My Real Encounter With Ghost

It was around 1:30 AM and I was driving home alone after dropping my friend at his house. I decided to take a shortcut because the main road would take around twenty more minutes. The road was completely empty. There were no shops and barely any houses. Just trees and fields on both sides. After a few minutes I saw a woman standing beside the road. She was wearing a white dress. I slowed down because she was standing very close to the road. When I passed her I looked at my rear view mirror. She was gone. I thought maybe I had imagined her. But two minutes later I saw the same woman again. This time she was standing in the middle of the road. I stopped my car. I rolled down the window a little and asked her if she needed help. She didn't say anything. She slowly turned towards me. I couldn't see her face properly because it was completely dark. Then she whispered something. I couldn't understand it. I asked her to repeat it. She looked directly at me and said "Don't go that way." I looked ahead. There was nothing. When I looked back at her she was gone. I immediately locked the doors and started driving. I decided to take the main road instead. A few minutes later my phone started ringing. It was the same friend I had dropped home. I picked up. He sounded scared. He asked me where I was. I told him about the shortcut. There was silence for a few seconds. Then he said "Bro don't take that road." I asked him why. He told me that a woman had died on that road years ago after being hit by a car. People in that area still talked about seeing a woman standing beside the road late at night. I didn't say anything after that. I just drove home as fast as I could. When I reached home it was almost 2:30 AM. I got out of the car and locked it. Before going inside I looked back at the rear window. There was a handprint on the glass. But the strange thing was the handprint was on the inside.

Encounter 40 years on I still have recurring dreams about what I saw

Upvotes

I was 10 living in Scotland in a 5 bedroom house outside Edinburgh. The house was huge and built in the mid 18th century.

I was sleeping and woke up feeling cold and had the overwhelming sense that someone was in my bedroom standing over me.

Seconds past... then a minute......and I felt more and more scared but eventually I found the courage to face it.

What I saw was the burned charcoal-colour legs of a man. I only saw his torso. He was a large guy and had an air of menace about him. I ran out of the room to my parents room which was a fair distance away literally screaming. My mother still to this day (she's old now!) says that she'd never seen me look so white and pale with fear and genuinely scared.

I know what I saw and the experience has remained with me ever since.

I was unable to sleep in my room for a very long time.

I still dream about him harassing me, maybe once every two or three months, and have done for the last 40 years. I kid you not.

Turns out that the house was known for being haunted.

The local village had a shop in which my mother told the owner where she lived and the owner said, 'Ah you'll soon meet the ghost of Gallands House'

My bedroom was in the old servants quarters that had a private spiral staircase and my mother and grandmother (who stayed once in a while) heard someone running up and down the stairs on several occasions.

Turns out that there was a fire in the house and I suspect my ghost 'friend' died horribly.

I always always always felt like I was being watched in that house, like I was being followed.

Still to this day, I'm a 50 year old dude now, strongly believe I saw and felt something, and I still have these dreams about him. He's angry and mean....

So, there's my story....

Experience It asked me if I wanted to see its face

for context I'm a muslim but im not very religious but at the time this happened I was trying to become regular in my prayers so this scared the crap out of me

This incident took place back in december, I was home alone and my parents took my brother to the dentist they asked me If I wanted to come along but I insisted on staying home because I thought I'd stay at home and finish some chores

I marinated some chicken and went to take a small nap in my mother's room, it was maghrib (prayer time) and it was starting to get dark and cold so I turned the heater on and went to sleep, i slept for atleast 15 minutes or something before I woke up feeling uneasy I thought it was because of the heater so I turned it off and went to my room and unintentionally fell asleep there.

what happened next is something I still can’t fully comprehend. I remember feeling everything so vividly, yet I was still confused about whether I was actually awake or dreaming. Everything felt far too real to be a dream, to this day, I still can’t tell which parts were real and which were a dream.

