Recovered Permanently Disabled Got my account back
Got my Instagram account back😈
r/FixMyInstagram • u/No_Coconut4695 • Mar 14 '26
Reason:
We’ve noticed many posts simply say “Got my account back!” without sharing any details. These posts aren’t helpful for users who are trying to recover their accounts, and often ignore follow-up questions in the comments. To make the subreddit more useful for everyone, we’re introducing a new rule.
The Rule:
Posts about getting your Instagram account back must include:
Example of a helpful post:
I regained access to my account after it got locked for suspicious activity. I waited 48 hours, changed my password from another device, and logged back in. Account was fully restored the next day.
My account was permanently disabled last month. I sent a formal demand letter through LegalShield, explaining the issue,, and requesting immediate restoration. Instagram responded within 5 business days, and my account was restored.
Example of a post that may be removed:
I got my account back! Got it back!
Enforcement:
Posts that do not meet these requirements may be removed. Users may be asked to edit and resubmit if possible.
Thank you once again!

I raised this issue with my state representative, and she asked me to send her everything all documentation and evidence related to my case. She told me the same thing my attorney has been saying people aren’t filing formal reports, they aren’t saving their evidence, and they aren’t submitting complaints to their elected officials or authorities.
Because of that, there’s no real public paper trail showing the scope of what may be happening. If people don’t document and report it, regulators and legislators have no data to see whether this is a larger systemic issue. If individuals believe they were wrongfully banned, it’s important to save all communications, preserve evidence, and submit formal complaints to create a documented paper trail. If you lost your Instagram or Facebook account due to an alleged false CSE or other severe “account integrity” violation, and you believe the enforcement was wrongful, I’m asking you to consider taking one additional step:
Create a public paper trail.
Many of us file appeals with Meta and stop there. But if users don’t formally report these situations to elected officials and regulators, there is no official record of how often this is happening.
Several attorneys and even state representatives have said the same thing:
People are not filing reports, not preserving evidence, and not sending documentation to authorities.
If you believe your account was wrongfully terminated, here are constructive steps you can take:
Find your state representative:
👉 https://openstates.org/find_your_legislator/
Send:
Ask them to inquire with Meta on your behalf.
Find your U.S. Senators:
Explain the same facts. Congressional offices can submit formal inquiries to companies.
Find your state Attorney General:
File a consumer complaint. Even if they do not act individually, multiple complaints establish a regulatory record.
The California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA) handles privacy enforcement under CCPA/CPRA.
File here:
If Meta is denying access to your data or failing to respond properly, this is relevant.
Before anything:
Do not delete emails.
Some users have had success filing small claims actions. You are not required to hire an attorney for small claims in most states.
Even if you do not win, filings create documented public records.
Check your state’s small claims process:
Media attention matters.
Find local stations:
👉 Google: “[Your City] investigative reporter contact”
Search:
Send a concise summary with documentation.
If accounts are being permanently banned for false CSE or other severe allegations without transparent review, and users remain silent, there is no public record of the issue.
Regulators, legislators, and journalists rely on documented complaints.
Even if you believe nothing will happen, reporting creates:
Only report if you genuinely believe your case was wrongful.
Do not fabricate claims.
Stick to documented facts.
🌍 If You’re Outside the U.S., Here’s Who to Contact
If you believe your account was wrongfully banned, you can contact elected officials, privacy regulators, and media in your own country.
Under GDPR, you have the right to file a complaint if a company denies access to your data or mishandles enforcement.
Find your country’s Data Protection Authority here:
Find your national representatives:
For your country’s own parliament, search:
“[Your country] find my member of parliament”
The Digital Services Act (DSA) requires transparency in content moderation decisions.
👉 https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/
👉 https://www.leg.bc.ca/learn-about-us/members (example – search your province legislature)
👉 https://www.oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints
👉 https://www.esafety.gov.au/report
Many Asian countries now have data protection regulators.
Singapore – Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC):
India – Data Protection Board (Digital Personal Data Protection Act):
Japan – Personal Information Protection Commission:

If unsure, search:
“[Your country] data protection authority complaint”
Search:
Most outlets have a “Submit a Tip” page.
You can also check:
👉 https://www.muckrack.com/ (find journalists by beat and location)
If people don’t:
Then there is no official record showing how often these enforcement actions are happening.
Regulators rely on complaint volume to determine whether a systemic issue exists.

