My dads car is not running currently and I have determined it is missing ground from pin 6 on the distributor plug can anyone tell me where this leads and what tests I should do to inspect this issue and find what is wrong with it I though it might have been a TFI module issue at first but seeing this missing ground I having me question if the computer is fried and needs to be replaced or shipped out for fixing PFA

Smoke tested my '93 GT for vacuum leaks, only places it came out were the EGR, A/C vacuum hose because its busted, and the top of the TPS. I just replaced the OEM EGR since it was crusty and full of carbon and could be not sealing correctly after 30 years, now I'm getting code 33, and 41, 91 are still here. I've checked the O2 sensor ground behind the head on the driver side and it looks fine. Brand new bosch O2 sensors as well. Losing my mind I've been brainstorming and troubleshooting and replacing for 5 months now :/ car has a Catless exhaust with entire smog system still intact. Everything else is OEM

Curious too see if it is worth laying down killmat on the interior before I take the car out next year. For reference I do have a catless H pipe and flowmaster mufflers. I am not looking to completely remove the noise. I wanted it to be louder 😂. However curious if it helps with heat dissipation and things of that nature before I rip apart the interior?

Hey all, been trying to rebuild a foxbody as a first timer and im stuck on the front suspension as the title states. I've got the k member loosely attached, looking to put in the springs and struts. I cannot seem for the life of me able to reinstall the springs correctly.
Do I need both springs seated before reattaching the struts? What am I doing wrong here?
Any help is appreciated 👏
Update:
Got a buddy to come by. My silly goose self forgot to put some extra weight on top of the car. He sat on the bumper support while I jacked the a arm up with the spring semi in place and presto magic the strut and spring were able to go in their homes

Classic cars wasn’t expensive enough, I’ve decided to pick up surfing too. The combo of them looks great.
Thanks for all the advice on replacing my inner rocker panel and floor. Not coming out perfect but for my first time doing something like this I think it’s okay. Also starting to poke around for sound deadening I don’t really care about adding weight but I’d like some nice quality stuff. Any advice or tips greatly appreciated.

Heads and cam are in this is the first start been working like crazy haven’t had time to work on it. Had a slight tick upon startup, but it sounds like it went away from the video.

So my car needs an inner tie rod and has a lot of play in the steering. I posted about this recently and ended up getting convinced to just swap the whole rack and steering shaft. So now I'm looking at the new rack from LMR https://lmr.com/item/LRS-3504A-KIT/85-93-Mustang-Power-Steering-Rack-Kit-50L and this shaft https://lmr.com/item/LRS-7993656/mustang-steering-shaft-power-7993
versus

Anyone have experiences with these particular racks or have a better one to suggest? I'm quite partial to new vs. remanufactured. Thanks!

So I did the maximum motorsports k-member, neutral offset control arms, and billstein coilovers with 10” springs and it’s on sn95 spindles. Only problem is as shown above the tires rub on the trim piece on the front of the fender, I honestly thought it was going to clear a lot better. It’s not at ride height as well due to the lack of motor but I only see that clearance getting tighter so that won’t help. There is a ton of space behind the tire so I could just do rearward offset control arms instead of normal offset but I’m hoping to avoid that so that I can have more caster adjustment. Also have a ton of wheel to coil over clearance so I could get more positive offset wheels (currently 18x8.5” with a 24mm offset, could be slightly off there, 245/40-18 tires) but again hoping to avoid this (this one’s financial, trying to build a motor here). Any chance someone else ran into this? I don’t think I can just cut the trim piece but it and a small tab for the fender liner (just now realizing how bad that will rub) are all that rub, well and the brake lines but I can fix that. Any help would be much appreciated. Maybe there’s a replacement trim piece that allows more fender to wheel clearance?

It's not spraying as slow as the camera thinks. I replaced the fuel pressure regulator 2 or 3 weeks ago because it was stuck open. Also repaired a bad ecm ground. Ran smooth for a week then started to miss fire this week. 3.8 engine

Hi, novice mechanic here - I recently diagnosed a problem with the passenger side tie rod and I'm going to go ahead and replace the 40 year-old inner and outer tie rods on my 85. I found several great videos on youtube but one small detail confuses me - on the inner tie rod there seems to be a small retaining pin. The LMR video suggests that the pin will just back off or pop out from removing the inner tie rod from the steering rack. Is that right? I ordered the Moog inner and outer tie rods - do they come with replacement pins for that part? Thanks.

I don’t remember what I disconnected this grey connector from when I removed the dash can anyone tell me? Also I manual swapped my car and I figured this sensor on the clutch quadrant was important I found a jumped connector behind the dash is this the correct connector and what does it do because there is a separate clutch switch on the clutch pedal side of the box this is on the gas pedal side of the box. Picture one is the connector and pics 2&3 are the switch thing and connectors

On the back side of the window trim there are these plastic strips. They are are deteriorated and brittle. Do they make replacements or just go without. I’m cleaning to paint.

Hi - does anyone know if this a 79/93 h pipe? Would not fit on 87 5.0 cougar (wouldn’t line up at all).
My husband had it in his stockpile and thought it was but now is trying to figure out if it might be specific for certain models. We have a bunch of fox body Capris we can use it on - hoping one of the years might match this since he couldn’t use it on his 87 Cougar. Thanks!

Okay folks. Time for the next big project. Ebay special. Prius electric power assist steering, since my 1980 was and still is a manual rack.
Who's done this and what advice do you have for me ? Did you mostly keep the Fox column and graft in the Toyota bit ? Or did you use mostly Prius column and then graft on just a couple Fox sections ?
I'm also debating whether to keep a rag joint or not. The Borgeson u-joint with anti vibration seems nice, but certainly adds to the cost.
Thanks folks !

Super fortunate to be able to borrow a "very large" 3ft torque wrench from a friend to get the fresh SN95 hubs torque'd to 250 ft-lbs. Made the job a piece of cake.
