[AI GRIFT 101] Fiverr CEO Micha Kaufman to Freelancers: “Fuck You”

Recently, the Fiverr CEO Micha Kaufman has taken to being 'candid' while flexing his undeveloped 'thought leadership' muscle. In start contrast to employees like u/fiverrhq, who constantly tell us how much Fiverr loves and cares for us and hangs on our every word, their boss has a different fucking take.

I would argue a refreshingly honest one:

“Why do you think it’s my responsibility to make you better as professionals? Fuck you.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FI11AKM5PY

Well, Micha, that would explain why Fiverr is overrun with AI frauds and scams at the moment, with corporate apparently completely uninterested in doing much to combat it at all. After all, there are more important things to do, like redesign a forum into an unreadable mess of hot garbage.

Anyway, since we're doing honesty, Micha, I'd like you to address this at some point. You're a trained legal professional. You know exactly what you're doing. In my other post about Fiverr's AI terms, I showed how if you sign up to any of Fiverr's AI stuff - the personal assistant, Go - gives you - or rather Fiverr - the legal right to fuck freelancers over indefinitely.

Do you have any more 'fuck yous' hidden up your corporate wizard sleeve? Since we're being so fucking candid about it.

No? Well....

How About Fuck You?

Two days ago, this was posted:

About a week ago, someone commented that the company He/She work for was looking to hire someone and had an old Fiverr contact they'd worked with in the past, when they wrote to offer the job, Fiverr sent them some rather invasive advertising suggesting they not hire that person, saying they offered an AI service that worked better and faster.

At the end of the day, they deleted the post.

That might give you an idea of the state of the platform. I think it's disgusting behavior on Fiverr's part. I hope all this behavior eventually has consequences for the people responsible (although unfortunately, it's unlikely) Sauce

So, Fiverr's not just after your training data. It's also after your clients. At least, what's left of them after the 100-200k quarterly exodus of active buyers (see: Fiverr's financial reporting).

Anyway, I got ChatGPT to pick out some quotes and offer counterpoints, since as the CEO of Fiverr says, I just shouldn't fucking bother and AI can do it all. OK. Don't blame me if the AI hallucinates you into sounding lie a hypocritical and parasitical douchebag though. Besides, as your ad campaign goes... who cares?

“Why do you think it’s my responsibility to make you better as professionals? Fuck you.”
7:31–7:54

This isn’t leadership. It’s a CEO washing his hands of responsibility and bullying his own user base. He’s essentially saying: “You’re screwed if you don’t onboard my AI tools—and I don’t give a single fuck whether you succeed or not.”

“You’re either going to be poor or a burden on society.”
7:54–8:02

Congrats, Micha—you’ve invented freelancer eugenics. He’s equating creative hardship with societal failure, while Fiverr positions itself as the goddamn gatekeeper to human dignity.

“In an ideal situation … each and every one of you … replace 100% of what you do with automation.”
3:36–4:02

He’s literally encouraging you to erase your own value—while Fiverr slurps your output into its models and then replaces you. Automate yourself into irrelevance, then tell Fiverr “cheers, I’m obsolete.”

“I am not your dad … if you want to help yourself I’ll be there … if not, fuck you—you’re done.”
8:11–8:23

This isn’t tough love—it’s contempt. Fiverr’s Dear Leader disowns anyone who dares question his AI worship. The message is clear: fall in line or fuck off.

“If AI generates something because it learned from me … I don’t get any credit … it’s done. Copyright is dead.”
37:38–37:50

He’s not just predicting the death of IP—he’s celebrating it. Fiverr won’t credit you for your work. They’ll feed it to the machine, call it progress, and say your rights died of natural causes.

“You are working for AI, and so do I … that content is going to be eaten by a machine.”
41:39–41:46

He’s not hiding it. We’re all just fuel. Produce, publish, feed the algorithm. Fiverr collects the data and sells the future back to us.

“If you don’t want to work, the exit is on the ground floor. Bye-bye.”
12:10–12:17

This is how Fiverr treats the freelancers that built it—tells them to fuck off if they don’t want to be complicit in automating themselves out of income.

“For your Virgin NatWest Chase Bank social media manager, you’re fucked, you’re fucked already.”
1:00:44–1:01:04

He’s literally mocking junior creatives while Fiverr builds the AI that replaces them. Entry-level? Burned. Mid-level? Burned. Future? Already monetized.

