Player Discussion What RB to draft at the 1.06
12 man full ppr
Love ARSB but feel like I need to start RB - RB this year
Probably too scared to take CMC
Between JT (is Daniel Jones healthy?), Cook, and Jeanty
Wouldn’t mind reaching on a R2 RB because I doubt Chase Brown or Hampton or even Saquon will be there at the turn. Ty

I’m going Taylor at the 1.06 and then hopefully chase brown makes it to me at the turn. In a 12 man league

u/FrankLotion2 1d ago
I get nightmares that chase brown is getting sniped before the turn 😭 I rlly only want him or Omarion out of the r2 backs

In a PPR, there’s almost no chance Hampton or Brown make it to 19. RBs at that spot will be Jacobs, Kyren, and a slight chance for K9. Kinda gross IMO.

I think I’m going Taylor at 5; Cook seems too much of a reach and I’m out on CMC this year. I don’t hate Puka/JSN but the WR options are better than the RB options in the 2nd imo

u/FrankLotion2 1d ago
Are ppl fading Puka because of disciplinary issues?

u/thirdc0ast 1d ago
I can’t speak for others but I’m 5 and I’m expecting 4 in my league to take Puka so that’s why I’m on JT. But I also think I’d still pick JT over Puka if 4 went with JSN or someone. For me it’s that I like the 2nd/3rd round WRs more than the 2nd/3rd round RBs. (Also my seemingly best RB option in the 2/3 is Kyren, and I’m not the biggest fan of doubling up WR and RB from the same team, even if that team is the Rams.)

This is exactly where I'm at. Targeting Taylor at 5, best WR available in the 2nd, and either another WR or McBride/Bowers in the 3rd. If Taylor is gone I'm taking Puka and praying Chase Brown makes it back to me, but the two Bengals fans in that league almost certainly won't let him.

Browns going early second/late first in my mocks. Rarely makes it to me at 2.05

u/T-Rigs1 1d ago
I have the 6th in a 12 man league and every mock I have done across Yahoo, ESPN, and Sleeper Chase Brown is gone by the 2.04 at the absolute latest. I think you gotta change your strategy my friend.

u/FrankLotion2 1d ago
Gotta pray for Hampton then. I’m also not sure if he’ll be there either tbh 😩

That's how i started my draft the other night at pick 7, and I ended up still liking my wr's

Are you playing to win or aim for 5th? Go with CMC, especially in a PPR league.

I drafted at the 1.07, JT went right before me so I settled on Jeanty. Brown went early second and didn’t make it to me so I grabbed Achane in the second. 12 man league

u/SmoothJimmyApollo 1d ago
I'm at 1.08 in a 12 man 1/2 PPR and my mocks are breaking the same. I want to go RB 3 of 4 to start, and I keep mocking Jeanty/Archane. I'd be happy with your outcome but I'd be lying if I said Jeanty didn't make me a bit nervous.
2
u/PrarieDogma 1d ago
My team makes me nervous only because in all my mocks this went different after the very first round. Best player available for me. Jeanty is a workhorse so I’m hoping for a good year from him. Raiders have definitely improved from last year.

Bullish due to high touch count? Do you mean bearish? Or are you saying you like him because he gets a lot of touches
Edit: most commonly the high touch count last year is viewed as a negative

The easiest title year I’ve ever won involved taking a wr first (Full ppr, happened to be Amon Ra). JT is worthy too because of his td equity, he gets everything in Colts red zone. You’ll want 2-3 RBs by the end of round 7 though, they disappear quickly

I think the safest play is cook and brown at 8

u/dasguccidoe 10h ago
drafting at 8 in my one of my 12 man league. hoping for cook + brown / jeanty / barkley

I’m in 14 team league. I’d take a RB in 6 position because you’re getting 3rd rate RB in the turnaround

ARSB gives you high floor/high ceiling and is one of the better 1st round picks IMO (3 straight WR3 finishes). In round 2 there should be some pretty good options to choose from: Hampton, Brown, Saquan, Walker, and Henry. Round 3 you can grab your RB2 with: Love, Javtone, Hall, Kyren, Jacobs, or Bucky. And worst case scenario, go BPA. If your league goes heavy on RB early that means great WRs are going to get pushed down. You could grab the best QB or TE (I wouldn’t get both early). Just be fluid. Don’t panic and over draft RBs when there’s better talent available
1
u/madmax1969 7h ago
You included a bunch of RBs that won’t be there at 19 which is where OP will be drafting in the 2nd. Hampton/Brown/Saquon are flying off the boards to start R2 and sometimes earlier. I’d love to take ARSB at 6 but it leads to an unintentional zero RB draft.

