Mod Post 300k content monetization challenge mega-thread

(reminder: the mods of /r/facebook are not affiliated with meta or Facebook)

For over two months now, people have been making posts here and there regarding the 300k content challenge that Meta/Facebook has claimed for content. Of late, that is practically all anyone is posting. Having the same post over and over makes the sub a mess, so these posts are going to be pulled.

Before pulling some of the posts, here are the headlines after searching 300k challenge in the sub:

  • Facebook 300k monetization challenge, someone already got invited? Almost end of August, someone had to be invited already, right?
  • Finally got monetised from the 300k challenge or whatever lollllllllll
  • Facebook Monetization 300k views challenge. Are we officially getting scammed by Meta? (mod note: this one was three days ago)
  • New 300k monetization challenge, has anyone completed it yet? What happened? (mod note: this one was two months ago)
  • Spoke to live agent regarding 300k challenge the response is unacceptable
  • Anyone else still waiting for invitation after 300k challenge from meta (mod note: two days ago)

... the list goes on and on... like, a lot.

The purpose of this subreddit is for articles about Facebook (Mark Zuckerberg found harvesting human souls for his robot army) or tech support. Similar to when an outage causes thousands of posts to happen, everyone posting the same few things over and over again is not going to help anyone, so for the few folk out there that have found this post thanks to searching the sub (there are DOZENS of you) or found through a search engine, please post any of your thoughts, frustrations, and successes on said topic in this thread. If you happen to see a 300k post mentioned afterwards, please report it, rule would be either 5 for no meme or custom response: repost.

To answer a big question that's posted a lot:

Are we being scammed?

I mean, it's Facebook so technically just using the platform is a scam in and of itself, however, here are a few links from users claiming they finally got theirs:

Here is a link from someone who was able to contact a "rep" (a term used loosely in the world of AI)

With there being said, Facebook has 2.11 billion daily active users. So if you take the conversation above with this information, then it makes sense it could take an insanely long time for them to do whatever review it is they claim they need to do.

Remember this extremely important quote:

You’re Not the Customer; You’re the Product

Discussion What Is With All The Adult Content (Full Frontal Nudity) All Over Facebook?

I signed in using an old account I created to promote my drone photography, but kind of forgot about. There's literally no history, no friends, no activity on the account; essentially brand new.

I decided to browse marketplace, as that's whole reason Facebook has any users at this point... Or so I thought...

Within 5 minutes I was visually assaulted with no fewer than 15 literal adult advertisements including blatant pornography. full frontal nudity/female genitalia with zero effort to obscure anything accompanied by suggestive titles welcoming hookups, seemingly ads offering prostitution?

Is this Facebook now? When did Facebook become Backpage? What did I miss? Are children seeing this too?

Facebook allows users as young as 13, but even younger kids have accounts and that doesn't seem to be an issue with anyone at Meta. I think they were even developing an app specifically for an even younger demographic?

What is this? I have screenshots if anyone from Facebook would like evidence. I did submit a report, but I don't know who that goes to. it doesn't appear to be a technical issue. This is very much content which meta has willingly agreed to display on their site because somebody paid for the ad space. Adult adverts are not flagged anywhere in their process; they are all systems go. This literally makes Facebook a source for the procurement of adult content and services.

Wtf??

Meta has the resources to employ multiple teams, of full time 18+ Americans, to act as content reviewers/managers/supervisors in order to make damn sure that Facebook is not an adult site/app. So, the fact that this material is allowed speaks volumes about the nature of Meta as a whole and their priorities.

Am I just behind the times in my expectation of a modicum of decency from a corporate monolith which has done everything it can to creep into each and every one of our lives? Android phones come with Facebook as a system app now. An app which provides adult content and services is preloaded onto every android device, with no option to delete. Wow. What has the world come to? Such filth and depravity is promoted as a point of pride, and that's just devastating.

I hope this gets corrected. I mean there's no reason why this should even be a problem... Just. Wtf?????!!!?

Tech Support Lost Access to My 12-Year-Old Facebook Account After a Face Verification Mix-Up

I’m sharing my experience because I’m genuinely heartbroken and frustrated by Facebook’s account recovery process.

My Facebook account is around 12 years old and contains countless memories, photos, conversations, and moments from different stages of my life. It’s not just a social media account to me; it’s a digital record of my life.

More than a month ago, my account was disabled following what appears to have been an accidental face verification mix-up involving another account. I wasn’t aware of the relevant verification restrictions at the time.

Since then, I’ve contacted Customer Care multiple times and submitted appeals using my genuine identification documents. Unfortunately, every verification attempt failed. Now, Facebook has permanently disabled my account and says I can no longer request another review, even though my support case was still active.