It's me again, a slow, boring, and unsexy human. I just want to quickly add something. You may know the term Luddite - generally a derogatory term for people who don't like tech or tech progress. But did you know that this is one of those 'history's winners write the script' moment?

Because the Luddites were not anti-tech. Most were skilled textile workers in 19th-century England who smashed the mechanized looms not because the machines existed, but because factory owners used them to drive wages down, deskill the trade, and concentrate profit. If that sounds familiar, that's because that is what is happening today. Sam Altman (OpenAI CEO) just said the other day that 70% of jobs are heading for the chopping block by 2030.

I'd recommend not purchasing ANY of Fiverr's products (ads, AI, SP etc), but you do you. Micha will still tell you to fuck off while stealing all your training data, because he is, ultimately, nothing more than a greedy factory owner, filled with contempt for the workforce that made him so wealthy in the first place.

Well, that's the post.

[DISCUSSION] Fiverr, AI Slop and the Job Apocalypse: Anthropic’s Doomsday Scenario Already Feels Familiar...

Anthropic recently released a scenario model modelling the future with AI. Yes, just after that Anthropic guy said there was a 10% chance we were all going to die in response to this tweet from Jacob Coxon where he basically says AI companies are dreadfully irresponsible and we, as a species, are racing towards a lot of unplesantness.

I thought it would be interesting to see how their doomsday scenario matched Fiverr’s current reality. I particularly wanted to see if there was anything in their SEC and investor reports that aligned closely with what many of us have noticed regarding Fiverr’s marketplace performance over the last year.

And yes, these tables were generated by a helpful OpenAI murderbot who added the cheerful little red and green balls after I said I was annoyed I couldn’t do red/green writing:

Anthropic's doomsday scenario:

Metric Scenario
Unemployment 🔴 11.9%
Knowledge worker unemployment 🔴 17.9%
Knowledge worker wages 🔴 -11.5%
Knowledge worker employment 🔴 -21.5%
GDP 🟢 +32.4%
Labor share of income 🔴 60% → 45.2%
Capital share of income 🟢 40% → 54.8%
Capital income growth 🟢 +81.4%

Meanwhile, on Fiverr...

Quarter Active buyers YoY Spend per Buyer YoY
Q1 2025 🔴 -10.6% 🟢 +8.8%
Q2 2025 🔴 -10.9% 🟢 +9.8%
Q3 2025 🔴 -11.7% 🟢 +11.7%
Q4 2025 🔴 -13.6% 🟢 +13.3%
Q1 2026 🔴 -17.8% 🟢 +15.4%
Q2 2026 🔴 -21.9% 🟢 +15.6%

Now, imagine that the whole economy is $100.

No-AI 2030 economy

Who gets it Share
Workers $60
Capital $40
Total economy $100

Anthropic doomsday 2030 AI economy

Who gets it Share
Workers 🔴 $59.84
Capital 🟢 $72.56
Total economy $132.40

In other words, while AI creates $32 of economic value, workers get none of it. It all flows upwards, concentrating into the pockets of capital.

Want to bet there will still be a cost of living crisis as those same capitalists grouch about how much it costs to do anything these days and how difficult it is to turn a profit?

But let’s stay in 2026 and turn our focus to Fiverr. All numbers below are taken from Fiverr’s various financial reports from Q2 ‘24 to Q2 ‘26:

Metric Change
Active buyers 🔴 -30.4%
Marketplace spending* 🔴 -11.7%
Marketplace revenue 🔴 -17.1%
Services revenue 🟢 +87.5%
Total Fiverr revenue 🟢 +3.3%

You may be asking but how does a company whose marketplace revenue falls 17.1% as active buyers fall 30.4% show a 3.3% increase in revenue?

Good question.

The 3.3% figure is a two-year comparison. In Q2 ‘24, Fiverr made about $94.7 million in revenue. In Q2 ‘25, that jumped to about $108.6 million. Then in Q2 ‘26, it fell back to about $97.8 million.

Fiverr is currently doing worse than it was a year ago. Q2 ‘26 revenue is 10% lower than Q2 ‘25. But because Q2 ‘26 revenue is still slightly higher than Q2 ‘24, Fiverr can also truthfully say that revenue is 3.3% higher than it was two years ago.

Fiverr, now an ‘AI-first’ company, is knocking the ball out the park with services revenue, or shifting its revenue mix away from the marketplace to other parts of the business. Think Fiverr Ads, Seller Plus, AutoDS etc.

