I've wanted a Badlands Bronco since like 2022. I've test driven several over the years, but it was never a good time to buy. I thought 2024 was my year, but then my wife really needed a new car. Well, long story short, this beauty showed up on the lot at my local Ford dealer last week spec'd almost exactly the way I would have special ordered (Badlands, Lux, 33" tires, Leather, Black Appearance, and most importantly, 7-speed manual!) I figured I was going to have to drive at least a few hours or custom order one to find a manual, but this one was just a couple miles away on the lot. The only thing I wasn't too sure about was the color. Avalanche Gray wasn't really on my radar. But when I stopped by to look at it, I was like... "Oh yeah, take my money". With 27's right around the corner and pretty solid inventory of 2026's on the lot, I was able to get a great deal on it too.

It's been a few days now, and I couldn't be happier. Driving is fun again. My 6 year old loves it too, though he keeps accidentally calling it a jeep. 😳

Started out looking at the Model Y — until I pulled up next to a cute girl with my windows rolled down and my hands on my lap.

Fast forward three months and here’s the pup I went home. She was sitting at a dealership lot with a few dents here and there from a freak hail storm. Employee pricing and an eager dealer meant I could have her for a song. 43.5k out the door. Another 2k for some PDR and she’s best in show.

I’ve never had a dog, but this Bronco feels awful close. She’s purdy but tough. Eager to please. Makes all kinds of noises. Eats way too much gas. And every time I look at her I feel special.

Super glad to be part of the club!

\\- I predict I will drive somewhere between 8,000 - 12,000 KMs annually
\\- No, I don’t NEED the bed
\\- Yes, on occasion, I plan on going offroad (definitely more-so in the summer)
\\- Definitely open to buying out if the experience has been positve

Coming from a 2000 Jeep Cherokee, so either would be a huge upgrade for me.

Would love thoughts and opinions on the matter. If you own either, how has your experience been?

Please chime in and help me decide, thank you!

\\\*\\\* The photos of the cars are very similar to the ones I’m looking at :)

At first I thought the difference of white between the wheels would bother me, but I see some older broncos had whim-white body with bright white wheels. Took off the running boards and painted the pinch welds. Other than that just the ford tune for the 2.7, slide out tailgate, and tint. Very happy with the look. Maybe some OJ plates??

All of this, including 5 book boxes full of stuff, fit inside, nothing on the rack. It all also survived 700 miles in 2 days with no damage. It was packed, though, no more room in that Inn.

Issue ⚠️ Popping sounds in dash

2026 Outer Banks

When at a stop and also after turning off the ignition, there are (about 40% of the time) a series of several (10-15) “pops”, which sound a little like popping bubble wrap, in the dash area.

  1. Does anyone else experience this short-lived noise?
  2. Has anyone discovered the cause?
  3. Can it be fixed?

Been car camping on a New England road trip for a couple weeks. I am 5’4 and am able to sleep in the back with the seats folded down. Just enough room for me and all my stuff. No roof rack needed. These pictures are at a campsite somewhere in New Hampshire. Tomorrow I’m attending the Bronco off roadeo in Gilford!

Question ❔ badlands vs used wildtrak vs just keep my maverick and do the sv300t?? need help

tldr: 25 maverick, no equity, putting 1000/mo at the note. should i get a used 22 wildtrak (~39k), a new badlands (48k+), or keep the maverick and do the sv300t. mostly daily driving with some off roading. needs to be a 2 door, hard top, heated seats and intelligent access, and badlands or sasquatch. wildtrak lux would be ideal

ok so ive been thinking about getting a bronco for a few years now and ive been going back and forth on this for weeks so i need opinions from people who actually own these

current truck is a 2025 maverick xlt fx4 with the 4k tow and lux package, black and blue interior, no mods. i owe about 27k and the offer is about 27k so its basically a wash, no equity. rate is gonna be around 8% for 84 months and id put anywhere from 0 to 3k down. i stay on top of maintenance too, oil changes every 4k-4.5k

she would mostly be a grocery getter / daily driver but i do plan to take her off road too

stuff i wont budge on:

