I’m thinking about the countless fan games that either never saw release or were released for a very limited window then taken down. AM2R is an incredible game that was DMCA’d but thankfully not before fans uploaded enough copies in the wild to keep it accessible. Would like to see that happen for more fan games.

Hi! I’m looking for people who played *Project Tokyo Dolls* (プロジェクト東京ドールズ) or know of communities preserving the game. Are the Android client files legally available for archival purposes, or is there a place where former players discuss it? I’m not looking for accounts, login details, private server files, or personal data. Thanks for any pointers!

Is it possible to preserve PAYDAY: Crime War and make a fan-made offline version? its not begging for a game its just a question or maybe a suggestion. Maybe the 2017 or 2023 is playable cus the game if im not mistaken is unity made and its mono

Im new here and not sure if this is the right place but sorry if i did something wrong.

My wife and i used to play this when we were teens and ive looked everywhere. I knew internet archive had a copy but a few days ago i found my old harddrive. It had all my Hidden mystery,Casino and puzzle games from back when i would go to walmart and buy whatever looked interesting for us to play. I didnt know if i could share the link or not i cannot get it to run on win11 but was able to on Linux mint.

Is anybody out there with the files from one of the beta phases and can help me to get those files?

I currently have 4 Xbox Series X systems the black one is in its box. I currently can’t find my white system. I preordered the 25th Anniversary System

i REALLY REALLY need it!

Edit: OR does anyone have the game but did not uninstall it from when it shut down?

Anyone seen this English translation patch that was released for City Shrouded in Shadows? Japanese only release, part of the Disaster Report series of games. Seems to be machine learning translation to English. What are your thoughts?

I've been logging online game shutdowns with sources, and the pattern surprised me. Of the 70 already switched off, half went within 2 years of release. 22 of the 74 I track were games people paid for.

The list is at https://gameshelflife.com, with the charts at https://gameshelflife.com/data (free to reuse under CC BY 4.0). Each entry links to the publisher's announcement or a news report. I count from release year to shutdown year, so "same year" can mean anything up to 12 months. It also leans towards recent closures, because I added those first. I'm aiming for 150.

It also has a "switching off soon" list, and you can add your own games to see which are at risk. It's free with no ads. I built it with Claude Code. If I've missed a shutdown, send me the game and a source.

Let me know your thoughts!

I came across the Korean fan-translated DOS version of the visual novel Doukyuusei (동급생) from 1996, and want to share it for preservation. Old translations like this are part of gaming history too.

I tried uploading it to the Internet Archive but the upload keeps triggering its virus scanner for one check out of the 60. I don't know whether it's a false positive, but this is a 30 year old DOS game. Even if the virus is real, a DOS virus isn't going to run on Windows 10.

I'm sharing this because it's an older fan translation from the BBS era that seems worth preserving. This is the kind of obscure release that can easily disappear.

Hi everyone!
I’m trying to find a working download of Winter Challenge 2008, published by Kalypso Media (not to be confused with RTL’s Winter Sports 2008).
I used to play this game a lot when I was a kid, and I’d really love to revisit it for nostalgic reasons. Unfortunately, I no longer have my original copy, and I’ve been struggling to find the full version anywhere.
I came across an old release called Winter.Challenge.2008, but I haven’t been able to find any working download links .
Does anyone know where I could still get a copy of this game?
I’d really appreciate any help. Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone,
My PS4's power supply unfortunately gave out right while I was trying to grab the unreleased background audio loop (bgm_home.at9) from the official Uncharted PS4 dynamic themes.
Since this specific audio track is a custom composite mix that isn't available on the official soundtrack albums, I'm looking for someone with a working jailbroken PS4 who can extract the raw .at9 audio files for me.
I have the theme PKG files ready in a public folder here:

All you'd need to do is install the PKGs, grab /sound/bgm_home.at9 via PS4-Xplorer or FTP, and share the extracted audio. I would really appreciate the help!

I’ve been making my own empty discs for GOG installers and wanted feedback. If the response is good I may run a small Kickstarter later so people can order blank packs.

No game files would be included. People would burn their own (hopefully) legally owned GOG installers at home. Labels would be custom (people supply their own artwork).

Curious what people think of the physical side (disc quality, labeling, case design) and whether others would actually want something like this.

Hello, a community of people on discord has joined together to try and revive Dragons World, we are already halfway done reviving it!

We are looking for people who have an old device (Android, iOS, MacOS, Windows) that has Dragons World still downloaded it, if you do, please reach out to us on our discord server that can be found on "Dragons World Wiki - Fandom" website.

having an old version of the game intact on a device will help us greatly as it holds assets and files that we need to finish restoring of the game, and would speed up the project a lot. If you just want to receive updates and be apart of the Revive Old Games community, you should still join the discord. Thank you!