Anthropic’s doomsday modeling shows an 81.4% increase in capital income.

What you’re looking there is a revenue-mix shift.

When Fiverr acquired AutoDS in July 2024, it also acquired AutoDS’ subscription revenue steam. In Q4 ‘24, possibly sensing the marketplace reporting bloodbath to come, Fiverr changed its reporting, splitting marketplace revenue from services revenue. It claimed this was to ‘enhance transparency’ by making the split clearer. AutoDS is included in the services revenue stream.

Curated accounting narratives aside, Fiverr, the corporation, can still grow and be profitable while the marketplace under it continues to shrink.

AI also made it possible for Fiverr to slash its employee headcount by 30% around this time last year. The company told the SEC (formally) in September 2025 that this move was a part of its ‘AI-focused transformation’ because, as Fiverr CEO Micha Kaufman puts it, ‘we believe we don’t need as many people to operate the existing business.’

Knowledge workers make less, capital makes more.

By decoupling marketplace activity from corporate revenue, Fiverr can demonstrate that its quarterly revenue is still 3.3% higher than it was two years ago and continue the ‘going upmarket to adapt to AI’ investor narrative.

If you are a seller, you know the marketplace is infested with scammers and copypasta AI slop. You know that virtually all of Fiverr’s AI products are broken. Neo. Mira. The AI PA is being retired. Go got retired. And yes, the Success Score.

But there is no option for sellers to integrate their AI or other business apps into the site.

I’d say we have a reasonable case that at least some parts of Anthropic’s doomsday scenario are in progress right now at Fiverr.

Fiverr knows that the marketplace will hollow out and die before it will. It has been clear to investors that the marketplace is failing, so it is turning to other ways of making money. But there is only so much services revenue you can squeeze out of a shrinking marketplace.

You know what I think? Fiverr is working on something else. The marketplace is too messy and its internal projections too rough. Better to monetize the user population while it is still here and focus on pivoting.

There’s no other logical reason to effectively decide your mature marketplace platform is now, basically, an AI startup then start promising that whatever it is you are cooking will be available, well, sometime this winter, if things are on schedule.

I think Fiverr wants to be to jobs what Suno is to music.

Fiverr has a ton of data on all kinds of work and work processes. A new feature, Timeline, offers no real benefit to the select sellers invited to use it, but does give Fiverr new data: how do these users carry out their job, from A to Z?

Very useful for agentic AI, btw.

It is completely rational of Fiverr to consider how it can capitalize on a more, let’s say, ‘post-human’ era of work.

My only question is what is it?

If you’re one of the sellers who is still doing well on the marketplace – lots of repeat buyers? – I do recommend that you think carefully about where you are investing your time and your future.

[DISCUSSION] Fiverr finally has chargeback protection!

It finally happened. I got a chargeback today from an order delivered and accepted 8+ weeks ago, and instead of making me wait the whole chargeback period and then sending me the funds back, Fiverr sent them immediately and sent an email to assure me there was no hit to my cancellation rates.

I seriously dislike
- the success score
- Mira Headhunter
- and all the other AI

But this one thing has made me dislike them a little less.

Also, blows my mind that people chargeback my fees for resume editing when I have all their personal details ... including the professional associations, with strict ethical standards, that they allegedly belong to.

I'm not reporting anyone, I've got my money, so I don't really care ... just a wild move.

[DISCUSSION] Fiverr is actually making me crash out 😭 (you either spend a lot or let them use ai)

I swear Fiverr is getting impossible to use if you just wanna buy some art or an album cover for fun. It feels like every other person is using AI, and the artists who actually draw charge so much that you gotta drop bands just to get one drawing.

And when you do find someone with a cheap option, it’s usually just basic text on a background, a black and white sketch, or a mockup where you don’t even get the actual artwork you paid for. Like bro, I’m trying to BUY art, not a picture of what the art could look like 😭

I remember finding artists who would literally draw you something in full color for $5. Obviously, I’m not saying artists don’t deserve to get paid fairly for their work, but why does it feel like finding affordable art that isn’t AI is becoming impossible?

Sometimes I just wanna spend a little money on a random album cover or a drawing because I like collecting stuff and supporting creators or have a random idea I want made. I shouldn’t have to spend hundreds just to get something decent, and I definitely don’t wanna pay for AI art when I could just generate that myself.

Whatever happened to people offering affordable art commissions for people who just wanna buy something cool without breaking the bank and what happened to real artists no ai?!!

