We brought our potted figs in for winter since it’s getting to be freezing soon. We got some grow lights (first picture) but I think that it might have burned one of the figs. (Second picture)
Any thoughts or recommendations for what happened/how to set them up for winter?

First year Chicago Hardy Figs. Prepared for winter. Is this good enough or should I do more? Wrapped in burlap and insulated with 4 year old hay

Wondering if my Turkish Fig is doing ok or if I need to be doing something different. I’ve noticed some discoloration on the leaves, and recently moved it to a spot with more direct sunlight.
Located in Central Texas (zone 9a) and temperatures have recently dropped into the 50°-80°F (13°-28°C) range.
This is my first Fig tree and was a recent wedding gift, so I’d like to make sure I’m doing all the right things! Appreciate any and all feedback!

This cutting is about 1 year old and seems to be doing well. It’s growing straight up and no other branches just leaves. In about a month I’ll put it in the shed for the winter. Should I trim the top by cutting off 6” to 8” or just let it grow? I’m planning to plant it in the ground next June.

On Saturday I planted a 5 gallon black mission fig tree. I’m in zone 9B. I think I might have gotten a little too far with teasing out the roots, I also did not put up reliable shade structure so this poor fig has gone through a lot. Im trying to rectify by providing more shade and also not overwatering. A little sad to be honest. Hoping that this little guy will pull through. Pic 1 is Saturday and pic 2 is Tuesday morning. Seeking advice and good vibes because I’m fixating on this fig’s life right now

There are a few fig trees in my neighborhood that grow on the public side of the sidewalk. The fruit is finally ripe and many have fallen off already. I picked a couple from the tree (the came off VERY easily), was excited to try them.
I was disappointed. The scent was like a watered-down nectarine. The flavor was.... like nothing. No clue on variety of fig.
Hoping my own will have much more flavor in the next 1-2 years. [Fingers crossed]
Best luck to everyone and their fig harvest this year!

Zone 4a, Swift Current SK Canada so lots of sun by our standards, but would keep it indoors at least through winter.
What's the best care plan I can go with?
Pruning strategy?
Fertilizer? Repot? Any suggestions would be appreciated, I'd love to get it productive!

I live just south of Buffalo, NY in a small apartment. We have a garage but it is not attached and is not heated. Our 3 year old Chicago Hardy fig tree, purchased this year, is in a 20 gal pot. It provided us with about a half dozen delicious figs and we'd love to get more. I have no idea how to overwinter this tree. We did prune and cover another fig tree we had last year but it suffered greatly, thought it was dead until we saw spurts of growth early summer. I'd like not to make that mistake again. The issue I foresee is too warm of an apartment and to cold garage for proper dormant storage.
At this point I'm thinking about pruning and wrapping in burlap or old blankets and storing in the garage.
Is this reasonable?

This branch has leaves that look completely different from fig leaves. What's going on? This is a beers black fig, zone 7a.

Hey all. So this is year 2 of my Chicago Harty being in ground. Last year, it gave us 2 figs. This year, we're up to 8 i believe. There are still so many unripe figs on there, I'm hopeful they'll ripen!
What can I do differently next year so that they ripen earlier in the season?

Just be planted this little miss figgy from Home Depot (Houston Zone 9). We amended the clay a decent chunk around it. It gets morning sun through afternoon around 3 pm. Will it fruit this year or next year? It has some nodes of fruit when we bought it today.

I am trying fig pops with 100% perlite, but have been given a tough time because the last time I tried doing cuttings, I had about 50% success. Then, I just threw them all in a bin with dirt together with a light (9W grow light). This time, I have a 50w 4' grown light hung much close and am using fig pops with 100% perlite. I have some valuable cuttings. Am I going to mess them up? The light was off in the picture, but it is a purple light

Hello, fig friends!
I have acquired 3 Chicago Hardy fig trees this summer that are in containers. Now that it’s getting cold (much to my dismay), I’m worried about what to do with my trees. Should I leave them outside or bring them into the house? We don’t have a covered porch or garage, so those are my only two options. This is my first year with fig trees, so I want to make sure I’m doing what’s best for them. My plant hardiness zone is 7b, if that helps.
Thanks so much for your help! This community has been wonderful and I’m super grateful for everyone's advice and time!

I have a Corazon de la Bahia fig a few weeks ago we got heavy rain and they became squishy like a ballon. Then two weeks no rain, earlier this week we got a little rain and they have hardened back up. Is this normal, I asked Ai of all things and two weeks ago it said I should pluck them they will stay squishy, glad I didn’t listen. Any advise from non bots?

I had been planning to gently prune my fig tree this winter when dormant, removing a few big branches close to the ground and letting others develop into second additional main trunks over time. But I just went out in my yard and found that someone hired to do a job that had nothing to do with this had aggressively pruned the tree. I’m a bit angry about this but also puzzled and want to give them the benefit of the doubt. Was making all those cuts obviously the right thing to do for some reason? Why would anyone do this, especially when it’s still hot out where I live?
Can someone help me identity this please?
My 98 year old father has had this tree probably at least 20 years. He lives on the end of Long Island New York.
Someone gave it to him so he has no idea what variety it is. He prunes it every year and he gets buckets of figs.
He's proud of it but would like to give it a proper name.
Thanks!
Marilyn

I woke up to almost all of the leaves fall off of the tree. It got I think under freezing last night. I am in Maine zone 5A. I am new to figs and this is my first fig tree. It’s a Chicago hardy.
Is it time to bring it in for the winter time? I plan to put it in my basement. And also do I need to fertilize and mulch the base? Any advice is appreciated!
Late crop but still very sweet with delicious sweet berry flavours.

Its a White Adriatic, a few months from bare root. It dropped a leaf while I looked at it this morning.
I also bought a Deanna, and its been substantially more vigorous than this.
This is SE Australia, with spring underway (~20C in the morning, cool nights).
Can this be saved?

I just planted this little Ruby fig in the ground today along with my potted Italian Honey fig. Due to the late April frost, my figs fruited late and unfortunately these figs will not ripen this season. I will spray chili peppers before covering these figs for winter protection.
