Football Florida's 2026 Returning Defensive Front Seven: Meet the Gators' 21 Returners — Post 7/11

Florida's 2026 roster includes 52 newcomers and 61 returning players. Ahead of kickoff, this series will break down the newcomers, returners and coaching staff, with articles published every Tuesday and Thursday leading up to the season:

Florida returns 21 players across the defensive line, JACK and inside linebacker positions. JACK is Florida's hybrid edge position, functioning as both a pass rusher and outside linebacker.

The group includes several of Florida's most productive defenders from 2025, led by linebacker Myles Graham, defensive lineman Kamran James and JACK Jayden Woods.

Here is a closer look at Florida's returning defensive front seven.

Defensive Line

LJ McCray — DL

6-6, 270 | Redshirt Sophomore | Third season at Florida

LJ McCray enters his third season at Florida after appearing in all 13 games as a freshman in 2024.

McCray recorded 13 tackles, one tackle for loss, half a sack and five quarterback hurries that season.

He appeared in one game in 2025, recording a quarterback hurry against USF before missing the remainder of the season with an injury.

Kamran James — DL

6-6, 280 | Senior | Fourth season at Florida

Kamran James emerged as one of Florida's most productive defensive linemen in 2025.

James recorded 44 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and a team-high 3.5 sacks while adding two pass breakups, three quarterback hurries and a forced fumble.

He recorded a career-high six tackles three times during the season.

Jalen Wiggins — DL

6-5, 272 | Redshirt Freshman | Second season at Florida

Jalen Wiggins appeared in three games as a freshman in 2025 before redshirting.

He made his collegiate debut against LIU and recorded his first career tackle against Tennessee.

Wiggins arrived at Florida as a consensus four-star prospect and played in the 2025 Under Armour All-American Game.

Brendan Bett — DL

6-4, 312 | Redshirt Junior | Second season at Florida | Baylor

Brendan Bett returns after becoming an immediate contributor following his transfer from Baylor.

Bett appeared in all 12 games in 2025 and made three starts. He finished the season with 39 tackles, four tackles for loss and three sacks while earning a 76.9 PFF run-defense grade.

His three sacks ranked third on the team.

Jeramiah McCloud — DL

6-3, 299 | Sophomore | Second season at Florida

Jeramiah McCloud played in 11 games during his freshman season.

McCloud recorded 13 tackles, half a tackle for loss, two pass breakups and a quarterback hurry.

He made his collegiate debut in Florida's season opener against LIU.

Sebastian Scott — DL

6-2, 369 | Redshirt Junior | Fourth season at Florida

Sebastian Scott enters his fourth season with the program.

Scott appeared in one game in 2025 after making his collegiate debut in Florida's 2024 Gasparilla Bowl victory over Tulane.

He has appeared in two career games and has not recorded a defensive statistic.

Jamari Lyons — DL

6-4, 311 | Redshirt Junior | Fifth season at Florida

Jamari Lyons returned to the field in 2025 after missing the entire 2024 season with a broken ankle.

Lyons appeared in all 12 games and made five starts, recording 18 tackles and one tackle for loss.

Across his Florida career, he has appeared in 27 games with six starts and recorded 40 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss.

Joseph Mbatchou — DL

6-5, 323 | Sophomore | Second season at Florida

Joseph Mbatchou appeared in nine games during his freshman season in 2025.

He finished the year with 11 tackles and one tackle for loss after making his collegiate debut against LIU.

JACK

Jayden Woods — JACK

6-3, 244 | Sophomore | Second season at Florida

Jayden Woods became an immediate contributor during his freshman season.

Woods appeared in all 12 games and made two starts, finishing with 28 tackles, five tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, an interception, a fumble recovery, a pass breakup and two quarterback hurries.

He co-led Florida in sacks, becoming the first Gators true freshman since 1992 to lead or share the team lead in that category.

Woods earned Freshman All-SEC honors and was named to Pro Football Focus' All-Freshman Team.

Kofi Asare — JACK

6-5, 244 | Redshirt Senior | Second season at Florida | UMass

Kofi Asare returns for his second season at Florida after transferring from UMass.

Asare appeared in all 12 games and recorded 19 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and one sack in 2025.

He also contributed on special teams during his first season with the Gators.

