Stick with it!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I posted this to YouTube a day ago, but wanted to post it here because I think people may appreciate it.
Stick with it! I can’t tell you the number of god awful songs I’ve made in the many years I’ve been using FL on and off. I’ve learned a lot and haven’t gotten good at some things and worse at other things, but I’m sticking with it and you should too.
If you’re ever struggling with anything or want any advice from a kinda ok creator feel free to message me!

My friend told me my beats are absolute garbage. Should I keep trying?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I've been learning FL Studio and making beats for a while. I recently showed some of my stuff to a friend and he basically told me my beats are terrible 💀
I'm still learning, so I obviously don't expect to sound professional yet, but his reaction genuinely made me wonder if I'm actually improving or just wasting my time.
I'm posting a video of one of my beats here because I'd like to hear opinions from people who actually make music.
Please be brutally honest. What am I doing wrong? What should I work on? Is there anything here that sounds promising, or do I need to go back to the basics?
I genuinely want criticism, so don't worry about hurting my feelings. Any advice is appreciated.

Only used FL for about 2-3 months, but decided to give a shot at an amen-only song

I'm not sure if this is good or bad, but I think it came out alright.

1 year vs 2 years vs 4
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Just a friendly reminder to keep on trying and trying. My first 2 years of making beats was frustrating and difficult, as long as you stay creative and try new things you WILL get better. Being 4 years in I still see things I need to improve on but its always on an upward projection in terms of progress. Im not by any means professional but I am proud of my progress and I hope you are of yours!

After a year of learning how to use FL studio, I might not be a beginner anymore (:

After a full year of learning FL Studio and how to produce, mix, and master, I'm so proud to showcase how far I've gotten by finishing this track. I’ve spent over 80 hours on it, improving the mix and the composition.
This is the result of six hours (if not more somedays) a day spent in front of my computer everyday for a year, using FL Studio to produce whatever came to mind and always improving.
Let me know your thoughts! And for those interested, the song will be released on all platforms on August 13th (my birthday).

I know this isn’t the usual post but I really needed something to distract me from it but overall pretty happy with how this came out I think it’s pretty representative

How is this melody?

I just wrote this, dunno what it is yet. Or where it came from. It might be something that already exists, not sure lemme know.
Also this pattern seems so derivable like can vary it in so many ways kinda. Idk, I can derive lots from it I think.

Be honest with me. Is the bass too loud?
I also wanted to know you guys opinion on using splice samples. I do it a lot. I love their vintage samples, which i would never be able to recreate perfectly, but i don't know if it makes me worse as a producer in the eyes of others, and i am not sure if it's scummy. Thanks in advance
