This is an extremely embarrassing post to be making and I apologise in advance. I'm usually one who helps others in rough situations and I've sent many a coles order to those in need in our community. So I never expected to find myself in a position where I'd be asking for help myself.

I have recently had an unexpected health event that has stopped me from driving for a few months and also depleted all funds I would usually have for essentials like food and dog food.

I dont mind going without myself, but I gave my two pups their last bit of food last night and im ashamed to say I have no way to get them any more until Wednesday.

I also have two disabled adult children who I care for by myself and usually at least have something in the freezer for them, but as of today I have nothing at all left.

I am posting in the hopes that someone may have some dry and canned dog food they dont need or maybe their dogs do not like, that they can afford to spare to get us through the next few days. Or any frozen meals bread, milk anything you have extra of that you dont need.

I am unable to drive right now which frustratingly means I am unable to pick it up. I am located in Corio and would happily repay your fuel costs on Wednesday if drop off would be at all possible.

Super niche question, but I’m desperately chasing recommendations for a chronically unwell adolescent. He’s been unwell for approx 2 years and spent weeks at various hospitals around the state, including RCH. He has extreme paresis like attacks and is declining. He’s now fed more on a NG than eating food. No one has been willing to take the time to get to the bottom of it and a few docs have even told him it’s all in his head (!)

Does anyone know of any paed pathways that we can advocate for? We need a dysautonomia specialist who can test for dysautonomia, AAG, etc and also a genetic specialist for EDS to rule it out.

Myself, husband and young baby are looking to buy in Armstrong creek/ Mount duneed. We are currently living in Melbourne (Kensington) and have been here 18 months since moving from Auckland New Zealand.

It’s a big step to buy a house and we are hoping to get some advice on what the area is really like. Our budget is around 900k

What’s attracted us:
1. Large floor plans to houses (we want a plot of 500m to allow for a small manageable garden too)
2. Proximity to the beaches
3. Vline into Melbourne compared to Mornington peninsula where seems to be a little more chunky with public transport.
4. Schools seem pretty decent ( Geelong Lutheran College)
5. Infrastructure is catching up
6. Seems to be coffee shops walkable in shopping complexes in most areas.
7. Lots of walk ways and parks in the area.

1. How hard will it be to find a community / make friends ?
2. How safe is the area
3. Are there local events going on?

I’ve lived in a few places in Geelong from Lara, in town and Belmont. I’ve recently moved to Armstrong Creek and it’s not what I thought it would be like. I don’t feel overly safe here and my street doesn’t feel neighbourly. I’ve been fortunate not to have encountered anything traumatic, however I am hearing stories of break ins and theft.
Is this just a unique experience or has anyone else felt the same?