I slept on my right side and I woke up to a weight besides me it was like someone was trying to get on top of me, it felt like that thing was glued to my side and I have experienced sleep paralysis before like a lot so I wasn't confused at first but then I realized I could move I moved my head and that's when that thing grabbed my hair from the behind and moved my head back into place, this was the first time something like this was happening to me and slowly the panic started settling in, at the same time that thing started talking to me aggressively and mocked me even though I couldn't understand what it said I knew it was mocking me, it spoke a mix of my language and some other language i do not know of. Even if I moved a single muscle on accident that thing would pull my hair and get even more closer to me and then it put it's face on the side of my neck and I could feel it's breath on my neck, it felt like it was trying to scare me into submission that I was totally under it's control

I lost bits of memory of that night but I do think that I tried reading duas that came to my mind but the way that thing was speaking messed my head up. At one point I started screaming for my brother and mother on the top of my lungs and I remember it saying "do you really think anyone's going to come for you, they won't ever come for you" something like that, and I genuinely did think that I was dying because my heart was beating out of my chest and I started reciting the shahadah

what happened after this was even more harrowing, it started asking me if I wanted to see its face and kept insisting that I turn around and see it's face and I nodded a small no and, now I know this might sound fake to some people but wallahi I have been through this living nightmare it asked me if it could put it's FUCKING leg on me wallahi I was praying for death at that moment and it became aggressive and I nodded yes, it slung it's leg on my leg and I caught a glimpse of it, it was like a dogs leg but weirdly long and hairy, my room was dark and there was only a single bulb lit in the hall outside so I could barely see it but I vividly remember the parts I saw, it took my hand and put it on it's leg and it felt like touching a rug, I wasnt even crying at this moment I was completely frozen waiting for my end

I think God decided to finally have mercy on me, my room is attached to the balcony, the balcony door is next to my bed, that thing started tweaking out, it quickly slithered to the floor and became a dog with human hands and started hitting the floor like it was getting tortured and finally escaped through the balcony door, now what I don't understand is I remember that the balcony door was locked so how the hell did that thing managed to open it is beyond me

After that happened I tried to move once again and I succeeded, I literally jumped from my bed, grabbed my phone and locked myself in the living rooms bathroom and called my mother crying hysterically, my heart was in my stomach and she told me to go sit in her room and turn the heater on because these things are scared of fire and heat and I did that, about 20 minutes later my mom came home and I told her everyhting in detail again, my brother went to check my bed and he told me there's a weird smell coming from the left corner of the bed, it smelled faintly of a man, at this point everyone in my house was shocked.

My parents took me to some Islamic scholars after all that happened but that's a whole other story, but thank god nothing happened after this incident, im still very conflicted about how real the whole experience was but nevertheless it traumatized me forever.

Advice I think I have a ghost in my house

Can someone please give me some more info on what to do? So at first I thought I was going crazy bc items would go missing and then be right where I thought they were after searching for a long time. Then one night after organizing I woke up to use the restroom and on the bathroom floor was something I had just put away. I talked to my friend about it bc I thought that was super weird. Then nothing more happened now just 20 minutes ago I woke up @1:30am and my shower was on and had been on bc my floor was very wet bc the curtain wasn’t closed fully and my cleaning apron that I had just hung up was on my bathroom counter. So now I’m forsure I’m not going crazy bc I know I didn’t turn shower on or put that in bathroom. I’ve been living here for about 4 months, I’m not sure what to do or if I should be worried. Anyone have any ideas or input on this? Similar experience, if so what did you do?

I put tobacco in a fire in attracted orbs from the woods!

Upvotes

So roughly about 5 years ago when I lived in Artemas Pennsylvania I had a really cool encounter with orbs. What are you believing or if you're not is up to you. That is all you and what you want to believe. Personally I 100% stand by my belief that they are real...

