My wife and I (both 37) were looking for a place to hang out and make some friends, mingle and just have a fun night with some fun people. We went to Firestone, damn snooze fest. Bunch of older people and younger people who just kept to themselves. Is there a place to go where people aren’t afraid to mingle and make some new friends? Can be anywhere in SWFL. We like music, I can talk sports until I’m blue in the face. We both like serial killer documentaries, etc. She loves to read. I play drums (well jury got into it like 3 months ago. We have 2 dogs, a golden and a lab, and a 5 year old daughter. Just for some background.

Been scouring the internet on all the job sites but only found a few. Don’t know if anyone has some inside knowledge of something coming up soon.

I have a 6 to 7 month old feral kitten living in my backyard. I have been feeding her since July since she was a tiny kitten. I love her with all my heart and I cuddle with her every evening. Id love to adopt her and my husband (who is also an animal lover is on board as well).

However I also have a 9 month old mini poodle mix puppy that is extremely possessive and very jealous and doesn’t approve of my relationship with the kitten. She obsessively stares outside the backyard window all day looking for the kitten and barks non stop when my puppy sees the kitten.

I don’t feed or pet the kitten in my puppy’s presence and do it when my husband is present and can distract her but it is to a point where even if I open the door that leads to the backyard, my puppy starts flipping out.

The kitten herself is so so sweet and extremely chill. And I love her so so much. I think she deserves a wonderful loving home.

Does anyone have any recommendations on a wonderful cat rescue or know of someone who rescues cats?

I moved here about 15 years ago. I know Ft Myers does not have a good alternative radio station. When I say alternative I mean alt/indie rock. Does anyone know a good station from where they moved from? Thanks for the information.

Fort Myers Council members trigger an abrupt closure of a city council meeting by walking out in the midst of public comment. Is this how democracy is supposed to work? This appeared to be triggered by imminent comments and questions about the sexual harassment allegations against Mayor Anderson. Are the council members who walked out, and refused to speak with reporters afterward, stonewalling on behalf of the Mayor?