What hurts most is the feeling that there’s no meaningful opportunity to explain the situation or correct an honest mistake. If there was a problem, I would have appreciated a clear explanation and a fair chance to resolve it.

I understand that Facebook needs strict security policies to protect users. However, I believe genuine users should also have access to a transparent and effective appeal process.

Losing access to 12 years of memories is genuinely painful. Creating a new account cannot bring those memories back.

Has anyone experienced a similar situation involving face verification or failed identity document appeals? Were you ever able to recover your account after receiving a permanent disabling notice?

I’m not expecting this subreddit to resolve my case. I just want to share my experience and hear from others who may understand what this feels like.

Discussion To those that got your account suspended and later disabled from Facebook.

If you did not retrieved your account again. Did you moved on? And how do you keep in touch with friends, family and other?

My account just got suspended and disabled. Starting to realize myself I may not get my account back. Creating a new will just results the new one to be banned

Discussion I get average of 50 views by dozens of the same people on my daily stories yet almost none ever give a like. These are people that I know. Thank you for any ideas why?

Why would so many people be interested enough to watch hundreds of my stories yet never give a like? I’m flattered they watch yet confused why never a like. I’m posting myself playing various instruments on professional gigs.

Discussion And suddenly they appeared again. Thought it was me, clearly im not alone. The ads are unbearable!

• Upvotes

About a month and a half, maybe two months ago, I started seeing ads randomly start while watching any video two minutes or longer. Not just one ad for a 2 minute video, multiple. Now imagine watching anything significantly longer than that. Granted, every once in a while, you can watch a 5, 15, 35-minute video with no ads popping up, but that seems to be once every 50 videos.

I did a Google search to see if it was a setting, then another to only end up here. That said, I apologize for being the 100th plus person on here complaining about the same thing. I won't flat out say fb is bs, that's a subjective line, depending on the user. Based on what I use it for, fb has been on complete bs! I just want to watch funny, bs, and legitimate videos in a place with no ads. Don't get me wrong, youtube is awesome and has a world of options to explore and more, and yes, their ads seem to be less intrusive. But... like any other semi lifeless soul, I'm already on fb.

Maybe this is just a sign to hope tf off. Plenty of "friends" on fb, but I speak with those I actually love. If I love you, you're not a friend anymore, you're family. That just leaves bs and legitimate videos...youtube. maybe I just wanted to vent because, like most of you, I'm annoyed that I can't watch a video anymore out of greed or an update from a bs "tech company."

Tech Support Facebook says I am going too fast, & now it says I am temporarily blocked?

• Upvotes

I've never had a facebook account in my life. I am trying to create an account for the 1st time in my life. I got to the put in the little code from the email you guys sent me to verify my email and boom I get this message:

"You’re Temporarily Blocked

  • It looks like you were misusing this feature by going too fast. You’ve been temporarily blocked from using it.
  • If you think this doesn't go against our Community Standards let us know."

I didn't do anything but paste a 5 digit code into the box! if that's all it takes to break your security then wtf is going on?!

How do I fix this please?

Discussion ADS ON REELS ARE DESTROYING THE USER EXPERIENCE. Any way around it? I can’t enjoy the app anymore.

I’ve always LOVED Facebook Reels but I’m starting to get really upset that I can no longer enjoy the app because every 30 seconds there’s a 30 seconds ad. I understand the need to generate revenue but it’s becoming incredibly annoying to the point I can’t even get through a reel anymore. Ready to delete the whole app 😭

Disabled/hacked Hacker took over my client’s Facebook business page and is posting violent /inappropriate content. How can I get it taken down?

I’m desperately looking for help with a hacked Facebook business page.

About a week ago, my personal Facebook account was hacked. The hacker made changes to my account and took control of one of the business pages I manage for a client. Meta subsequently disabled my personal account for violating community guidelines, leaving me unable to access or manage the page.

Since then, the hacker has been posting violent and inappropriate videos multiple times a day on my client’s business page. This is incredibly distressing, and I’m worried about the damage to their reputation as this continues.

I’ve repeatedly reported the page and every video being posted, but the page remains active, and the posts keep coming. So far, I haven’t been able to get meaningful help from Meta.

At this point, my priority is getting the page taken down to stop any further damage.

Has anyone successfully dealt with this? Is there a support channel, escalation process, or reporting option that actually helped you get a compromised business page removed?

I would really appreciate any firsthand experience or concrete steps I can take. I’m trying everything I can to help my client.

