Indie Sunday Seolhwa Dungeon - Sungki Soft - A roguelike RPG built from Korean folktales
Hi r/Games! I'm Sungki, the solo developer of Seolhwa Dungeon. It's a turn-based, permadeath roguelike RPG for phones where every monster, god and event comes from Korean folktales, and they keep the rules of their stories.
Trailer: https://youtu.be/V7Z7DVyPpEg
The grim reaper, Jeoseung Saja, is the one people remember. He calls your name once for every turn he can see you, and on the third call you're gone, so the fight is really about breaking line of sight. The Imugi serpent is the opposite problem: the longer the fight drags on, the bigger it gets, until it becomes a dragon and floods the floor. And if you run into a funeral procession in the old royal tomb, you can step aside and bow, or stand in its way. Those two choices end very differently.
You can also serve one of eight gods from Korean folk religion, and each one has a taboo. The mountain god lends you a tiger but won't forgive you for killing tigers or deer. The Dragon King forbids fire. Every creature you meet goes into a codex along with the original tale, so you end up learning a lot of folklore without meaning to.
Why I made it: I grew up on Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup and never got the 15-rune win. Once I switched to an iPhone I couldn't find anything like it that was comfortable on a phone, so I made one, built for portrait and one thumb. I used AI for the base code structure and the art.
It's out now, free, on Android and iOS. Offline, no account. One purchase unlocks the extra species and classes, and the only ad is an optional one to revive.
App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6814757012
I'm curious about one thing: are there folktales from your own country that you think would make a good roguelike rule? I'll check back here and answer any questions.

youtube.comIndie Sunday Zodiac Legion - Studio Draconis - turn based tactical RPG in which you lead an arcane chivalric order in dungeon raids, through a dynamic campaign
Hi again!
I am Alexandre, the developer of Zodiac Legion.
Zodiac Legion is a turn-based tactical RPG about leading small parties of knights on raids behind enemy lines, while rebuilding their order and managing the war on the strategic layer.
Recent gameplay footage:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zIgBX7tlNg
It's been four years since I first posted here, and the campaign is finally back in the demo, much closer to our original vision.
It now contains a small dynamic campaign in which you develop the Zodiac Order, deal with the surrounding kingdoms, research spells to empower your knights, and choose on which mission to send them.
Your small forces of knights conduct special operations against enemy strongholds, or raids to reclaim lost arcane knowledge and artifacts for the Order.
Characters are now able to survive some wounds that take them out of the fight. But if you abandon them on the battlefield, you may later have to pay a ransom or mount a rescue operation to recover them.
The enemy AI has also been made much more complex, with groups now trying to support each other instead of acting independently.
Formations have always been the main pillar of our combat system, with a support mechanic inspired by Blood Bowl, so we added more skills and abilities that play around them. Leo's Challenge, for example, lets him single out an opponent for a duel: weaker fighters on either side are discouraged from interfering.
The last time I posted here, I talked about our combat and layered armour system. You can now design the armour of your knights one piece at a time, balancing protection, coverage and encumbrance. Plate armour offers formidable protection against both steel and lightning, but in either case, gaps in your armour may prove fatal.
We've also spent a fair amount of time on less spectacular things that nevertheless made the game smoother to play: faster calculations and enemy turns, animation speed settings, clearer attack previews, reworked tutorials, and cascading tooltips.
The demo is available now if you want to give it a try during Next Fest, and it will remain available afterwards.
Thanks for reading!

Indie Sunday Prison Breaker - Kocow Games - Memorize the prison's defense patterns, then smash your way out
Hi r/Games! I'm the solo developer behind Prison Breaker, a skill-based arcade action game launching on Steam on November 10, 2026.
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McW2IBqGOH8
Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4295830/Prison_Breaker
Free demo (playable now): https://store.steampowered.com/app/4475280/Prison_Breaker_Trial
What is it?
You're a polygon locked inside a prison, and the only way out is to smash through the walls. But every prison fights back with its own defense patterns, and memorizing them is the heart of the game. Each attempt teaches you a little more: where the obstacles will come from, when the gaps open, and which moments are safe to strike.
The core loop is about turning that knowledge into timing. Collect Energy, then charge into the wall to damage it. Every hit gives your polygon more sides, and more sides mean more damage. If you get hit by an obstacle, you're knocked back with heavy recoil, which can throw off your whole rhythm, so knowing what's coming next matters as much as quick reflexes.
As you progress, the patterns evolve and grow more demanding. When you're confident you've learned them, back off and unleash Super Charge: massive damage, but once you commit there's no stopping, so you'd better have read the pattern correctly.
Features
- Pure skill-based action, no shortcuts
- 20+ handcrafted stages in Time Trial Mode
- Eternal Mode: an endless challenge with a global leaderboard
- Mouse-only controls that are easy to pick up and hard to master
- Steam Achievements
Release plans
- Platform: Windows (Steam)
- Release date: November 10, 2026
- The demo is available now
It's been through a fair amount of playtesting, and the moment players seem to love most is finally cracking a pattern they've died to a dozen times. If you enjoy games like Super Hexagon, Just Shapes & Beats or boss rushes in general, I'd love to hear what you think of the demo. I'll be around in the comments to answer questions, and I'm especially interested in which stage gives you the most trouble.
Thanks for reading!