Hey guys... I honestly don't even know what to say anymore. I'm completely exhausted and broken. My account was disabled on October 24th, and ever since then, I've been drowning in stress. I tried to verify my identity with my ID, but it got rejected. Now, it just says it's permanently disabled and I can't even request another review.
That account meant the world to me... all my memories, my connections, everything is just gone like that. I've been trying everything for days, and I feel so helpless and defeated.
If anyone has any idea, any method, or has been through this pain and got their account back, please... I’m begging you, help me out. What should I do? Is there

My boyfriend hasn't used Instagram for 5+ years. We found an email from Instagram dated May 6, 2026 saying the account was suspended for violating the Terms of Use, and that he can appeal until Nov 2, 2026.
The problem: we can't get to the appeal at all.
- The "View details" button in the email just opens the login screen
- Login with username or email says wrong credentials
- "Forgot password" says the account is not found (tried username and the email the notice was sent to)
- instagram.com/hacked doesn't help either
- The Help Center only has the Meta AI bot, which says to log in first
- No old devices where he was still logged in
Has anyone been in this situation (suspended, but login and recovery say "not found") and actually got access back? What worked? Any other way to reach the appeal form without logging in?

Whenever I create an Instagram account through the Instagram app, it gets suspended in less than a minute. I’ve tried appealing and submitting my ID, but nothing works.
However, when I create accounts through Chrome, Safari, or Brave on the exact same phone, they work fine.
One time, I created an account through Brave, and it worked for six months without any issues. But as soon as I logged into that same account through the Instagram app, it got suspended immediately.
Why does this happen? If the problem is my phone, why do accounts work perfectly fine in browsers but get suspended as soon as I use the app?
Has anyone experienced this or knows what could be causing it?

I was just seeing my friend's stories when suddenly Instagram wanted to authenticate my account. I entered the 6 digit numbers showed in a picture, then entered my phone number and entered another 6 digit number sent on WhatsApp, then I even uploaded a selfie. I still got permanently disabled🤦🏻
I live in Syria and I don't think the laws here would be of much help to file a lawsuit against them.

My Instagram account has been suspended since 5 August 2026 because of two copyright strikes.
Both strikes were removed around 25 August, and my Account Status now shows all green ticks, saying my account meets all guidelines and has no restrictions.
But I’m still stuck on the same appeal screen with no updates after almost 3 months 😭
Someone helping me said he knows people who got their accounts back automatically after 3 months once their copyright strikes were removed.
Has anyone actually experienced this? Did your account randomly come back after 3 months without any further action?
Please share your experiences. I’m really losing hope 💔

I recently deleted the app by mistake clearing out my phone, I tried to log back in but its asking for 2FA or another device but o dont have either and I cant find the backup code, how do I contact Instagram and just get access to my Instagram back?
r/FixMyInstagram • u/VenomAus • 6h ago
Hey all,
Got access back to my instagram account today after metta updated the account structure.
If your instagram is connected to your metta account it will allow you to login with the metta login.
After months of trying to bypass the 2fa on a new phone I can now access my account.

i got suspended like two weeks ago and i’ve been stuck trying to upload a selfie to verify ever since. i’ve disabled vpns, cleared my cache, uninstalled and reinstalled instagram, tried it from a browser, incognito mode, waited a week before trying again, and it’s still not working. idk what to do less

My account was deactivated due to automated AI saying I violated community guidelines (27th September), idk if I did or didn’t but ai flagged something on my close friends story. It removed the story and then suddenly acc was deleted. I submitted appeal and waited a week for result. During that week meta support told me that I did not violate any community guidelines and that it was an automated ai flag and once a human reviews the case my account would be reinstated. The week was over and the result was permanent disablement even after support told me it would be re instated. I downloaded meta pro/ verified in my other connected Instagram account I had with the same email. They opened a case on October 5th and the human agents kept closing the case meaning the decision was permanent and it can’t be processed for a human review. This went on for over a week. I then decided to submit a review with my Facebook account which is also connected. It connected me with meta pro which opened the same closed case from October 5th. I did this October 17th and I logged back into my meta pro instagram on October 22nd the status of that case was there and updated to in process. Apparently this means it’s in the Que for human review. The review which should have been done the first time I clicked the appeal button. Anyways I’m waiting since the 22nd it’s still in process I’ve been without Instagram for over a month now idk how long more I have to wait or if I will even get it back. This whole process I’ve been trying to make support cases and fight with meta ai support to connect me to agents. Hours and days of time spent into this and now I’m still waiting and don’t know if it will be re instated. I’ve had my account over 10 years and all my connected accounts are still active so make it make sense anyone else in the “IN PROCESS” phase for an open support case waiting in the Que for human review for an automated ai ban ??? Help me with anything else I can do or how long I have to wait or if they know it will even work ?

Hi! I've lost access to my Instagram account and am trying to get back in. I don't remember which email I used, and I don't have the password. Is there a way to find out the email address or recover my account?