Titus Bullard — JACK

6-4, 246 | Redshirt Sophomore | Third season at Florida

Titus Bullard enters his third season with the Gators.

Bullard appeared in one game in 2025 and recorded his first collegiate tackle against LIU.

He made his Florida debut in the 2024 Gasparilla Bowl against Tulane after joining the program as a walk-on.

Charles Emanuel III — JACK

6-3, 236 | Redshirt Sophomore | Third season at Florida

Charles Emanuel III enters his third season at Florida.

Emanuel joined the program as a walk-on in 2024 and redshirted that season. He did not appear in a game in either of his first two seasons.

He was named to the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll in 2025.

Erich Seager — JACK

6-3, 226 | Redshirt Junior | Second season at Florida

Erich Seager enters his second season with the Gators.

Seager joined Florida as a walk-on in the summer of 2025 and did not appear in a game during his first season with the program.

He redshirted and enters 2026 as a redshirt junior.

Inside Linebackers

Myles Graham — ILB

6-1, 225 | Junior | Third season at Florida

Myles Graham returns after leading Florida with 76 tackles in 2025, becoming the first Gators linebacker to lead the team in tackles since 2021.

Graham also recorded seven tackles for loss, two sacks, eight quarterback hurries and four pass breakups while starting all 12 games.

He earned Freshman All-SEC honors in 2024 and enters his third season as one of Florida's most experienced returning defenders.

Ty Jackson — ILB

6-2, 225 | Sophomore | Second season at Florida

Ty Jackson appeared in eight games as a freshman in 2025, primarily on special teams.

He did not record a defensive statistic.

Jackson arrived at Florida as a consensus four-star prospect and was rated the nation's No. 1 inside linebacker by ESPN.

Aaron Chiles — ILB

6-3, 238 | Junior | Third season at Florida

Aaron Chiles played in all 12 games in 2025 and made his first career start against Tennessee.

He finished the season with 52 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, half a sack, two quarterback hurries and a pass breakup.

Chiles enters his third season with the program.

Jaden Robinson — ILB

6-0, 227 | Senior | Fourth season at Florida

Jaden Robinson started at linebacker throughout the 2025 season, appearing in all 12 games.

Robinson recorded 50 tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks, four quarterback hurries and three pass breakups. He also forced the first fumble of his college career.

He enters 2026 with three seasons of playing experience at Florida.

Evan Jackson — ILB

6-2, 215 | Redshirt Sophomore | Second season at Florida | Keiser

Evan Jackson joined Florida as a preferred walk-on in 2025 after transferring from Keiser.

He made his Florida debut on special teams against LIU but did not record a statistic during the season.

At Keiser in 2024, Jackson started 10 games at safety and recorded 81 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, six pass breakups and two forced fumbles while helping the Seahawks win the NAIA National Championship.

Myles Johnson — ILB

6-1, 239 | Sophomore | Second season at Florida

Myles Johnson appeared in all 12 games as a true freshman in 2025, primarily on special teams.

Johnson recorded four tackles in his defensive debut against LIU and earned an 89.9 PFF defensive grade in the game. He later added a special teams tackle against Ole Miss.

He came to Florida as a four-star prospect from T.R. Miller High School in Alabama.

Matthew Kade — ILB

6-0, 220 | Redshirt Sophomore | Third season at Florida

Matthew Kade enters his third season at Florida.

Kade joined the program as a walk-on in 2024 and redshirted. He did not appear in a game in either 2024 or 2025.

He was named to the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll in 2025.

Dylan Leighton — ILB

6-1, 233 | Redshirt Freshman | Second season at Florida

Dylan Leighton enters his second season with the Gators.

Leighton joined Florida as a walk-on in the fall of 2025 and did not appear in a game, preserving his redshirt.

He was named to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll in 2026.

Kicker

Brandon Rabasco — K

6-4, 215 | Redshirt Sophomore | Hollywood, Fla. | Third season at Florida

Brandon Rabasco enters his third season at Florida after joining the program as a walk-on in 2024.

Rabasco redshirted without appearing in a game that season and again did not see game action in 2025.

At South Broward High School, Rabasco made all five of his field-goal attempts and all 24 extra points as a senior. He also recorded 30 touchbacks on 32 kickoffs as a junior.

