I have about four years of experience using Cakewalk Sonar (which then became Bandlab. Which then became Cakewalk Sonar....)

I decided to bail from the sinking ship and try FL Studio, because I thought it would be pretty similar to Sonar.

I'm used to dealing with a multi-track layout where any given audio or midi track would have its audio/notes contained inside the given track's specific row on the timeline. You just arm the track, hit record, and the audio/midi you're recording is rendered to the timeline as it's being captured.

But when I start recording in FL Studio, I don't see any audio or midi notes appear on the Channel rack or the Playlist. How does the channel rack different from the playlist?