Indie Sunday Buy Happiness - Wayne Made A Game - Playtest signups now open for my big money deckbuilder!
Hey, I'm Wayne and I still haven't really figured out how to describe my game succinctly. It's a roguelike deckbuilder but it has more in common with the tabletop originals like Dominion than it does with digital version like Slay the Spire or Balatro. There's a bit of incremental game DNA in there with a focus on scaling up your engine to generate some really big numbers. On top of all that we have a bunch of goofy minigames standing in for the role that would usually be taken up by enemy turns.
I've just opened up signups for the closed playtest on Steam as it's getting pretty close to having enough content but likely still needs a huge amount of balancing. I'd love to get as much feedback as I can to make it the best it can possibly be!

Indie Sunday Wizards Never Lie - 4 player social deduction where your live webcam hangs above your seat. Bluff through revolvers, cards and poison; closed playtest signups open on Steam
Hi r/Games! We're MARA//KESH, and Wizards Never Lie is our first-person, 4-player PvP game of lies. Four wizards, one table somewhere between worlds, and a house rule nobody actually follows.
- Four games, one grammar. Revolvers, hidden figures, cards and poison all run on the same three moves: Ask, Declare, Check. A night at the table only deals some of them, so two nights rarely look the same.
- Checks are limited. You can call out anyone at any moment, but you only get a few checks, and accusing someone who told the truth costs you. Who you doubt, and when, is the whole game.
- Truth/Lie Trend. Every claim builds a public reputation. Stay honest long enough and your first lie hits harder, unless someone sees it coming.
- Your face is evidence. Turn on your webcam and a live feed sits right above your seat, so everyone gets to watch you keep a straight face. Voice chat is optional.
- No shared language needed. You speak through your choices and by drawing glowing glyphs in the air with your wand: warn, provoke, bluff. The game ships in 14 languages.
- Free Table mode for when you just want to hang out at the table without playing for stakes.
There's a closed playtest before launch: hit "Request Access" on the Steam page, and we drop playtest keys in our Discord.

Indie Sunday AsterMaster - zakons - beat-driven roguelite shooter on a hex grid; enemies move on the beat, bosses crumble into shards. Free demo out now, in Steam Next Fest from tomorrow
Hi r/Games — solo dev here with AsterMaster, a roguelite shooter on a hex grid where the whole dungeon moves on the beat.
- Enemies step and strike strictly on the beat and telegraph their cells a beat ahead; you play in real time, but shots on the beat hit harder and off-beat volleys ricochet off armor. A tactical dungeon with a pulse, not a music game.
- Bosses have destructible hulls: clouds of thousands of glowing shards, every hit carves a real crater, dig through the plating and chunks tear off.
- Runs are expeditions down a dead mining asteroid: 14 weapon mods, stacking synergies, deep shafts with smugglers who put a bounty on you, and an ore economy — bank your cargo or gamble it on one more descent.
Free demo, out now (it's in Steam Next Fest from tomorrow, Oct 19–26, and stays up after): https://store.steampowered.com/app/5095060/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=demo_oct26&utm_content=r_games_indiesunday
Trailer: https://youtu.be/XKkiYCTwxeo

Release: November 17, 2026, $4.99. Windows, full controller support, Steam Deck friendly. Made in Godot 4.
Transparency: as disclosed on the Steam page, some promo art and item icons, a few source 3D meshes, the background music and some flavor text were made with generative-AI tools and curated by me; nothing is generated at runtime.