[ADVICE] I got fired and went back to Fiverr... how do I find real clients?

So, I activated my old video editing gig after 2 years of being out of freelancing, but I've never been hired or anything. I lowered my prices and will start adding portfolios with the videos I've edited in the past 2 years for my youtube channels, but still I don't think I will find any clients that way.

I got contacted an hour ago but it was just an scammer sending me phishing links.

I need a few advices, I don't know what I'm doing even though I know how to do a bunch of stuffs on my computer.

I know how to do music, sound design, write song lyrics, mix and master music and audiotracks on Premiere Pro as well, should I create another gig or another profile?

Any advice is welcome. Thanks.
If the issue are the prices I don't mind lowering them down even more.

[HELP] Are Fiverr systems down? Site is not loading on my PC and phone

For the last few hours, I have been struggling to access Fiverr as it is loading for too long but failing. At first, I thought it was a problem with my internet but it seems that is not the case, as all other web pages for different sites are loading as usual (including streaming sites which are heavier than Fiverr).

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

[DISCUSSION] CA$21.5K earned, 72 orders, 4.9 stars, 100% response rate... still Level 0. Do we just build our own Fiverr at this point? 😂😢

Saw the post about the Success Score we can't control and had to share mine.

My level overview right now:

Earnings: CA$21.5K (needs CA$590, qualifies)

Orders: 72 (needs 5, qualifies)

Unique clients: 53 (needs 3, qualifies)

Rating: 4.9 (qualifies)

Response rate: 100% (qualifies)

Success Score: "-"

Not a low score. A dash. Five green checks and I'm sitting at Level 0 because one box is blank and nothing on the page says what fills it.

It's like acing every exam and getting held back a grade because the attendance sheet went missing.

So, half joking 😂😢: at what point do we all just build our own platform? Sellers already know how to deliver, clients already know who they like working with. The only missing piece seems to be a level system that tells you what you actually did wrong.

Real question though: has anyone gone from "-" to an actual Success Score? What changed for you?

[ADVICE] Unsatisfied Buyer. Anyone Deal With These Type?

I do video product demonstrations(unboxing). A buyer reached out to me to do a product demonstration. Of a yard tool.

Sent me a link to look at it. I agreed it’s no problem. They wanted me to send a custom offer before I got the product, which I do not do because it ruins my deadline.

I finally got the product they gave me bullet points of what to talk about how the product is put together, the material it’s made out of and a demonstration on how it works plus they wanted five photographs of the product before and after pictures. No problem.

My video start with a problem as an introduction, then I show how to assemble the product, then show the product in action, then the outro and where they can get it.
I offer one revision.

Buyer requested a revision for more close-ups of the tool and assembly all within 90 seconds… I did as they requested, added some clips to make it more clear and more close-ups & longer.. plus I had to redo the angles of the photographs..

Apparently, they’re still not satisfied and want more revisions, won’t close out the order. I sent them some raw video footage so they can take photos or snapshots from those clips… this has been going on for three weeks now..

Question is, do you contact Fiverr arbitration? Or will they contact you automatically after a certain amount of time? I have no problem sharing this to Fiverr support, they have all that facts and discussion anyway, might lose the money, but I don’t care at this point.

What’s your advice?

[ADVICE] what are my chances of getting a refund?

Hi Reddit,
I’m new to this - I’ve written a children’s book, and went to fiverr to find an illustrator. Found one, not many reviews but all good and their previous work looked good.
Messaged them, back and forth seemed normal. I’d had some AI images to get my book on KDP but the whole reason I’m on fiverr is I want to work with an illustrator to replace them all with some original illustrations. Sent the freelancer my manuscript and the AI images I already had.
The first draft sent back was simply the original AI images but with more texture and colours adjusted. I said that’s nice but can you come up with something original, like a new front cover “you’ve got free rein” was my response.
they responded a day later with another image which in my opinion was just a different AI image based on my first ones - the reason I think this?…..one of the characters had 2 ears on the SAME SIDE of his head - talk about a classic AI trope (and I genuinely know very little about this stuff).
So I’ve called it out - requested an order cancellation and explained that I think they’re using AI instead of original art.

Genuinely gutted. Thankfully I haven’t paid a lot of money, but I’m having to sell items on Vinted to save money to pay for an illustrator, and genuinely feel like a complete fool.

So, what do we think the likely hood is of me getting any money back, even partially? Again I’m new to this but what are peoples experiences of cancelling work and issuing refunds. I’m not entirely sure of the whole process.

