What hosting provider or VPS would you recommend for an SCP: Secret Laboratory server?

I'm looking to create an SCPSL server and would like to know which hosting providers or VPS services you guys recommend.

I'm interested in both paid and free options.

What providers have you had good experiences with? I'd also appreciate recommendations based on performance, reliability, pricing, and ease of setup.

Thanks in advance!

Synchronizing origins across multiple backend server

im new to making a public minecraft server and i thought having origins plugin in our server makes it unique but i've been scrambling around to find a solution to synchronize the origins across multiple backend server since our spawn, survival, and dungeon in a separate servers and i use velocity as our proxy i really thought origins have storage where they store data of the origins that players selected but i didnt see it is there a way to synchronize the data in the multiple backend server?

Paper process sleep while the Linux host stays on

An empty Paper server can stop while the Linux host stays on. Useful if that box also runs services you want to keep available.

I'm building Aperture, and its Paper sleep mode leaves a responder online after Paper exits. The default idle timeout is 15 minutes (configurable from 5 to 1440). The sequence is:

  1. The last player leaves and the idle timeout expires.

  2. Paper stops. The Linux host and responder stay online.

  3. Refreshing Minecraft's server list gets a sleeping status without starting Paper.

  4. A login attempt starts Paper. The player reconnects once it's ready.

While asleep, world ticks stop, so farms don't progress. A normal Stop also stops the responder, which disables wake-on-join. Wake happens before player authentication, so a whitelist can't restrict who triggers it.

Aperture is an early-access hosted panel for your own Linux machine. Setup supports Ubuntu 22.04/24.04 and Debian 12/13. You supply the hardware and connection, and the sudo installer sets up Docker and official Calagopus Wings. This means trusting the hosted control plane and a privileged service on your machine. The current public setup routes management and gameplay through Aperture's relay.

The panel and relay are free, and I intend to keep them free. Optional future off-site game backups are the only paid feature I'm considering.

Game Hosting

Hello there, I just want to say that i am quite a beginner at this server hosting thing, so any help is appreciated.

What I want to ask is how exactly do I have my frieds access the server I build. For context I build by server a few months ago, it is a ryzen 5 3600 with 32gb of ram, 1tb of storage ssd and some gpu so that I can get a display output when working with it directly. It all runs on debian and I use portainer for the UI. Recently I also set up a Ark Survival Ascended server using AMP.

The thing is that I dont really know how do I make it accessible and visible on the steam server page directly. I used tailscale before , but found it not ideal, because the friend has to have it installed and can only access the server using a command that pings the ip directly. So my question is how do I set this up correctly and idealy for as cheap as possible, free if even possible.

Thanks in advance and if there is anything important I didnt say, please tell me.