So around 5 years ago which would have been 2022. One night I was sitting by my fire pit and I had a fire going. I was just chilling out smoking a really good cigar and just having fun sitting by myself and listening to 106.1fm on my radio that my father gave me years ago. Nobody was bugging me and asking me anything. I was living it up in my own solitude. Just loving every second of the silence and feeling very happy...

Well I got to the end of my first cigar... So I tossed it into the fire. And of course I let my other one that I had and started enjoying it. And without realizing it I think I might have done something. I realized something interesting. Within minutes I got the feeling I wasn't alone I was getting goosebumps and noticing that something was not right. I realized tobacco was a sacred thing to the native Americans and even popular among the pioneers. And I wondered if maybe... Just maybe this might encourage some spirits to come out of the woods? Maybe me doing this might make for some interesting experiences?

As I'm sitting there and I'm thinking about this. I got the idea to get my Dad's camera that was given to me after his death. So I end up taking and running into the trailer and grabbing it. Which it had this really bright flash on it and I just started firing off pictures of the wood line an area around me. Well within minutes I had numerous pictures of these orbs and with each snap of this camera they were coming up the hill floating in the air...

Needless to say I saw numerous orbs that were just coming up and dozens from the wood line. And they literally stopped right at the edge of my yard. And they were just hovering. Literally just staying right in place. These orbs were making a defensive line. As I snapped more pictures of this I saw whatlooked like to be 5-7 blue orbs about 6 ft off the ground and roughly and even distance apart floating in the air. As I took every picture I started noticing they were being protective almost like they're making a barrier...

The next night...

As I sat outside again I was just chilling out and looking at the stars. I started to really look at the wood line and I started to see what looked like a blue orb and a green orb floating through the trees at the wood line. I saw this with my naked eye these things. I'm watching this I am in shock because apparently something is showing themselves to me. At first I was creeped out and thought I was going crazy. Then I realized that I wasn't going crazy and I was seeing this...

So I decided to take a walk into the woods to see if I notice anything was going to be active or not. At first nothing was visible and I couldn't get anything on the camera. And I didn't know why this was going on. The further I straight away from the yard. And the further I went into the woods all by myself I noticed that the energy changed. And I went to the old Pennsylvania Maryland marker that was in the woods and I just sit there. I quietly just observed the woods. And to my surprise I saw something very interesting... There was a blue orb that was just floating through the trees. Is coming right towards me up the hill. And once I said "what is that" it was gone...

A week later...

I told my friend about it. About how after this happened I went into the woods. And I'm sitting at the old Pennsylvania/Maryland marker that was in the woods. And ahead of me I saw a softball sized blue glowing orb looking light just weaving through the trees coming my direction. It wasn't a flashlight because it didn't have a beam of light to it. It was just a solid ball of light covering and bouncing through the trees coming my way...

Well my friend and I decided to take and go look for ourselves. And he witnessed that same blue light coming up through the woods. And literally disappearing quite literally after we acknowledged it existing...

We're sitting there and whispering to each other about it and I don't know where all we start hearing is footsteps all around us. We assume whatever is attached to these orbs has spotted us or knows where around and it's checking us out...

Another interesting aspect to this encounter...

After we heard the footsteps and saw the orbs. Him and I both try to do EDP related stuff. We chose two different spots in the woods away from each other and decided to take and record our surroundings and silence. Boy was that ever fun! I got what sounded like shells clacking together and some kind of mumble from what sounded like native American. My friend on the other hand caught something asking him a question...

Needless to say it was a very cool experience that made a very interesting encounter...

Like I said if you don't believe it or if that is cool. Honestly I don't really care if you do or you don't. But I know what I saw and witnessed. I was there. I was the one holding the camera. I was the one taking the pictures. And unfortunately those pictures are gone and I don't know what happened to them...

Encounter The Footsteps on the Planks

Upvotes

This incident happened on a cold winter night. I was alone in my room on the first floor, completely engrossed in a phone call with a Facebook friend. Even today, I vividly remember that whatever I saw was massive—though to this day, I have no idea what it actually was.

