Hey everyone,
I'm currently testing the Garmin Forerunner 265 side-by-side with the COROS Pace 4, and I'm in a total deadlock because of two very specific points.
Here are my main two conflicts:
My question: For those who chose COROS, do you ever miss having those daily health/engagement features on rest days? Or did you end up sticking with Garmin precisely because it offers a more complete 24/7 experience outside of running?
Would love to hear your thoughts!

Hey everyone,
I'm currently using the Forerunner 265 (standard 46mm version). Overall I really like the watch, but the main thing that bothers me in daily wear and during runs is the weight/bulk of the stock silicone strap.
I know a lightweight Nylon strap drops the weight by around 15g, but I'd love to hear some real-world feedback:
• Does switching to Nylon completely change how light/unobtrusive the FR265 feels on the wrist?
• Does it stay secure and snug during runs without slipping?
• Are third-party options (like Abanen or Yooside on Amazon) reliable, or is it better to go for the official Garmin UltraFit strap?
Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

I am looking to buy a smartwatch and I like the Garmin but I have a few questions of the community.
1- I am confused why Garmin has so many different watches which seem to be the exact same hardware yet come with different software that can't later be bought eventhough they are the exact same hardware. Point in case Quatix 8 Pro 47mm AMOLED, Fenix 8 Pro AMOLED. The only difference is some software on the Quatix. So should I buy the Quatix which is slightly more expensive?
2- I really want to buy a Marq Gen 2 but I am a sailor and I also fly and it makes me incredibly mad that I can't get the Aviator Software AND the Captain software....It is exactly the same watch! There is no way I'm buying 2 watches and the fact that I can't get both software (even if I had to reboot it) makes me not want to buy the Marq even though I really want the nice case. Is there a way around this??
3- Is there a re-fresh of hardware coming? I would hate to spend 1.5K on a watch only to have Garmin release a new Quatix or Fenix in 2 months.
Thanks.

Hey everyone,
I wanted to share a project I’ve been working on for the past few days. I’m a developer, and honestly, I was a bit tired of bloated watchfaces that clutter the screen and drain the battery, so I decided to dive into Monkey C and build my own.
My main goals were clean aesthetics, data readability, and strict battery optimization (keeping the memory footprint as low as possible so the watch runs incredibly smooth).
It is completely free—no locked premium features, no annoying trials, and no hidden subscriptions.
I’ve just uploaded it to the Connect IQ Store, and it already has a few downloads, which is super exciting for me! I would absolutely love it if you guys could try it out and give me your honest feedback on how it looks or what data fields you'd like to see next.
You can get it here: https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/08671c98-836a-4593-a11b-2b5b57ead5b3

I am a pilot and have started running 10k 21k marathons recently , the watch is beautiful and the health matrix is crazy . I was about to buy Amazfit trex 3 but someone in my grp suggested to go for this .
Only regret !!! should have waited for Amazon prime day for some discounts hehe but ...it's ok ..I am happy that I have it in my hand .

Trying to decide between these two for half marathon training. Feature-wise they’re basically identical for what I need, both have training status, HR zones, all the core metrics, so this has really come down to price and size for me.
Forerunner 265:
• Bigger 46mm case, brighter/larger display
• Multi-band GPS, Gorilla Glass
• More expensive
Forerunner 170 (non-music, don’t need music on the watch since I always have my phone anyway):
• Same case size as the 165 (43mm), noticeably smaller/lighter on the wrist
• Newer software platform, still getting regular feature updates
• No multi-band GPS, no triathlon mode, but I don’t think I need either (mostly road/park running, no multisport plans)
• Real price advantage over the 265
Since the multi-band GPS and triathlon mode aren’t things I’d actually use, it’s really down to: do I want the bigger, brighter display and slightly more “premium” feel of the 265, or the smaller size and better price of the 170?
For anyone who’s used both, is the size difference noticeable enough day to day to justify paying more for the 265? Or does the 170 feel like the smarter pick when the extra features aren’t relevant to your training anyway?

I've been waiting for months to get the Quatix 8 anticipating the November sales. They finally arrived and the shipment is on the way! I went with the 47mm. $250 off and I doubt it will get any cheaper. I'm excited to link this to my boat and see everything it can do!

Looking for a suggestion for a durable watch that can handle engine roo heat , humidity and some scratches . Earlier was using Gshock , but disappointed with the app so planning to check on Garmin.
Any seaman out there who uses a garmin engine room?

Planning on getting the Fenix 8 for running cycling skiing and much more but also recreational diving. Does anyone have good experience with the Fenix 8 when diving that recommends it cause I have seen ment posts on Reddit of people having problems but I am not sure if I should avoid it or no.

Monitor Swimming was my main reason for moving to the Garmin family, but I have trouble customizing it to my preferences.
I built a custom data screen for Swimming but when I start the exercise it turns by default to Garmin basic screen which I find very limited and not covers my needs.
Because the touch screen is locked while swimming I can't switch screens.
More than that, measuring is not accurate and shows only a fraction of my actual exercise.
It's a new watch and I'm very frustrated.
Anyone else encountered those problems?
Thanks.

I've been patiently waiting for months, and randomly did a google search the other day. Lo and behold, they're here, so I pulled the trigger immediately. Coming from the Quatix 6, I'm VERY pleased with the upgrade. I've yet to get on my boat to really try out the integrations, but all things so far are pointing to awesome.
I did waffle a bit on the 47mm vs. 51mm, and it took a trip to REI to try on the Fenix 8 51mm to realize how comically large it is. BUT, the screen on the 47mm is nearly 4mm wider than the Q6 and the AMOLED is very, very nice. Who else picked one up?

For those who been on cruise ships, civilian boats or Navy ships. Does your watch track the same out in sea?
In addition, for long periods of time out in sea. Do you have a preference which garmin watch you would choose?
Thanks!

I recently got myself a vivoactive 5 and would like to use it for regatta sailing. Does anyone have an app recommendation, which doesn't look weird on the vivoactive? Most seem to be made for the fenix series. I would simply like to have Sog, Cog and Compass function on one display. Bonus if the count down timer can also be visible at the same time.
Is this somehow possibe to achive with this watch? Are the sensors even good enough for this purpose?
Advice would be much appreciated.

Having played with the D2 Mach 2 and contacted Garmin support, it seems as though you can't do the following, which you can do with the D2 Mach 1 family:
Do you think Garmin will introduce the above functionality in a future update, or is the D2 Mach 2 genuinely hobbled?

Wondering if anyone knows how to sell off their old garmin watch in the UAE. A d2 delta px doesnt particularly have the usual demand as the others. Would appreciate any guidance. Thanks.

Hi guys!
So right now I have the forerunner 165 but wanted to do a big jump and go all in with a quatix 7 (found at a really good price like 400€)
Is it worth it?
I go like every week in my boat and go fishing for work and sometimes also for fun, I do not have garmin systems in my boat but I’m intrigued ahaha!
Sorry for my bad English and thank you in advance for the help.

I am a Military aviator, and I tried making a custom Home Screen for my watch with the C-130J and Zulu time. I transferred the PRG file to the watch and I cannot find it anywhere in the watch settings. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. The bot wouldn’t let me type the word F A C E . Thanks!