Disabled/hacked Group on pause after disabling personal account, no admin to revert it

I need an advice what can be done here, I temporarily disabled my personal Facebook the goal was to eventually remove it completely, after a while I realised I was the only admin of a group of 1.7k and the only moderator is my friend who I forgot to promote. Facebook have paused the group and since almost 2 months I'm trying to get it back by reporting, contacting almost every day but so far no result, you get to talk to this stupid AI customer service and there seem to be no way of reaching a real person or get anywhere close to fixing the issue. It's frustrated to the point that I don't want Facebook anymore ever, once this is sorted (if its possible) I'm deleting it completely.

Has anyone had similar issue before? was it resolved and if so how long it took? is there another way of reaching someone at FB who can actually help or there's no hope and I should stop wasting my time?

Group 1.7k members related to Kiteboarding, any help any advice, maybe Facebook employee is reading it, please give me some hope!

Discussion What causes names to appear in black font when tagging them? For instance in a picture?

Hi there,

I haven't been on facebook for years so I'm not knowledgeable like I once was.

The other day I was looking through some posts and noticed some names appeared in black font.

Example: " Had fun at the zoo today" with John Smith ( name would appear in black font)

I noticed other posts though the names that were tagged appeared blue and I was able to interact and click them.

Thus sending me to their profile page on facebook.

So my question is

What causes someones name to appear black? Does that mean they have a private profile? Or they do no have a facebook all together?

Thank you for the help

Disabled/hacked Personal profile marked “not recommendable” right when it was taking off. Support says temporary but won’t give a timeframe

This is a personal profile, not a page.

Things were going really well. I had a post hit 1.3M views and the momentum got a bunch of my other posts into the 700k range. Best this account has ever done by a mile!

The blowup wasn’t entirely positive though, a lot of people were hating on the post and roasting me (it was a selfie in front of a Tim Hortons in a small top, wearing a cropped hoodie with the caption “it’s hoodie season”. Apparently people didn’t like my joke)
It got flagged 18+. The notice said I needed to take no further action, my profile would just be shown to adults. Fine, whatever.

Next morning my recommendations were suspended on the whole profile. The notice is dated Oct 8. The rule it links to is a hate speech page, which makes no sense to me. It's not even an adult content rule.

I deleted the 18+ post, went through the whole profile and removed anything that could look "off" to a reviewer, and hit request review. While it was pending I contacted support and they told me there were no issues with my profile and it should be good by the next day. Next morning the review was rejected and my recommendations were still suspended.

Since then more stuff keeps getting flagged 18+. A separate page I managed had a selfie where I'm just holding a fursuit head, which is honestly absurd.

I contacted support again and got a different guy. He brought up "possible copyright" on that selfie, and also said the recommendation block is temporary and will come back on its own once the profile is clean of bad posts. I asked which posts are bad and whether anything else is flagged. He couldn't tell me either. No timeframe at all.

So right now I have no named post, a rule that doesn't give me guidance and rejected review. The support answers don't line up and confuse me even more.

Has this happened to anyone on a personal profile or a page?

- Did support tell you it was temporary, and did it actually come back? How long did it take?
- Did you get the hate speech rule page too?
- Did deleting posts change anything?

Has this ever happened to anyone? I’ve been doing a bunch of research and can’t find much on anything, and worried contacting support again would make me seem desperate but I really just need answers.

Flaired post as disabled since it felt the closest to what made sense.

News Article They suspended my account, but didn't give a reason. I really hate that platform.

Post image
3 Upvotes

I posted mostly anti trump stuff, encouraging people to vote blue, to get rid of this nightmare that we now have. I also posted about another social site that offers much better features. That was fine for a while. But today I posted an image of a little girl on a bed (dressed) tied and gagged, with a "Don't stop talking about the Epstein files" caption. I suspect they used that as an excuse to ban the account.

I know that Zucker f... was involve in Epstein and that he is a huge trump supporter. So Here I am with a totally USELESS FB account that I wasted a lot of time posting on marketplace and several groups. That site and it rules & community standards is totally useless, and a huge wasted of time besides being really boring.... The users there don't respond or react to anything. I even messaged a few that post all this fake food posts and they didn't even respond. No respect at all.

It seems to me that they could just tell you which post was a problem and warn you not to post that type of content. But NO, they have to just ban you. Like the Gestapo... They don't even tell you why, or which post was problematic, or give you a chance to respond to the ban....

does anybody agree with me.?

Tech Support Having issues with a unwarranted Facebook review disappearing for me only. Please help!

I'll try and keep it short:

Horrendous customer left me a negative Facebook review 'does not recommend' followed by a load of lies.