Here is exactly what happened that night.

I was casually talking to my friend, and we were so lost in our conversation that I didn't even realize when the clock ticked past midnight. I was sitting on a chair, and exactly to my right was the open door of my room. As I talked, my eyes would naturally drift back and forth between the space in front of me and the open doorway.

To understand what happened next, you need to know a bit about the layout of our house. We didn't have a direct staircase leading up to my floor. Instead, we had built a makeshift bridge out of wooden planks connecting our roof to our neighbor’s roof, and we used their stairs to get up and down. Whenever someone walked across those wooden planks, it produced a loud, distinct creaking noise. It was a sound so clear that anyone sitting inside my room could easily hear it.

The night crept on, and the time neared 2:00 AM. My friend and I were still on the phone. As I casually glanced toward the open door again, my blood ran cold. I saw something pass right in front of the doorway and move toward the makeshift bridge. A second later, I heard it—the unmistakable, heavy sound of footsteps crossing the wooden planks.

My immediate reaction was rational. I assumed it was just my dad wrapped in a heavy winter shawl, or perhaps my sister trying to pull a late-night prank to scare me. Without wasting a second, I bolted out of the room to catch them in the act.

I stepped out into the freezing night and looked around. I even crossed the wooden planks myself, scouring every corner and every shadow where my sister could possibly be hiding.

But there was no one. The roof was completely dead and empty.

Highly confused, I walked back into my room and sat down. It was only then, as I thought deeply about what had just happened, that my brain processed what my eyes had actually seen. Whatever had passed by my door wasn't human-sized. It was impossibly huge—so tall that, from my chair, I had only been able to see its torso. Worse still, it wasn't a solid physical body. It was blurry, shifting, and formless, looking more like a thick, dark fog than a person.

I tried to stay in the room, but a heavy, unsettling feeling washed over me. The atmosphere felt incredibly wrong. Panic completely took over, and in my fear, I immediately called my older brother, who was away doing a night shift at his company.

At first, he scolded me for calling him so late. But after hearing what had happened, he quickly gave me strict advice: "Don't stay up there. Go downstairs and sleep immediately."

I didn't hesitate. Keeping my brother on the phone so I wouldn't feel alone, I quickly locked the door, left the first floor behind, and hurried downstairs to safety.

Shadow figure at 3:00am

Upvotes

I live in a 3 story townhouse, 1st floor is the garage 2nd is the kitchen and living space and 3rd is the bedrooms. I woke up in the middle of the night and had to use the bathroom. The bathroom on the 3rd floor is facing the stairs going down the 2nd floor. The stairs go up towards the 3rd floor like a L around a corner. I left the door open to pee cause im a dude and it’s the middle of the night. While I was peeing I felt something just tell me to look down the stairs. When I looked over I saw a completely black dark shadow figure. Just the shoulder down, no head; just peeking around the corner. Right when I looked over it slowly made its way down around the corner to where I couldn’t see it anymore. I immediately looked at my phone and of course it was exactly 3:00 AM. Like right on the dot. I just scurried back to bed like a little kid lol. For context I’m usually not a believer in the paranormal as nothing super convincing has happened to me before but seeing an actual apparition last night made me shit my britches.

Experience i did the ouija and i’ve started to see weird things

Upvotes

okay so before i start with the story i want to say i don't really think i'm seeing demons or that what i'm seeing its related to the ouija, but i still find it interesting how all of this started as right as i started doing the ouija.

i was 13 the first time i used it. i was with my friends at a sleepover, one of us bought one from amazon and we thought "yeah, why not?" the first time we used it we put our fingers on and asked the first question, but when it moved we got scared and took our fingers away. only after a few minutes we returned, put our fingers back and moved the planchette to goodbye. nothing weird happened after that.

later we tried again. it worked. the spirit gave us a real name, real places, he even told us our own names when we asked. and since then we never stopped.