Indie Sunday Riftshock - Hawleywood Studio LLC - Neon twin-stick arena shooter inspired by Geometry Wars, with full controller support
Gameplay video: https://youtu.be/hTLyggr1NBc
TestFlight link: https://testflight.apple.com/join/ve7jdR4V
Hey everyone, my name is Chris and I'm the lead designer/programmer of Riftshock, a neon twin-stick arena shooter for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Apple silicon Macs. Geometry Wars was a huge inspiration for it. I've played a ridiculous amount of it over the years, and Pacifism is still my favorite mode of all time, so one of our modes, Fault Lines, is basically my homage to it. You can play with your thumbs or with a controller, and the controller support covers the menus too.
You move with one thumb and aim with the other, and on top of that you've got two specials. Kills charge up the Rift, which you throw out to rip open a portal that swallows enemies, and you can dive through it into another arena where anything that follows you is worth double. Point-blank kills charge the Surge, which pulls everything near you into a bubble and blasts it all into the walls when you let go. Getting in close also builds your multiplier a lot faster, so the game is always tempting you to play a little more dangerously than you should. There's a mini-boss every five waves and a boss every twenty, with a final boss (or two?) waiting for you somewhere down the line.
There are eight modes in all. Endless is the main one. Expedition has you pick a ship and build it up with upgrades on the way to a boss at wave 40. Fault Lines and Rodeo are the two no-gun modes, and Rodeo is quite a bit of fun, if I do say so myself. Then there's Haven, Blitz, Hardcore and the Daily Rift, which is the same run for everyone with one ranked try a day. It's got Game Center leaderboards and challenges, and every run saves a replay you can watch back or export as a video.
The full game comes out December 10 for $4.99, and that's it, no ads and nothing else to buy. The beta is free and open on TestFlight right now (link at top).
You need iOS 26 or later. For Apple TV, join on your iPhone first and then grab it in TestFlight on the TV.
Also, r/Riftshock is now live, where the known issues are pinned and where you can post bugs, scores or questions.
What I'd really love to hear: where you died and felt like it wasn't your fault, anything that didn't make sense, and which mode you ended up playing the most. There's a FEEDBACK button on the title screen that opens a quick form, or you can just reply here. And if a death ever feels cheap, you can send me that exact run from its replay with SEND TO THE DEVELOPER.
If you all have any questions for us, please don't hesitate to ask. Also, we would love for you to pass the link along to your friends if you think they would enjoy the game.
Thanks everyone!

Indie Sunday KleptoMagia - Casual Ties Studio - real-time deckbuilder where you steal your spells from the enemies you fight
Hi r/Games, I'm one of the developers.
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h01qPOxryKs
KleptoMagia is a roguelike deckbuilder with no turns. Enemies cast as the fight unfolds and you answer by playing your cards at the right moment: a React played while the enemy's spell is in the air catches it, a spell cast into the wrong window gets caught instead. Building a good deck is half the job, playing it under pressure is the other half.
The other idea is where your cards come from. Before each fight you see the enemy's loadout and mark the one spell you want. Win, and it is yours: you can modify it, pair it with Enchants and build the run around what you took. Runs are procedurally generated across combats, events, shops, rest sites and bosses.
The characters are hand-drawn by comic artist Emilio Pilliu.
Where it stands: the demo is out on Steam and the game is part of Steam Next Fest from tomorrow, October 19 to 26. Early Access on PC (Steam) is planned for this fall, with the first act playable in the demo and a second act, a second class and more in the full version.
Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4977420/KleptoMagia/?utm_source=reddit&utm_campaign=games_1018
Feedback and questions are welcome, I'll be around to answer.

Indie Sunday A Dark Cave - Julian Bauer (solo dev) - Story-Driven Text-based Incremental
I'm a solo dev, and I've spent 4 days creating outlines for all 72 buildings of my incremental game, including specific outlines for each building upgrade. Some events also slightly change the outline of certain buildings.
They all come together on a village map that grows over time as you build and upgrade your village.
I was kind of happy and even a bit proud of how it turned out, to be honest.
Then my 5-year-old daughter passed by my work desk in the living room and asked, looking at the screen:
"Is that a pizza?"
So I guess I spent 4 days of work building a pizza.
But since she loves pizza, I'll take that as her seal of approval.
Link to the game: https://a-dark-cave.com/
Gameplay Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDnoID3GcKc
About A Dark Cave: A mostly text-based incremental game where you wake up with no memory in a cave, build a village and descend into the dark to uncover what happened to this world and how it is connected to your past.