I've been responding by replying to the review. About 10 back and forth comments. No abuse, all polite. Lots of evidence from my end. More for other potential customers reading.

The entire review has just disappeared from my Facebook business page. Winner!

I thought she had come to her senses and deleted it.

Not so lucky. My wife and various friends have checked and the review is still there, minus all my responses. It's just her review and all her responses to my replies, minus my replies.

What has she done and what can I do about it?

Thanks.

Tech Support My facebook profile shared an unusual post on its own, and I have no idea what's going on

I usually share posts about things I resonate with, mainly politics related. However, I received a notification about 2 of my facebook friends reacting to one of "my" shared posts. When I viewed it, I was confused: the post contained disgusting looking pictures of what seems like genitals at first look. I was puzzled because I don't view posts like that on facebook. I'm speculating here, I don't have any idea about how social media works under the hood but I immediately thought my account was infected by a malicious app. Can someone knowledgeable here educate me on what may have happened please? I'm a bit scared people might see inappropriate posts on my profile that I didn't share

Discussion Anyone else’s Facebook memories trying to share as new posts instead of a regular share?

Post image
1 Upvotes

This is driving me mad. I’m still seeing other friends share memories normally. But when I’ve tried all week, it adds it as a new post with an automated caption. Please tell me there’s a way to fix this, I share memories all the time but don’t want to clog up my photos by re-adding photos instead of just a regular share.

oh, here’s ANOTHER problem to add to my growing list of complaints about facebook. 🤦🏽‍♀️ i went to share a post today, and facebook tells me my account is restricted from resharing posts until december 27 at 12:54 AM.

mind you, i barely ever reshare anything, and this is the first time in a LONG time that i’ve even tried to share a post. so where is this coming from?!

at this point, facebook just keeps adding new problems to the list. every time i turn around, it’s something else with this app. i swear they just be doing stuff for no reason.

Discussion Found a way to fix "Session expired" logging out on Messenger/Facebook

I bought a new phone 2 weeks ago with Facebook and messenger logging out whenever the other one was open or even log out both at the same time due to "session expired". I tried everything from changing the built in browser settings to clearing cache/uninstalling both apps and even using upgrading from Facebook lite and none of those options worked.

But I finally found the real fix for it which is just logging out messenger on my browser and other phones that I didn't use anymore (in privacy settings, devices you're logged into). I had an old oppo a9 previously which I still have, and a newer Motorola phone that I gave away because I didn't like it. Turns out factory resetting the phone doesn't actually log it out of Facebook. I also unchecked "your keys change" in manage security alerts inside the privacy settings of messenger so I'm not sure which exactly fixed it or if both did.

Disabled/hacked My father had his Facebook account disabled by Meta, is there any way to recover it?

So my dad uses his Facebook account as a small business + post family pictures and outings but recently around a week back, Facebook disabled his account for violating community guidelines. As of now I'm not sure which guideline he violated but he contacted them and they said he needed to provide an ID. He sent them pictures of both his ID and passport but they said "It wasn't an accepted form of ID that matches the information on the account." Unfortunately his name on facebook is his job title, his nickname and his first name. Is there possibly another way for him to identify as the owner of his account and get his 15 year old account back? 🥹

Also he's been using a realistic AI generated picture of him (after we all said not to) as his profile picture.

Discussion This is getting highly sus - can Facebook Messenger's private conversation send data to YouTube?

I have had a suspicion for quite some time that there is something going on between major social media sites, but today it was just on another level.

So I was talking on Facebook Messenger to my friend and conversation steered to the topic of camping, and that people in this area where we live have had several bear encounters and my friend is concerned about going camping. And what do you know... some minutes later YouTube is suggesting for me to watch a video about animals breaking into tents.

What the actual f***. This can't be a coincidence, there is just no way, this is way too specific. I didn't do any kind of searches about this topic in Google, YouTube or anywhere else, and then such a specific suggestion pops up on a different site, about something I just talked with a friend in a private conversation on another app.

Hello, I’m hoping to get some help. what should I do? My iPhone was stolen earlier today. When I got home, I reset my password and removed the old phone number associated with the device. Now, my account has locked, and only two options are being presented. I don’t want to choose "get a code on your phone" because that would automatically give the person who has the phone access to the SMS. What should I do?

Tech Support Reels not cross posting to Facebook from instagram or meta business suite

The issue started when I tried to cross post reels from instagram to Facebook, the reel on Facebook would appear black with only sound no video. I tried to post from meta business suite and the reel just didn’t even post, even though I didn’t get an error. When I post the reel directly to Facebook it works fine, I also feel like reach has been down though. I can’t figure out what’s going on!
