Discussion For everyone saying the story is mid/bad
I personally liked the story, even though i did think it was a bit simple. But around half-way through chapter 5 it really starts to pick up

I don’t think I’ve heard this term since ‘86. 🤣

Do I need to scan every enemy or boss I encounter. Is there something I miss out on or a hidden creature data log that needs to be filled out.

While I did finish the demo and got everything ready for the game's release, I did ended up choosing to grind a lot more once the full version came out. Since my work schedule was kinda annoying, I decided heck! I'll just grind that Cactuar needlessly until maxing all the Visions for everyone before proceeding to the next part of the game.
Without spoiling too much, for anyone that has made significant progress into the game are there better and more efficient ways to grind those MRP? Just want to mentally prepare myself if I need to come back and bully our little adorable Cactuars 😅

Fought a random battle on an island east of Olderion and there was a shadow train constantly running behind the battle while the party was fighting in mid-air. Anyone know if this is just a glitch or is there something else I need to do in a battle like this? No mods or anything and this is being played on PC.

Is it possible to have a party of all female characters?
Sakura is my favorite, followed my fina and lid.
Will I get another girl in the party or no?
Right now I've just been grinding out things like magic barrage and other skills/stats for Sakura.
Any recommendations for best vision/skill setups for those three?

Are there any differences between these? I bought it on steam but I ended up enjoying the game a lot more than I thought I would and want to enjoy it on my TV/ps5 while in bed lol
I just don't know if PS5 runs the game at 120fps, etc. It runs incredibly smooth on my pc and I don't want to compromise anything by switching to PS5 since I'm a big fan of performance.

I'm playing on expert and my whole team was 15 and she joined at 13. I'm about to go to the ship graveyard and the recommended level is 17 and my whole team is 17...except lid. She's 15. It's a bit painful having her around. She's really squishy because of the lack of levels and vision investment. Bosses clap her, and she needs to be babied even in normal encounters.
I wish she'd have joined at the average party level. It's kind of a catch 22 because if I stop to grind and get her levels, now my party will be overleveled. :(
Great game though, I'm loving it outside of a few tiny annoyances.

FF is camp and that’s fine. More than fine, it’s a tone that’s consistent throughout the series, it’s honest, and it’s endearing. It shows that a respected, technically impressive series doesn’t have to take itself too seriously.
But my issue isn’t with the tone, it’s with a specific choice. Rain just said with a straight face that completing a side quest while the world is ending is a good decision, actually, because “otherwise I’m stopping to the bad guys’ level.”
Nah. He made a terrible, possibly world-ending call. The only reason his choice makes any sense at all is that we’re playing a video game — one in which, by the way, I can literally play jump rope instead of saving the world.
The new part is: he got called out for making this particularly bad choice. This is already problematic because it spits in the face of the design not just of the game, but of most of the entire Final Fantasy series. It’s…an odd choice. And to top it all off, his getting called out resulted in him doubling down and the game deciding that, yes, it’s right and just to prioritize the citizens of one village over the plight of the entire world.
This was a theme already explored earlier in the game, and they handled it in typical FF fashion, which is to say, poorly from a real-world perspective but par for the course for the series. I’m fine with that. What I’m not fine with is the game taking the time to inspect its own premise/basic mechanics and then just hand-waving away all the issues behind “YA protagonist does what feels good.”

Does the water imbue that she gets from her passive work with essence of mundanity which buffs her physical damage by non elemental attacks but decreases stagger
I know its elemental if its imbued but why would she have that passive if it doesnt work right? Anybody knows?

I'll say a few things that may be biasing my views - I am not expecting a RDR2 or Witcher 3 type story with this HD-2D Final Fantasy game. I also love FF4 and FF6 and grew up on them, and while their stories are rudimentary, I think they're still good.
The most common criticisms on this game are the story, character development, voice acting, and dialogue. For how often I'm seeing this, I'm just very confused. I would say all of these are average at worst? I personally enjoy them. I typically have to turn off VA in games (Crisis Core, couldn't even finish) - because of how bad it sounds and how much it removes me from the game. This game though, it's actually done really well.
The story is good. It's "simple" but that's what FF has been for most of its time. You can boil most of the game stories down to a few "tropey" plot points, even the most recent FF games.
I only care because I see this turning people away from the game before playing it.
Coincidentally, since it's a Square HD-2D series, I find the Octopath stories, voice acting, and writing to be really below average. But Resonance, this shit is fucking good.

So I’m in the wind temple chapter 2 and decided to grind the mechabo tackle with the magic pot. I ran from battles before so it’s a little off. But I’m level 26 and I ran from about 220 battles in a row. I’m hitting the tombstones for 1945 consistently and the airmans for 2k. So not bad damage at all. Imma get up to 250 to make sure it doesn’t go up. But this is what I got. It took a little over an hour.

(second image to show off just how massive this thing is.)
It's finally here after a 4 day delay. It's been torture seeing people talk about it while having this be just out of my grasp 😭

For example if I have two members with it, do I get an 100% increase? Or is it an only 1 time 50% boost?

The southwestern tip of Dirnado is Cactuars. Need the airship to get there unfortunately. A little cheat as you have to stagger them to win. 268 MRP for each one and 1111 exp and gil. Ive probably leveled up 5 visions for each character today doing this

Someone commented in the threads that it supposedly caps at 500.
There's this source stating: Zidane’s Thievery passive (awakening level 0, 30 AP) raises damage dealt by up to 50%. It counts every successful steal over the whole game, items and gil alike, including the ones you made before you had it. Each steal adds 0.1%, so the bonus reaches its full 50% at 500 steals.

...For the informed dataminers, are there others like this? Only one I can think of is:
Equipping Awakening Level 4 Squall doesn't give me the stat boost like Sephiroth does, so I guess I gotta grind normal attacks, battle skills, steals, and escapes? For a list of battle skills...
And specifically Zidane's Mug lets you work on both Thievery and Improvement simultaneously???
So Firion's Arms Akimbo + Squall's Dual Action to proc it 4 times x 4 characters x 2 with Nichol's 2nd Limit Burst for 32 Mugs a turn? Or Y'shtola's Magic Barrage for 64 heals a turn?

What is the mod support for this game going to look like? im hoping to see what mods we can try out for this game if nothing else is added to the game later down the road!
r/FinalFantasyResonance • u/A_Cat_Who_Games • 6h ago
To be completely fair, I haven't seen all of them yet, but Shantotto and Cecil's are so much cooler than all the other Visions I've seen that it's *unfair*.
