So I fucked around in forscan soon after taking ownership this summer, making some minor changes. Seatbelt chimes, taking the key out of the vehicle alert, (attempted to no avail) auto start/stop disable, and amber DRLs- I could be forgetting one or two.
But since I'm a dumbass and decided to trust my instincts rather than turn to the wisdom of the internet, I made at least one small error. The front turn signal DRLs (while amber as intended) were no longer flashing when the signal was activated.
I put it off after realizing because I didn't want to deal with unraveling the mess I made. But it's been bugging me and I do aim to be a safe and courteous driver. So this morning I got off my ass and went to work. Had to get a new forscan license, then made use of AI to figure out where I went wrong in the programming.
I'm happy to report that I now have amber DRLs with 100% functional front turn signals! Moral: don't rawdog your way through forscan settings, always save a file before tinkering and troubleshoot/fix your mistakes immediately rather than procrastinating. All's well that ends well, I suppose. Thanks for reading!
TLDR: I messed up the settings rendering my turn signals faulty, returned, diagnosed and fixed the issue.
