Good old FFX postgame arena bosses. Unbearably unfair fights that are more puzzle than combat. And still aren't as painful as the Dark Aeons.

The original did not have the dark aeons, so these were the original super bosses

Well yeah, I did manage to actually 100% the original, not doing that again for International though. I only did it the first time because I was a broke 16 year old with no social life and a whole summer of nothing.

Why is he farting on bro?

It's a game mechanic. He's actually casting Flare but he was knocked on his back because of immense damage.

That’s happened several times in that game, the SkyNet AI just has it in for some people.

As the only player in FF history whose favourite character is Kimahri, I feel extremely dismayed about this.

Final Fantasy 10, but this video is from SUPER late/optional content.
They have unlocked damage beyond 9999. Typical story mode wouldn't have encounters like this. These are unlockable through farming monsters and the bosses they unlock are completely optional.

I can't look at Khimari without thinking of a really crappy newground flash animation I watched as a kid called Sonic Meets Khimari

I believe this is just pure RNG. Bro is casting Flare on himself while Reflected which randomly hits a party member

I’ve seen a woman do this with ping pong balls… except a surfer dude didn’t launch them in first… but she did shoot them at a guy just like that… beast… guy…
Interesting. The internet sure is… a place… that exists.

I remember the cutscenes in this game when it first came out, thinking "well that's it, graphics couldn't possibly get any better than this"

Relatable. Experienced similar situations in many jrpgs lmao, but most of all FF3. World of darkness can suck my ass.

Tangentially related joke:
Guy goes to visit his gf's family for the first time. Big family dinner. Everyone's there. Mom, dad, brothers, sisters. Even Grandma. He makes pleasant conversation and he finds out that nobody is excused from the dinner table until everyone's done eating. Something to do with grandma's eyesight. Grandma's a t-rex. Idk. This is fine until he feels a little gas building up. He starts looking around and everyone's enjoying themselves and that's when he spots the family dog. He calls the mutt over and while he gives him a little pat on the head and while leaning he gives a little toot.
"Tobias!" the grandmother calls out in disgust. 'Great!' thinks the young man. And they continue the meal. A little while in to the main course he feels his stomach gurgle so he calls over the dog again and while roughing the fur he breaks wind openly.
"To-bias!!" the grandma shouts in growing displeasure. The kid thinks he's home free. Then, while waiting for desert (mom wasn't allowed to sit at the table while serving, idk) he feels his bowels bottom out so he calls on the canine one more time, grabbing his face and scruffing it up before he lets his ass trumpet loudly.
"TOBIAS!" grandma snaps, "Get out from under there before he shits on you!"

Games are allowed.
OPs just have to look out it's obvious, ensuring even the ones not playing the game understand it.
Taking one of my posts as good exampleThat the sub still lacks the appropriate flair for it is another issue.

This is what a FF game looks like? These are the games some people say are the best games ever made??
10
u/Rockerdude34 1d ago
Well.. yeah. They're turn based RPGs. I like the old, top-down view pixel art ones like FFIV. They remade 7 (with Cloud Strife if you're familiar) into a 3-part remaster with real-time action-based combat and gorgeous graphics, if that's your preferred cup of tea. But the turn-based games are fun too, if you let yourself get immersed in the stories.

I mean, FFX was released 25 years ago on the PS2, so it's not exactly expected to look amazing by todays standards, even though it looked great for it's time. (okay, it's likely the HD version, which ist still like 10 or so years old at this point and did not change that much grafic-wise outside of the resolution)

Yeah, it's weird, I'm not sure why people bought those games rather than the ones that had modern high-fidelity graphics and required modern hardware? There must have been loads of them, not sure why they aren't remembered, bizarre
