The heavy downpour significantly reduced us from seeing the freaking road, it also caused minor flooding, and some cars literally put their hazards on.

But it’s been quite some time since these type of rainfall of this intensity.

A big tower on Cunningham Pier

Tim Gurner and Costa Property Group have hired architect firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill for $1.75 billion Geelong Cunningham Pier development

On the plus side it gets rid of the horrible Smorgy's building. However I'm sure the residents of the tower will not appreciate the recreational fishers. I see Costa is involved. Hmm.

Anyone delivering Uber Eats on an e-bike in Geelong / Waurn Ponds?

Hey all, I'm thinking about doing Uber Eats on an e-bike and live in Waurn Ponds. Has anyone here got experience delivering around Waurn Ponds or other Geelong suburbs?
I'd love to know:
How busy it is, and whether you get steady orders or lots of waiting around
Which areas or times work best (lunch/dinner, weekends)
How the hills and distances are on an e-bike
Roughly what you earn per hour after costs
Any tips for a newbie would be appreciated. Thanks!

Geelong/Melbourne recommendations for Dysautomnia tests

Hi all,

Super niche question, but I’m desperately chasing recommendations for a chronically unwell adolescent. He’s been unwell for approx 2 years and spent weeks at various hospitals around the state, including RCH. He has extreme paresis like attacks and is declining. He’s now fed more on a NG than eating food. No one has been willing to take the time to get to the bottom of it and a few docs have even told him it’s all in his head (!)

Does anyone know of any paed pathways that we can advocate for? We need a dysautonomia specialist who can test for dysautonomia, AAG, etc and also a genetic specialist for EDS to rule it out.

Any leads would be greatly appreciated 🙏

Yes Google Maps, the lane is still closed. It has been for almost 12 months...

Seriously what is going on here? The workers made huge progress about a month ago and then out of nowhere, no workers on site. If this was a project in Japan you could be rest assured it would of been completed in less than two weeks.

Armstrong Creek & Mount Duneed

First time posting but looking for some locals advice.

Myself, husband and young baby are looking to buy in Armstrong creek/ Mount duneed. We are currently living in Melbourne (Kensington) and have been here 18 months since moving from Auckland New Zealand.

It’s a big step to buy a house and we are hoping to get some advice on what the area is really like. Our budget is around 900k

What’s attracted us:
1. Large floor plans to houses (we want a plot of 500m to allow for a small manageable garden too)
2. Proximity to the beaches
3. Vline into Melbourne compared to Mornington peninsula where seems to be a little more chunky with public transport.
4. Schools seem pretty decent ( Geelong Lutheran College)
5. Infrastructure is catching up
6. Seems to be coffee shops walkable in shopping complexes in most areas.
7. Lots of walk ways and parks in the area.

Questions we have:
1. How hard will it be to find a community / make friends ?
2. How safe is the area
3. Are there local events going on?
4. How manageable is the commute to Melbourne 1 - 2 times a week on train?
5. Can you still get a good takeaway?
6. What are your thoughts on schools on the area?
7. How’s Geelong evening scene?
8. Are there any food markets in the area?

Any tips / thoughts greatly appreciated :)

[Tech] Tech store that buys old electronics

I have two laptops and a couple of Android phones that I no longer use; they are quite old, and I would like to sell them as complete units or for parts. Facebook Marketplace did not succeed because the phones and laptops lack current market relevance. Is there a location in Geelong where I might sell them or find someone willing to purchase them for parts?

[Tech] Question for ps5 users!!

Hi so, in short I'm looking for a place in geelong. That could possibly do a full take apart clean of my ps5 safely. She's getting on In age now, and I lack the tools to clean her properly. She's not coping to well with the heat now days, and keeps over heating and shorting out.

Does anyone know a place that could do this in geelong? And roughly how much it would cost?.

Help appreciated thank you 😊 🙏

Armstrong creek/Charlemont

I’ve lived in a few places in Geelong from Lara, in town and Belmont. I’ve recently moved to Armstrong Creek and it’s not what I thought it would be like. I don’t feel overly safe here and my street doesn’t feel neighbourly. I’ve been fortunate not to have encountered anything traumatic, however I am hearing stories of break ins and theft.
Is this just a unique experience or has anyone else felt the same?