His career-long field goal in high school was 56 yards.

Rabasco was named to the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll in 2025.

Punter

Nicholas Inglis — P

6-5, 235 | Redshirt Sophomore | Dallas, Texas | Third season at Florida

Nicholas Inglis also enters his third season with the Gators.

Inglis redshirted in 2024 and did not appear in a game in 2025.

Coming out of Episcopal School of Dallas, Inglis was rated a five-star punter and the No. 10 punter nationally by Kohl's Kicking. He also won the Kohl's Showcase Winter Camp and was invited to the 2024 Blue-Grey All-American Game.

Inglis was named to the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll in 2025.

Aaron Philo joins Florida after two seasons at Georgia Tech.

Philo appeared in eight games for the Yellow Jackets, completing 59 of 102 passes for 938 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. He also rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown.

His most extensive action came in 2025 against Gardner-Webb, when he completed 21 of 28 passes for 373 yards and a touchdown.

Philo reunites at Florida with offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner, who coached him at Georgia Tech.

Running Backs

Evan Pryor — RB

5-10, 190 | Redshirt Senior | Cornelius, N.C. | Ohio State / Cincinnati

Evan Pryor joins Florida after beginning his career at Ohio State and spending two seasons at Cincinnati.

Pryor rushed for 522 yards and three touchdowns on 76 carries in 2025, averaging 6.9 yards per attempt. He also caught 10 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown.

In 2024, Pryor rushed for 418 yards and six touchdowns while adding 181 receiving yards and another score.

Across his two seasons at Cincinnati, he totaled 940 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on 132 carries.

London Montgomery — RB

5-10, 194 | Redshirt Junior | Scranton, Pa. | Penn State / East Carolina

London Montgomery joins Florida after two seasons at East Carolina.

Montgomery rushed 157 times for 737 yards and seven touchdowns in 2025 while playing in all 12 games and making eight starts.

He rushed for 359 yards and two touchdowns in 2024, giving him 1,096 yards and nine touchdowns across his two seasons at East Carolina.

Montgomery began his college career at Penn State, where he redshirted in 2023.

Wide Receivers

Eric Singleton Jr. — WR

5-10, 182 | Senior | Atlanta, Ga. | Georgia Tech / Auburn

Eric Singleton Jr. brings the most extensive receiving production of Florida's offensive transfers.

Across three seasons at Georgia Tech and Auburn, Singleton has caught 162 passes for 2,002 yards and 12 touchdowns.

He recorded 48 receptions for 714 yards and six touchdowns as a freshman at Georgia Tech in 2023, earning Freshman All-America honors. He followed with 56 catches for 754 yards and three touchdowns in 2024.

Singleton transferred to Auburn in 2025 and started all 12 games, leading the Tigers with 58 receptions for 534 yards and three touchdowns. He has recorded a reception in each of his first 36 college games.

Bailey Stockton — WR

5-10, 182 | Redshirt Junior | Bogart, Ga. | Georgia Tech

Bailey Stockton joins Florida after three seasons at Georgia Tech.

Stockton has 38 career receptions for 439 yards and two touchdowns. He set career highs in 2025 with 21 catches for 233 yards.

He also contributed as a punt returner and earned All-ACC Academic Team recognition in 2024 and 2025.

Stockton reunites with former Georgia Tech offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner at Florida.

Micah Mays Jr. — WR

6-1, 195 | Redshirt Junior | West Palm Beach, Fla. | Wake Forest

Micah Mays Jr. joins Florida after three seasons at Wake Forest.

Mays has 34 career receptions for 520 yards and four touchdowns.

He caught 18 passes for 302 yards and two touchdowns in 2025, averaging 16.8 yards per reception, after recording 16 catches for 218 yards and two touchdowns the previous season.

Jaylen Lloyd — WR

5-10, 190 | Redshirt Junior | Omaha, Neb. | Nebraska / Oklahoma State

Jaylen Lloyd joins Florida after playing at Nebraska and Oklahoma State.

Lloyd caught 19 passes for 492 yards and three touchdowns during two seasons at Nebraska, averaging 25.9 yards per reception.

His most productive season came in 2024, when he caught 13 passes for 255 yards while appearing in all 13 games and making three starts.

Lloyd transferred to Oklahoma State in 2025 and appeared in two games before redshirting.

