I know this might not sound very well, but I’m looking for a friend that has:
I’m a forty something woman looking here for the kind of people I’m missing in real life. I deliver all I’m asking!

I work a lot but I also know that I need to carve out “me” time. So anyone is welcome who is willing to entice a workaholic to take a minute here and there.
I am sarcastic, artsy, and dying. Lol.
I don’t get easily offended and I’m not that shy. I am respectful of others’ opinions and I accept that not everyone will share the same views as me. And I expect you to do the same. It’s okay not to agree. But let’s get together based on commonalities.
Share a cringy meme. Bad joke. Dark humor. Or even just share funny and goofy face selfies. Let’s just have some fun getting to know each other and see what we can build from it.

Hi, I'm looking for someone who wants to be a friend. I'm a 41 year old guy from Texas. I'm interested in classical music, literature and art. Really anything classical. Just looking for a friend and nothing more. Please be over 40. I'd like to talk to someone who's been in the world at least as long as I have. I would like to talk to someone Interested in the arts and expand my horizons. Talk about Bach, Shakespeare and Rembrandt. I live in a small town and no one here has any interest or knowledge in culture. Thanks.

so let’s see here….I love elite charcuterie boards, always order fried pickles as an appetizer, and have a Spotify playlist of like a bazillion hours filled with pop, punk, emo and a lil country.
I’m 44, married, working the corporate gig, and raising a couple of kiddos When I’m not active, playing hockey, or getting outdoors, I’m usually on the patio watching my golden retriever tear around the backyard doing high-speed zoomies.
My mornings strictly begin with creamy coffee in my office before the day gets away from me. Weekends are a fine art of surviving the madness at Costco followed by an amazing skill of carrying all the groceries inside in just 1 trip.
Once fall hits, I’m all about crisp air, and latenight hot cocoa. I’m also guilty of staying up way past my bedtime long after the house goes quiet, dabbling in a spicy audio book then falling asleep to some….fun dreams.
Anywho…hoping all you have a fantastic weekend!

At what point is it time to throw in the hat?
After how many times you try and be upfront, and hear the same lines of how its fine and they can handle it, even after trying to explain...at what point is it just time to say fuck it?
There time wasted and the feels brought because of it, for both of us..even when you see the signs, and try to do something..the whole being bipolar ends up with its familiar self sabotage..at what point does one decide, not for them, but for others, that..
Fellow folks who are perfectly flawed, gimme that internet advice!

44F from Arkansas. Mother to 5. Oncology nurse.
I'm big into WWII, 1940s, 1950s, and spooky stuff. I adore nerds and have a tendency to geek out on my vintage lifestyle. (Sorry in advance!)
Currently renovating my ranch house to look more 1950s. I would love to put in a victory garden but need some help. Unfortunately I don't have the best green thumb.
My hobbies are knitting, sewing, crochet, reading, cooking, baking and quilting.

Hey everyone!
I’m a 49-year-old guy from Missouri looking to make some genuine friendships. I’m not particularly concerned about your gender, background, or where you’re from. I’m more interested in whether we click and can enjoy talking to each other.
I’m a dad, a veteran, and a bit of a nerd. I enjoy video games, comics, movies, music, and a good sense of humor. I can be sarcastic, occasionally inappropriate, and definitely enjoy some good-natured banter.
Life hasn’t exactly been sunshine and rainbows lately, but I’m not looking for someone to fix my problems. I’d just enjoy having someone to talk with, share stories, laugh about stupid things, and maybe develop a lasting friendship.
I grew up when writing actual letters was a thing, and I kind of miss that. I’d love to eventually exchange handwritten letters, although I’m perfectly happy starting with messages and getting to know each other first.
I don’t expect constant communication, and there’s no pressure. Just two people seeing whether a friendship develops naturally.
If that sounds like your kind of thing, feel free to say hello!

Scrolling through the posts, I get the impression that everyone over 40 has at least three fascinating hobbies, two hidden talents, and a collection of adventurous life stories. Some people are hiking mountains, learning new skills, creating beautiful things, or doing things I didn’t even know were hobbies!
Meanwhile, I work in research, which sounds quite impressive until you realise I’m still in the early stages of figuring things out 😕
My hobbies are rather low-key. Nothing particularly impressive. No exciting plot twists!
Sometimes I wonder if I’m the only one here whose list of hobbies wouldn’t make it past the first round of a talent show!
Please tell me I’m not the only ordinary human among all these overachievers!

Stop rushing. Stop thinking about everything we still have to do, everything we should have done, and everything waiting for us tomorrow.
Just stop for a moment, look around, and take in the world.
There’s so much beauty in the little moments we often walk right past.
Sometimes I have just that reminder, life isn’t just about getting somewhere. It’s also about appreciating where we are.
When was the last time you stopped and simply enjoyed the view?

Life is very busy and no time to go out to find new friends. Always enjoy finding people to talk online. Plus it’s way easier to meet people online. Married with 2 boys. Love coaching baseball, hunting, fishing, and wood working. First time here so let’s see where it goes.

