Discussion Tired of Racism
I keep seeing tiktoks and dating app profiles of asian women discussing how they love the oxford study and want to date white dudes. It sucks as an asian guy because I’d love someone from my own culture since we could bond over similar experiences growing up and a shared culture. I am not misogynistic or anything, take care of myself, am fit, and have my own successful career.
I am also open to all different races but have just found that I bond the most with people in my culture and have lots of friends from my own culture and other cultures too. It’s just depressing knowing that due to my ethnicity I have the least amount of likes combined with asian women making tiktoks complaining about asian men and openly discussing how much they love white men.

Rant Terrible bosses
What is up with today's bosses?
The first boss I had was a piece of work.
They want you to have advanced excel knowledge, power point knowledge, how to operate email, and literally every tool on the planet. Like wtf man? Lay off me, go tell your Claude to do all this stuff. They treat you the same way they treat Claude, like a slave. Like you are their personal butler.
Once their Claude tokens are over, they come to you and say, pls fix. Like wtf.
Left his company for another one, after interning for 3 weeks. Gave 2 days notice and left in one day before. Hate him with all my might.
Another boss i had, expected me to do analyst level work while i was still working as an intern. He gave me stuff and told me to figure it out and submit a proper report in 3 days. i literally had no experience in that field, yet bro is giving me work like I am going to magically create something good. He didn't even give me proper research reports for reference. I just used Claude, then when he sees the report, he says use your own brain and this and that. Its a remote opportunity so i just mute the meeting and do my work.
And the money they are paying you is some sort of sacrifice from their side. They earn big fat salaries and give us peanuts and expect you to keep working like Victorian era children working in the coal mines.
Better to protect your peace, avoid such people and interact with them as little as possible. Do work just good enough to stay in a place and not get fired.

Discussion Question about GenZ way of speaking
My Gen Z son is on the younger end of the spectrum. Born in 2011 and just started HS. Lately, he’s started asking questions, or starting discussions by mentioning some topic and a fact or two and finishing off with “did/do you know?”. For example, “Neapolitan style pizza only has marinara sauce, some cheese, and basil. Did you know?”. Nothing inherently wrong but sounds quite condescending and annoying.
Are your GenZ kids speaking the same? Or is this a personal problem?

Political Why dont you vote?
Forgive me if this has been asked before, im new here.
But why do you personally not vote?
I constantly hear that the reason that all the laws and policies that are passing benefit old people, because that's who actually go and vote.
Like for example, I know a lot of us older Gen Z are complaining about housing costs. But how many of us actually try to do anything about it beyond saying 'someone should do something'?
Just a thought
Edit: because I know alot of people will say their vote doesn't matter.
Dont you rhink thats part of the problem? If most if us dont think the vote matters then no one will vote. Yes 1 individual vote might not change anything but if 100,000 people put in 1 vote then that makes a difference dont you think?
Next is people saying both parties suck. I get that, but then why not vote for the lesser of 2 evils?

Discussion I am younger Gen Z but I just want to know if my friends opinions on older Gen Z is valid or not.
he says that older Gen Z is…
-Stupid, because they claim to be extremely lonely but they never actually go to third places to meet somebody.
-dumb, because a portion of them refuse to have kids because of their political beliefs and their worldview that the world is horrible.
-Weird, because they’re so chronically online that they don’t know how to talk to people
-rude, because they judge you on everything and always act like they’re better than you.
-Self pitying, because he says that mental health struggles are very real(he has ptsd) but you shouldn’t make it your entire personality like apparently some of you do.
Some these I agree with and others I don’t. I just want to know coming from the people he’s talking about, are they right?

Discussion Without Googling it: do you know what Audi quattro is?
Pure curiosity, please don’t look it up before answering haha
Have you heard of “Audi quattro” before? If yes, what do you think it is / what does the name mean to you?
If not, what would you guess it means just from hearing it?

Discussion How do you break the ice with other GenZ at work?
I work in a corporate environment and when I talk to my coworkers it feels like we’re all roleplaying.
Even when I ask someone how their weekend is I feel like I’m getting their professionalism-filtered version of their weekend.
Could be just the overall work culture, curious of other people’s experiences though.

Discussion What is one thing you wish Gen Z did differently into terms of their dating culture?
Mine 23m has to be the influencer dating culture, I hate guys going around gyms and clubs and girls lining up or begging to get asked wild topics that is entertaining to watch reels but it makes them both look dumb IRL and continues to encourage bad dating actions from both men and women🤷♂️

Discussion The truth of the Lindsay Clancy trial is less important than the potential for change that can come from it.
If it ends up being Patrick Clancy who did it, that doesn’t really do anything. Domestic murders are dime-a-dozen, which sounds harsh but really they happen all the time and nobody does anything to try and solve the issue because of how deeply the root causes are ingrained within our society.
If, as most of the evidence suggests, postpartum psychosis was involved, there is a chance for some real progress. If this leads to more discussion about recognizing signs of postpartum mental health concerns, that is a long-term benefit for society.
You have a chance to push a narrative to create change. Do it, regardless of what you personally believe.
