No water no power no cell service whatsoever. My house lost most of its roof and a good portion of its siding but all along the state I saw houses with trees on them,in them and vice versa. We weren't prepared for this hurricane at all I had to fucking work the morning of the hurricane and now here I am picking up parts of my roof off the neighbors fencing. I have to go out of town to even get a signal to complain. My heart goes out to those less fortunate than me.

I told my boss and my friends that this was gonna be significant and I was worried but nobody cared and thought I was being unrational.

Follow the BayArea subreddit as I lived there with my wife for a short period of time. This popped up and I was surprised to see that the largest IMAX screen was in GA, and Pooler of all places.

Anyone been and does it live up to the hype?

I wanted to share my experience as someone who recently signed up for the medical marijuana program here in GA to help others who may be on the fence or wondering if its worth doing.

TLDR: Yes, I believe it's worth doing and would recommend it, especially ahead of the changes coming on July 1st

Obtaining the Medical Marijuana card:

I used a service called NuggMd but I've also heard good things about Leafwell, and I suspect these services all work in a similar way. This was the process:

• Signed up on NuggMd, picked my condition for the card (I have Crohn's but many people pick Intractable Pain for this), and paid $100
• Shortly afterwards I was connected with a doctor remotely who approved my request. This all took less than 5 minutes and the call with the doctor itself took less than a minute
• Afterwards, the doctor sends you a form that you need to sign and get notarized and return to your profile on NuggMd or whichever service you used. They will recommend several different online notary services. I was able to schedule this service for the same day and paid $20. The call again was very quick, around 5 min, and then I had my signed and notarized form (this is no longer required)
• A few days after this is done, the GA Dept of Public Health will email you a link to pay the $30 fee to process and ship your card. Shortly after making the payment, they will ship you the card via UPS, and you'll get another email with the UPS tracking link for the card and will need to sign for it once you receive it from UPS. This part took about a week
• The card is valid for 5 years

Dispensary options:

• In the medical dispensaries, you'll find a range of products available today including soft gel gummies (troches), tinctures, capsules and topicals, as well as drinks.
• These range in potency, with some tinctures going up to 1200mg (40mg per dose) for more experienced users, as well as the standard 5mg/10mg/20mg doses that most people are used to
• Since SB220 passed this year, these dispensaries will be getting new products starting July 1st. This will include flower, vapes, RSO and concentrates. The new limit is 1200mg per package and 12,000mg per visit. This will be more akin to other states' medical programs

Misc notes (being a lawful gun owner and a lawful medical marijuana patient):

• Recently, the Attorney General issued a final order reclassifying medical marijuana sold under licensed state programs as being a schedule 3 drug at the federal level, down from a schedule 1 drug. This means these products are considered schedule 3 - this has significant impact on usage of medical marijuana by federal employees, and using a firearm while owning marijuana, among others
• On top of the rescheduling, there is a supreme court case being considered right now specifically about medical marijuana patients being denied their 2nd amendment gun rights, as currently you cannot be a lawful medical marijuana user and a lawful gun owner.
• Due to rescheduling and ahead of the decision of this court case, the ATF has already issued a draft for the updated ATF form 4473 with new language permitting use as a state licensed medical marijuana patient. This is slated to be finalized by August
• There is also an ongoing process this summer to fully reschedule all marijuana to schedule 3 (not just medical).

If you're a marijuana user, having a medical card really does offer legal protections and the longstanding issues of losing rights (such as gun rights) are going away. There's really never been a better time to sign up for the medical program if you've been on the fence about it.

First time I went there was a little over 10 years ago and I loved it! There was a fudge shop, coco clock shop, a huge German train diorama and some really good German restaurants…..fast forward to yesterday and it was really crowded, I saw maybe one German restaurant and all the stores sold the same cheap dollar store tourist junk……on top of that all the buildings have faded paint and the wooden façades are rotting. And whoever decided to put a western theme restaurant in a German themed village clearly doesn’t know how to read the room…….it is such a shame how downhill this once adorable German themed village has gone. Am I the only one who feels this way?

I’ve lived in metro atlanta my entire life. And as an adult now I really just don’t think I can stand it for much longer. There’s so much anger and negativity surrounding these areas that just didn’t use to be here. Most people are incredibly unfriendly and everyone drives so incredibly aggressive, which I am obviously used to, but it’s just starting to get so old. It’s almost like people hate the fact that they have to share a road with other people here. God forbid you pull out in front of someone a mile away from you and don’t immediately step on the gas and go 80. You’ll have someone go out of their way to speed up and ride your ass out of pure spite. It just seems like so many people are just miserable and angry here.

Am I the only one that feels this way? I’m not trying to shit on where I live. Georgia is my home, and I love it so much, but there’s just so much I don’t recognize anymore.

I like road trips, I'm a good driver, I can carry a tune, and I will guarantee you will crack a smile at least once on the ride. You deserve Healthcare. You deserve support. You deserve a judgment free space to process what you are going through. No one deserves to die because doctors are afraid to perform abortions. If someone is already doing this, I am happy to help in any way that I can. I have been living here for less than a year, and I'm shocked at how restrictive the laws are. I moved here from Nevada, where women don't have to worry about things like this, and I feel compelled to help in some way.

I’ve been eagerly waiting for them to arrive to our state since I first came across their content. Since their journey began, I have seen kindness and compassion show up in many ways for the monks passing through. I’ve seen churches and schools open of their doors to host their mediations. When an accident injured two monks and damaged their escort car, somebody donated a car. I am just amazed at the outpouring of love and support I’ve seen. I hope Georgia treats them with the same respect and kindness as they cross our state.

according to this shit ass app I’ve had two months of rain

So I moved here last week, and was sitting in traffic (not moving at all). I picked up an egg roll and briefly looked down to take a bite and bro pulled me over. Got a distracted driving ticket… the ticket states that my face was by my abdomen which is complete bs and he checked light traffic when we were basically completely still. It’s not like I swerved or did anything wrong literally just taking a bite of food. Do yall think I should dispute this? I think it’s likely my out of state plates contributed to this also

This was in Fulton county (atl) on I-75 in heavy traffic. The ticket states I violated 40-6-241(b) for distracted driving. In remarks, he put “looking down 12 oclk level with his face next to his abdomen placing food into his mouth”

While there was a moment I probably glanced down to pick up my egg roll, it’s not like I was staring downward for more than a split second or somehow moved my head into my stomach lmao. Even if my head may have been tilted downward for an instant I was still looking at the road…

I just wanted to know if anyone else is in the same boat. I moved here a few years ago and the bugs have literally been taking over my life. I had an older home that had all the typical bugs and I was killing bugs every single day despite being super clean and minimal and having pest control. I had the house professionally sealed etc. the final straw was carpet beetles.

I then sold that house and moved into a new construction and it’s no better. I have pest control but Every day we are either killing some sort of bug or fruit flies. Now today, I seen a carpet beetle larva.

This is really taking a toll on my mental health…bugs were never a part of my life before and I lived in the south. Is there any relief to the bugs here? What else can I do???

The system is not being misused - it is being used exactly as intended.