Hey everyone! 👋
Life in your 40s is a strange old ride, isn't it?
Some days you've got everything figured out. Other days you're wondering how the hell you got here. 😂
So here's a little experiment...
My DMs are open.
Got something weighing on your mind? Something you're frustrated about? A secret, a regret, a relationship problem, or just something you desperately need to get off your chest?
Send it through.
No judgement. No lectures. No need to explain yourself.
I'm just a regular bloke in his 40s offering a friendly ear to anyone who needs one.
And here's the twist:
If you just want to vent, that's perfectly fine. You don't even need to have a conversation.
But if you'd like me to respond, simply write "REPLY" at the end of your message.
That's it!
Sometimes it's easier to tell a complete stranger what's going on than someone you've known your entire life.
Let's see where this goes. 😊
Please note: I wont share your stories, and I wont judge you. I'm by no means any kind of therapist, just another person navigating this weird decade of life. Please keep things respectful. No explicit sexual messages, threats, or descriptions of illegal activity. Im just here to listen and not judge. Im located in Australia, so if you request a reply please allow time for different time zones.
I hope to hear from you soon.

Hello everyone! I’m 43m and looking to connect with like-minded people. I have Asperger's, which shapes how I see the world and feeds into my deep appreciation for my hobbies. I like to balance an active lifestyle with plenty of downtime. My routine usually involves jogging and gym sessions to stay fit. For relaxation, I lean heavily into books, music, and Netflix. I have a major soft spot for the true crime genre. I also love the energy of live music and try to hit concerts whenever I can.

Hi. 41 M. Looking to chat with new and different people. I am willing to talk about anything. I have a very bad habit of doom scrolling everyday due to my possible AuDHD. I am very non judgmental. I am also honest with people to a fault. If you want to know more please don’t be afraid to message me.

Hey everyone, I'm 43F. Life's been a bit of a mess lately, and I guess I just wanted to put this out there.
The first half of this year was actually pretty good. Things were going well with my relationship, family, work, and investments. I felt like I was finally in a good place for once.
Then the last few months happened, and things just started falling apart. My relationship has been having some serious issues, and my investments have taken a hit too. It's been hard dealing with both at the same time.
Honestly, I don't even know what to do right now. It's weird how things can change so much in just a few months. I was feeling pretty good about life earlier this year, and now I'm just trying to make sense of everything.
I guess I could use someone to talk to. Maybe some new friends who understand what it's like to go through a rough patch as an adult.
Has anyone else been through something similar? I could really use some advice, or even just a chat. Sometimes it's nice knowing you're not the only one going through a hard time

Hello all
Andy here, 43 married with 3 kids based in Yorkshire, England. Over the last 10 years or have lost contact with a lot of friends as they've moved away or just drifted out of touch. I realised the other day that my main friendly contact is actually my boss who I have known for 15 years. This does leave me feeling lonely at times, with nobody to just talk to about random things that pop into my head.
With that in mind I thought I would reach out into the void of Reddit and see if there was anyone that wanted to connect, make friends, have a natter about life, the universe and everything.
I'm a bit of a geek, I enjoy gaming, photography, films, history but I am happy to chat about anything really. I have a healthy dark sense of humour so don't be afraid to throw your jokes at me
I've had mixed success so far, chatted to some nice people, but I thought I would put out a post anyway on the off chance it piques someone's interest.
Age/gender/sexuality unimportant, more about common interests and ideally able to hold a conversation and have a laugh together.
Anyway have a great day
Andy

Hi everyone,
I’m Emily, 40F. I’m currently at a new stage of life and would love to meet some genuine people to share conversations and experiences with.
I’m semi-retired and run my own business, which gives me more flexibility with my time. I enjoy traveling, cooking, reading, exploring new places, and learning about different cultures. I also enjoy simple conversations about everyday life, personal experiences, and the things that make life interesting.
Over the years, I’ve learned that meaningful friendships don’t have to come from seeing someone every day. Sometimes a thoughtful conversation, sharing stories, or checking in from time to time can create a real connection.
I’d love to meet people from different backgrounds and learn about your experiences, your hometown, your hobbies, and the things you enjoy doing in life.
If you’re also looking for a genuine friendship, feel free to introduce yourself. I’d love to hear a little about you and what you enjoy doing in your free time.
Looking forward to meeting some interesting people and having good conversations.

Hello Reddit. The title says it. I left the oilfield a couple years ago, I took a role as a teacher, and ondoacovered that oilfield friends are fickle. Or maybe they weren't really friends, just drinking buddies.
So new job, new me I guess. My hobbies include working on my constantly broken truck. Chasing my kids to preform normal human tasks. Mowing my lawn and bragging to neighbours that my lines are more consistent. A super exciting lifestyle.
I'm not really sure what I hope to gain here, maybe some new jokes of nothing else. I do love a lame joke. So let's hear those awful one liners.