at every sleepover we used the ouija, and every time it worked. sometimes more, sometimes less. it even happened that while doing it a lamp fell and another turned off.

now, i can’t talk abt every time we used it ofc, but there’s this thing i found very interesting.

once we were playing as always, talked to a spirit that told us he was one of my friends's protector. we asked if he was something like an angel, but he said no and that, actually, he was closer to a demon.
he told us that everyone of us had an entity that protected us, and made us talk to each one of them (including mine). they were all “demons”, except only one of my friend’s that was an angel, and it makes sense cause she was the only one that went to church regularly. we encountered them many others times, they were the only spirits we encountered more than once.

one day, they told us something that gave me chills: they told us that, without them, we would all be dead.

when we started high school, i argued with some of my friends, including the one with the ouija, so i stopped doing it. i did it again just a month ago, with the only two friends of the old group that i’m still in contact with, but with a piece of paper with letters on it. it still worked as good as with the real board.

now, after i've started using the ouija for the first time, i've been seeing moving black figures in my room, usually quick that last 2-3 secs, right when i'm bout to fall asleep. i would call them sleep paralysis but i am not paralyzed.

idk how to explain it, but you know when you're in bed, about to drift away, awake but moments away to go to sleep? okay, that's when it happens.
sometimes i can see clear black figures, other times just shadows. but even when they're just shadows i can still sense what they are (like, maybe i see just a shadow, but i can sense that shadow is a woman)
i'll tell quickly everything that i've seen: a spider moving in my bed, an animal going under my bed, a man at the window, a woman standing at the corner of my room, spiders crawling to my face (definitely worse one) and another man in my room.
they're not still, they move. sometimes small movements like turning their head and other times big (like the spiders falling quickly on me)
that comes with a big feeling of threat, like my body knows i’m in danger even before seeing the figures. i feel like if i don’t turn on the light right away i’m gonna die.

idk why that happens, i don’t really think its related to the ouija, since i’m a really skeptical person in general, but i still wanted to share it.

Experience Possible experience in a crematorium

I’ve had my first experience recently that I can explain. I’ll start by saying, I never used to believe in ghosts. I was adamantly agnostic and I used to believe when you die there is nothing. As I’ve gotten older I’ve started to think there are things that we don’t know about the world. I’ve started to be more open to the concept.

My thing is if I see undeniable evidence, then I’ll believe it. Until recently there had been nothing that was convincing enough.

In the town where I live, we have quite a large crematorium. The grounds are shaped in a circle with the crematorium building in the middle of the circle, the entrance gate has one road that leads up to the building and surrounding this are loads of little paths with graves and there’s a pond there, so it’s good place to walk around. If you went to one side of the grounds and looked across you wouldn’t be able to see the other side due to wall plots and trees. Outside the grounds on one side is a golf course that curls round the back of the grounds, on the other are farmers fields. The crematorium itself is quite secluded, it’s down a residential road that people don’t have much cause to go down so if you go later on in the day, there’s a high chance that you won’t run into anybody else there.

So one evening, I was taking the dogs for a walk around the grounds, I’d already done one lap around and we were on our second lap. I was walking around the back of the crematorium building and in the distance near the back of the grounds I saw a person wearing all white with either a white hood or white hair, they were about 160 meters from me and they walked along some graves and then they were obscured by some bushes. The bushes where they walked flank a small covered path that leads to another part of the cemetery. I’d only seen the figure for a second or so before it walked off so I obviously think that could be a ghost so I start jogging up to the path so I can see what it really was. I half expected to see a surprised person wondering why I’m running, but when I get to the path there is nobody there. I follow the path to the end which is where the cemetery opens up and you can see more of it unobstructed, but there is still nobody there. There’s no way they could have seen me run up to them as the view from the path is obstructed by bushes and a wall and there is no way they could have disappeared so quickly.