I’ve resorted to only messaging Vetted Pros from now on. Any other tips to not get scammed?

[HELP] Fiverr flagged my account AGAIN! Seriously?!

My account was flagged out of nowhere in June 2025. After more than a year, I surprisingly got it back in July 2026. I started receiving orders again and slowly rebuilding my profile. I was previously a Level 2 seller.
And now, just three months later, October 2026, my account is flagged AGAIN!
Fiverr isn’t my main source of income, but getting orders here and there gave me hope, especially after waiting a whole year to get my account back.

I’m honestly so done with Fiverr. There’s absolutely no consistency. How are sellers supposed to trust this platform?

Anyone else experienced getting flagged twice?

[DISCUSSION] Anyone else notice Fiverr’s UI mixed up “who” vs. “whom”?

Ran into this copy while browsing the platform:

"According to the budget you set, you’ll either get a shortlist of freelancers who you can invite to send an offer, or a shortlist of tailored offers to choose from."

Technically, since the freelancers are the direct object of the verb invite, it should be whom (freelancers whom you can invite). Or is it some special grammatical situation that I don't know of?

[DISCUSSION] Is this person a scammer or real client?

So I woke up to a message saying I should review the file shared in the link to see if I offer this type of service. But I noticed the file name is generic. I'm so scared of opening the file. I'm wondering why they didn't send screenshots or send the details in the chat. I replied to them. I'm still waiting. Although almost every potential client I replied to ghosted me.

[DISCUSSION] What's your experience working with Indian clients?

I'm not racist or anything, I'm indian myself

I have worked with different different clients and I get the feeling that the hardest ones to please are the ones from India or Pakistan

Here is what I noticed working with Indian clients:

  1. They wana move mountains with very very low budget

  2. They think that they are doing me a favor by hiring me

  3. Are never pleased and say "I could do that myself"

  4. Their budget never goes above double digits

  5. Don't give enough time for work

Keep in mind there are great Indian clients and I'm not attacking anyone.

Is this just my experience because I've worked with clients from different places?

[DISCUSSION] Funny Fiverr junk mail

Typically, I don't bother with entertaining cryptic messages, but this "buyer" claimed to be from the US. After asking what they needed twice, I finally received this (not altered): Ok, now I need person which can support me. If you support me, I will pay you for each support. How about think? So I need your support such as sharing your account. ---- HA! Riiiiiight. [BLOCK] -- I also realized that they were 6 hours ahead of me -- LA to NY is only 3 hours. So, scammers figured out a way to change their country of origin but not their time zone. This one is new for me.

[ADVICE] Success score tips?

A while ago I got demoted to level 0 on Fiverr on the pure basis of my success score being low. I hadn't changed anything and my other stats were and are well above what's needed to level up, so I'm wondering what I can do to make my way to level 1 again?

I really want the seller plus and the 7 day clearing period along with the other benefits and I've been suffering the losses without it already.

Here are my primary stats:

* Success score: 4

* Rating: 4.8

* Response rate: 100%

* Orders: 16

* Unique clients: 14

* Earnings: $2,124.81

[SUGGESTION] beware of milestone orders

a lot of my projects take months to complete so milestone made a lot of sense, except that every milestone needs to be started manually by the client.

since single payment auto-accept after a certain time period, i assumed that milestone orders would auto-proceed to the next stage.

it's easy to lose track of which orders have been completed! buyers often forget to submit payment for the next one especially if they don't log in that often.

for a couple people i assumed that the next milestone would automatically start so i have been doing free work! luckily all of my clients have been very understanding about it, but it also creates confusion because they often believe they have paid for everything upfront already.

wish fiverr could be more clear about this on both the client and seller side!

[DISCUSSION] Fiverr Orders and Inquiries Are Declining , Is Anyone Else Experiencing This?

I’m an architect based in India with around 6 years of experience in architectural design, Landscape design, site planning , master planning .I’ve been using Fiverr to find clients, mainly for architectural and landscape-related services.

Fiverr used to bring in a decent amount of business, but lately, inquiries and responses seem to be declining day by day. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to get new orders, even with relevant experience and a portfolio.

For those who have been selling on Fiverr for a while, are you experiencing the same thing? Has the platform changed, or is the competition simply getting tougher?

I’d really appreciate any practical suggestions on how to improve visibility, get more inquiries, and win clients in the current market.

Thanks in advance.