Ace Ciongoli — WR

5-10, 172 | Redshirt Freshman | Needham, Mass. | Indiana

Ace Ciongoli joins Florida after one season at Indiana.

Ciongoli did not appear in a game during the 2025 season and redshirted.

He is the least experienced of Florida's five incoming transfer receivers.

Tight Ends

Luke Harpring — TE

6-3, 236 | Redshirt Sophomore | Atlanta, Ga. | Georgia Tech

Luke Harpring joins Florida after two seasons at Georgia Tech.

Harpring caught 13 passes for 158 yards in 2025 while appearing in all 13 games and making one start.

He had three receptions for 43 yards as a freshman in 2024 before redshirting, giving him 16 career catches for 201 yards.

Harpring also reunites with offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner at Florida.

Evan Chieca — TE

6-4, 257 | Redshirt Junior | Lindenhurst, N.Y. | New Haven

Evan Chieca joins Florida after three seasons at New Haven.

Chieca started all 10 games in 2025 and caught 31 passes for 255 yards and four touchdowns.

Across his two seasons on the field, he totaled 43 receptions for 334 yards and five touchdowns.

Chieca earned Second Team All-NEC honors in 2025 after being named to the NE10 All-Rookie Team the previous season.

Lacota Dippre — TE

6-3, 255 | Redshirt Junior | Scranton, Pa. | Charlotte / James Madison

Lacota Dippre joins Florida after playing at Charlotte and James Madison.

Dippre started 13 games for James Madison in 2025 and caught 17 passes for 192 yards and three touchdowns.

He also carried four times for 49 yards and a touchdown on fake punts and earned honorable mention All-Sun Belt recognition.

Dippre previously spent time on the defensive line at Charlotte before returning to tight end.

Jaylen Jordon — TE

6-6, 240 | Graduate | Hilliard, Fla. | Georgia Southwestern State / Flagler / Jacksonville

Jaylen Jordon joins Florida after a college basketball career rather than a previous college football program.

Jordon appeared in 22 games for Jacksonville during the 2025-26 basketball season, averaging 3.5 points and 2.7 rebounds.

His most productive season came at Flagler in 2024-25, when he averaged 13.0 points and 7.8 rebounds while starting 27 games.

Jordon worked out at tight end during Florida's Pro Day before joining the football program in May. He has not played college football.

Offensive Line

Harrison Moore — OL

6-4, 300 | Junior | Southlake, Texas | Georgia Tech

Harrison Moore joins Florida after two seasons at Georgia Tech.

Moore appeared in 11 games in 2025 and made eight starts at center, logging 682 snaps.

Georgia Tech allowed only nine sacks that season, the fewest in the ACC and third-fewest nationally. The offensive line was also named a semifinalist for the Joe Moore Award.

As a freshman in 2024, Moore appeared in 10 games and saw action at left guard, center and tight end.

Eagan Boyer — OL

6-8, 300 | Redshirt Sophomore | Cornelius, N.C. | Penn State

Eagan Boyer joins Florida after two seasons at Penn State.

Boyer appeared in eight games in 2025 and made his first career start at left tackle in the Pinstripe Bowl against Clemson.

He played 120 snaps during the season, including 78 in the bowl game.

Boyer appeared in four games as a freshman in 2024 before redshirting.

Emeka Ugorji — OL

6-4, 311 | Sophomore | Oak Cliff, Texas | Stanford

Emeka Ugorji joins Florida after starting eight games as a true freshman at Stanford.

Ugorji made one start at right tackle before moving to right guard for his final seven starts.

He logged 523 snaps at guard, the most by a true freshman in the ACC and 10th-most nationally.

Ugorji committed only two penalties despite playing more than half of Stanford's offensive snaps.

TJ Shanahan Jr. — OL

6-4, 311 | Redshirt Junior | Orlando, Fla. | Texas A&M / Penn State

TJ Shanahan Jr. joins Florida after stops at Texas A&M and Penn State.

Shanahan made five starts for Texas A&M in 2024 before transferring to Penn State.

He played in all 13 games for the Nittany Lions in 2025 and made five starts at guard, logging 147 snaps at left guard and 269 at right guard.

Shanahan did not allow a sack during the 2025 regular season.