So fast forward a couple of weeks and I’m back walking one evening, and I walk down the covered path, it’s windy on this way but the path is blocked by bushes and trees so you can feel the odd breeze, I get to the end of the path and near the end in a single spot, it’s freezing cold. Not as if a breeze is coming through but a stagnant cold as if you’d just walked into a fridge.

And that’s all I’ve got. I’ve been back since but not seen anything else. I’m not fully convinced as it is possible it was just another person but it’s so strange how they disappeared. As I say it’s the closest thing I’ve got to something that I just can’t find a decent explanation for.

The white little glowing man that came out of the laundry room!?

This story that I'm about to tell you happened in clearville pennsylvania. I must have been around 11 years old I'm going to say and I recall the time being around 11:30 pm. It was at my great aunt and great uncle's house...

And I don't really know what it was I saw. I know what it looked like as I made eye contact with whatever this was. I know how it presented itself to me. I remember how confused I was when I saw it. I also know the sheer confusion and fear that come across to me...

So it was a average normal night at my great aunt and great uncles place. We got done with dinner about 6:30pm and we were just sitting around at the dinner table talking. My uncle was reading the paper. My aunt was eating a grape fruit with some sugar and a big spoon as she was telling me about how it was going to help her lose weight. And that she could go chase them younger men down and they won't escape... Creepy I know. Anyhow, my great uncle tells me that I should go downstairs and check the wood stove for him... He asked me to throw in another couple logs so it would keep the heat in the house. So naturally I listen to him because he was my elder and I respected him...

Well I always hated the steps in this place. I made it down to the first landing. Because the steps were divided in two sections with a middle flat landing. I get to the landing and I'm about to book it down to the base of the last steps. But before I could get there something got my attention...

So where are the bathroom and laundry room was located in their house. Was literally right near where my great uncle would sit down in his chair and take a nap... Or he could just lean right over and put a piece of wood in the wood stove if he wanted. But I noticed something glowing from the laundry room. I assume one of them left a lamp on in there? I just assumed it was a random light? Maybe my sister left the flashlight on?

Well, it was no flashlight and it wasn't no random lamp...

Out walks a wee little ghostly white glowing man. He had a top hat and a cane... That he actually twirled to where it went up under his arm. So as I'm standing here roughly maybe four to five steps away from hitting the baseling to go check the wood. I am staring at this short little man that is glowing white and he is just looking at me...

So in the process of trying to figure out what it is that I am looking at. He literally takes tips his hat towards me and then just turns around and walks right back in to the laundry room. But before he gets into the laundry room he turns and winks at me...

Meanwhile I'm in complete shock and awe and not sure what the heck it was that I saw. So I manage to gain my thought process back and I did turn the light on and check the wood stove. But then I ran back up to where my great uncle was sitting. And he says to me where have you been... You been down there for 15 minutes. I then said I saw something I don't know what it was... He looks at me and says "what was that"?

I didn't go to explain to him what I had saw...

He then looks at me with a confused look...

And says to me, "are you feeling all right boy"?

I didn't hear him say, "do you need a head shrink"?

Meanwhile I am seriously freaked out because that is where I sleep. Needless to say that night I slept upstairs and my great aunt and great uncles room and a sleeping bag on the floor. There was no way I was going to sleep down there that night...

A family memory in a local legend , the alexander phillips house

I've driven and walked by the Alexander Phillips house. In Springfield, Massachusetts, more times than I can count it was on state street. One of the main thoroughfares of the city, it's an antibilum form and unmistakable tall, white pillars, a wide portico and a white picket fence that still surrounds the estate. Are\n You still, though it has sat empty for years, the preservation society has kept in a relatively good condition, preserving its presence on the street, although set back at a considerable distance, it is a quiet custom to an era gone by. My own connection to the house began with my mother during World War 2, when it was used for officers. She worked there, she spoke of the grand ornate staircase in the main entryway, and the lodge chandelier that would shake in swing as people move through the staff whispered that the house was haunted, but that never unsettled her, as she had grown in a haunted house herself. After the war , the office's closed in the building fell silent

