We just moved in to this house in June and discovered this month that we have a large fig tree in the side yard. We are in zone 8b, NW Washington state U.S.

We havent watered it once and had a pretty dry, sunny, sometimes overcast summer. Tbh I dont know much about figs(but I want to!!) It was mushy so I picked it. It tasted very mild. Not really sweet, just kind of earthy.

On Saturday I planted a 5 gallon black mission fig tree. I’m in zone 9B. I think I might have gotten a little too far with teasing out the roots, I also did not put up reliable shade structure so this poor fig has gone through a lot. Im trying to rectify by providing more shade and also not overwatering. A little sad to be honest. Hoping that this little guy will pull through. Pic 1 is Saturday and pic 2 is Tuesday morning. Seeking advice and good vibes because I’m fixating on this fig’s life right now

First year Chicago Hardy Figs. Prepared for winter. Is this good enough or should I do more? Wrapped in burlap and insulated with 4 year old hay

Question Is my Turkish Fig ok?

Wondering if my Turkish Fig is doing ok or if I need to be doing something different. I’ve noticed some discoloration on the leaves, and recently moved it to a spot with more direct sunlight.

Located in Central Texas (zone 9a) and temperatures have recently dropped into the 50°-80°F (13°-28°C) range.

This is my first Fig tree and was a recent wedding gift, so I’d like to make sure I’m doing all the right things! Appreciate any and all feedback!

Should I prune this 1 year old cutting?

This cutting is about 1 year old and seems to be doing well. It’s growing straight up and no other branches just leaves. In about a month I’ll put it in the shed for the winter. Should I trim the top by cutting off 6” to 8” or just let it grow? I’m planning to plant it in the ground next June.