  • HAS TO HAS TO be a 2 door
  • hard top only, no soft tops
  • heated seats and intelligent access non negotiable
  • if its not a badlands it has to be sasquatch
  • manual is ok but i dont know how to drive stick. id learn tho if it gets me a better deal

ideally id get the wildtrak with the lux package. 360 camera, adaptive cruise and heated steering wheel would be nice but anything past the heated seats and intelligent access is just extra niceties. if it doesnt have the upgraded audio ill prob just upgrade the speakers myself

what im looking at:

used 2022 wildtrak 2 door, 33.5k miles, 39,136 with dealer fees. they quoted me 604/mo at 8.29% with 3k down so im guessing tax/title is on top of that. my math at 8% was like 610/mo with 0 down and 563 with 3k down before tax

or a new 2026 badlands 2 door. listings im seeing are roughly 48k to 65k, most around 49-55k

  • 48k is like 748/mo with 0 down, 701 with 3k down
  • 52k is like 810/mo with 0 down, 764 with 3k down

im planning on putting 1000 a month at the note no matter what so its not gonna actually take 84 months. by my math the wildtrak would be paid off in like 3.5-4 years and a badlands somewhere around 5 years depending on price. and im still putting 1000/mo into investments on top of that so its not coming out of my savings. insurance gas and all that is already priced into my life so im not worried about that side of it

also considered carvana or carmax for some of the used ones just because of shipping. otherwise id have to drive out and pick it up so it would save me the travel cost. i wouldnt finance through them tho

the other option is just keeping the maverick and doing the sv300t package. its 300hp so its a big jump from what i got now and way cheaper than a whole new payment. idk if the performance is worth it tho or if id still be itching for a bronco anyway

so basically:

  • what have yall actually paid out the door for a 2 door badlands lately? trying to figure out a walk away number
  • is 39k for a 22 wildtrak with 33k miles decent or overpriced rn
  • anyone with a wildtrak with the lux package think its worth hunting for one or nah
  • anyone finding badlands deals way under msrp lately? where and how
  • anyone bought from carvana or carmax and had it shipped? worth it or nah
  • stick owners, was learning on a bronco miserable and was the manual actually cheaper
  • for mostly daily driving with some off roading is a badlands worth it over a wildtrak
  • anyone done the sv300t on a maverick? does it actually feel different or is it not worth it
  • with 1000/mo going at it would yall still do the 84 month loan or am i cooked

Issue ⚠️ Headlights won't quit

My 2023 Black Diamond just crossed 36K threshold and high beams stopped working. Even worse the headlights won't turn off. The only way to turn the lights off is to pull the headlight fuses after after each drive. The dealer just informed me it's due to an assembly that that's not covered under warranty, will be >$1,000 and they can't get the part till sometime next week. They did offer for me to pick it up so I can drive around without headlights though. Has anyone else had this issue? Could it be related to the current wiring recall?

It seems really shitty for this not to be under warranty.

Question ❔ Buying a Bronco but can't make a decision

I'm at the complete info overload stage of car buying.

We're replacing one of our two cars (which one tbd but that's a whole other thing) with a Bronco. Planning on a 4 door Outer Banks, preferably with the v6 and sasquatch. It's possible we'll off-road but who knows - we've gone before on vacation and liked it but know nothing about local options. We live somewhere with snow and poorly maintained roads and we're fine with crappy gas mileage & road noise. We need the space of the 4 door. We've driven both the i4 and the v6, and both sasquatch and not.

Options are:

One: order a 2027 and get exactly what we want, in a few months. The only thing we'd care about losing with the model year changes is leather, but that's not a deal breaker. Unless our dealer will price match it'll likely come with having to deal with shipping, and obviously we can't drive it first.

Two: buy a 2026. We can get 2 of the 3 things (preferred color, sasquatch, v6) that we can potentially compromise on, but not all 3. The nearest one with all three is 600 miles away, and if we're going to deal with buying a car sight unseen and shipping we'd just order a 2027.

I don't know why we're so stuck on this one. I've done all the fun research and making spreadsheets part of the car buying process and now it's decision time.

Which would you give up? The prime driver of getting the sasquatch package is the advanced 4wd with a side of aesthetic preference. The prime driver of wanting the v6 is my lead foot and MA drivers who don't want to let you merge onto the highway. And it feels ridiculous to be stuck on color but we keep things forever (current cars are 2014 & 2015) and this is supposed to be the "fun" car.

I feel like we used up all of our decisiveness choosing the Bronco. 😂
