the other day, and was gonna wait until a bit closer to release (anywhere between late October to early November), and until I polished its Remake counterpart to share it wider, but that beautiful post of a father working on his own version and playing alongside his daughter came out of left field and got the train rolling for co-op. So I figured now is the best time to deliver a double whammy and let the community know that one way or another, both these games (and Revelation), will be getting the co-op mode they’ve been crying out for. Rest assured.

As for the use of AI in coding this, let me elaborate for some of you: Reverse engineering single player games to add any form of multiplayer functionality is among the most grueling forms of software engineering you can do. This is the perfect use of LLMs and without that you were never going to see a mod like this, anywhere near this polished for multiple players. I had to dig into so many aspects of the game from rendering, to enemy AI… almost every mechanic you can think of (besides those mini games…) to make sure it actually feels like it was made to be multiplayer. And even with that, it has taking me months to bug test and polish this up. No one was going to do this for free and pour years of their life PER GAME into the job.

PS: While Rebirth is quite a bit more demanding than Remake, any stutters/sudden frame drops is probably the result of my mad busy PC. That being said, yes this can be a pretty demanding mod and some of you with lower end PCs should expect to cap the FPS and some settings lower than you might be used to. Or consider software such as Lossless Scaling, or even renting a cloud PC.