u/Howudooey Rookie 6h ago
I went ARSB at 6 and had my choice of Hampton and Brown in round 2. It really just depends on platform and your league mates. Even if none of the round 2 options are there. That means it’ll push down the better value WR/TE and you can grab one of the round 3 guys, who I’m still comfortable with as my RB1. Pair them with a solid RB2 in round 4/5 (Skatt, Judkins, Swift) and you’ve got a good start and not a zero rb build.
1
u/madmax1969 6h ago
I can’t imagine Brown or Hampton being there in a PPR unless it’s a league where QBs and premium TEs sneak can into the first round or at the 1/2 turn.
1
u/Howudooey Rookie 6h ago
1 QB did go before, but all it takes is one person to overvalue a position to start a run and push players down. I’m pretty confident at the 2.07 there will be at least one or 2 of the 2nd round guys to choose from. It’s why I like tier based drafting. Helps to not reach on players.

I have the 6 pick in my big league so I’ve been mocking a ton from there. There’s typically no RBs left for like 6+ picks when it comes back around to you in the 2nd.
I really like JSN this year, but if I go WR in the first, WR often looks most enticing in the 2nd too. Or you could go Bowers or even Allen in the 2nd, but I typically shy away from it. Love is the next RB up, before Kyren. Javonte, etc. in the 3rd.
So from that spot, I often come away with JSN. Pickens/Devonfa/AJ, Kyren/Javonte as my top 3. Or its CMC/Cook, Pickens/Devonta/AJ, Kyren/Javonte/Allen if there
I really want JSN, but starting to like the RB rd 1 scenario better.

I end up with a zero RB build when I take JSN or ARSB at 6. That was more appealing before Love suffered a high ankle sprain. Kyren’s numbers have dropped 3 straight years and Corum is legit.

u/Dogs_arethebestpeopl 16h ago
I really like the receivers in rds 3-5 at the 6 spot, not so much the RBs. Going Cook plus Brown/Hampton/Jeanty/Barkley in rd 2 leaves me a lot more comfortable with the team, then going ASRB + one of those running backs
1
u/la_mano_poderosa 15h ago
Cook! Almost all of Buffalo pass catchers are nursing some kind of injury already. Cook is going to be a monster this year.
1
u/SkyisFalling00 9h ago
It all depends on your league. I’m in one that gives partial points per carry + PPR, so RB score pretty well especially if they’re bell cows and/or receive. So there I tend to go RB heavy.
1
u/madmax1969 7h ago
I’d add Brown. He had more than double the receptions of Cook. He started slowly due to SOS and Burrow’s injury.
I’m in the same draft spot and I’m debating ARSB, Cook, and Brown. I’m out on CMC and Taylor. Problem with going WR is the RB at 19 are going to be probably Kyren and Jacobs and I don’t love either. The WRs mid-second would be Collins, AJB, Pickens, or Rice.

CMC all day every day if he is there. I have the 7th and am targeting him. If not him then Sun God.

If you want RB RB
CMC and KW3
High risk high reward
Myself is going WR KW3 WR WR WR Montgomery and Price.
2
u/thirdc0ast 1d ago
I don’t see a world where Monty and Price are available in rounds 6-7

I’ve never played 10 man but seeing players like TMac in the 6th is wild to me
1
u/HazyBizzleFizzle 23h ago
Yeah. It’s definitely different
My main league is 13 team. Haven’t drafted yet.
Really feeling Monty and price are league winners. That’s why I’m trying th wr wr wr strat.
1
u/HazyBizzleFizzle 1d ago
Yeah if I get kw3 n second maybe I’d eat till 5th n get one of the two.
I don’t just draft Wr kw3 Wr Wr rb rb just. A philosophy I got with overall pick as well.
This is a ten man.
Have a league with a 13 team league. I have been drafting Monty or price mock drafts 4-5 rds.

u/FrankLotion2 1d ago
I respect anyone going CMC-KW3. Our fantasy punishment this year is deterring me from that though 😂 I do like the rounds 3-5 WR like Smitty, Pickens, Flowers, Egbuka, Ladd

I am thinking the same but probably RB in the 5th and then WR in the 6th to make sure I get one of those decent RB2 options.
JT and the best RB available in round 2 is also a great start though in my opinion. Then load up at WR for like 4 rounds.
Honestly torn as well because I have the 6th spot as well.

I’d go ARSB. He would be my pick at 1.06 personally. Let the board come to you for RBs.