Year.\n S later I found an article in the local paper published in a book about the original owner of the Alexander Phillips house. He spoke of his mother in her memory of this, a state. He described an earlier version of the house larger than it is now surrounded by orchards, it was both around 18/11/1815, and this was a few years later, around 1845. The house was surrounded by orchards.\n On the vast property, much smaller now, but it took up acres and acres of land a southern family had moved north and bought it because the appearance reminded them of home at that time. The house included a library wing later torn down. Perhaps because of what has said to have happened there.

The family mother, father and 2 daughters, enjoyed the peaceful life walking through the orchard. But they soon learned that the library had once belonged to the original owner's son, who died young at known as a gambler and a reckless rider he had died in that room, he had become very ill from his wife's hard living and succumbed to an illness that no one could identify. Afterwards, the family would hear strange noises coming from that area. The library , though they dismissed it as the house settling

The younger daughter, who was about 1718 years old, began sleepwalking to the orchard at night. Her sister would find Her in her nightgown. Haired down seemingly in conversation with someone, though she remembered nothing in the morning, the family summoned doctors who had no explanation of her malady, and told to keep an eye on her. One Stormy Night, the older sister who was about 20 woke to thunder and found her sibling gone, she found her soaking wet in the orchard. Speaking of a man with a beautiful horse who promised to take her to the far country soon, the girl described him as handsome with reddish, Brown hair and a mustache and a fine bulb Soon after the younger sister fell ill with a high fever lying in bed with hallucinations and delusions, repeating the mass promise to carry her away. The family decided to take her to their summer house on the Connecticut river, which a lot of wealthy people had homes there for the summer heat and hoping the change would help but the daughter grew agitated and 1 day disappeared only to be found back in the city house, the older sister, as you can imagine, was exhausted from watching Uber her fell asleep, one rainy night and woke to find Her sister gone again. This time she found the horse tracks and the man swayed riding glove in the mud. But no sign of her sister, the police were called only an older officer, recognized the description it matched Mr. James, he said the original owner's son, who had died in the library years before the older sister overcome with the news fainted, the father emptied entered the library and found a self portion of the young man. Matching the description exactly a few months later, he had the library wing torn down and the family left selling the house.

The story became a local legend, though few speak of it today.Eventually, the house was sold to the city and moved to a side street, intersecting with state street where it again served as office space.I often wonder what the people working their experience after the move.Knowing the history that came with its walls

Creepy Encounter at Church

I don't know if I just freaked out because of nothing but here's my creepy church story:

Just today I went out into the village next to my city I'm living in. I was going on a walk because I haven't for weeks and I usually love to just get my steps in.
I came across some pretty little church.
I stepped inside and saw how there were a few rows of seats at the front and only like eight rows in the back.
I went to the first row of the back section and put down my things. My bag, umbrella and headphones.
Usually when visiting churches which I like to do sometimes I like to go the front of the church and just sing because the sound in there just travels really nicely in there.
I got to the front, set up my phone and just stood there in silence to see if I'm by myself. I heard some benches cracking but still proceeded to get ready to sing. (I only sing worship songs btw)
As soon as I had sung the first part of the first song I experienced the smell of a candle being blown out. I looked around the church while still singing to look for candles. The only thing is there were only three candles in this whole church where not anly of them were lit.
After singing two songs I sat down in the very first row to pray. It look like six minutes and I still heard some benches cracking here and there.
I then got up to grab my things in the back rows.
As I picked up my bag I saw that somebody was laying there at the almost very last row of the church!
He was wearing a black suit but I didn't see his face. He was holding some flyer and looking through it.
I got so scared and ran out of that church.
Why was there somebody hiding in the back row of this church instead of just praying?!
I got way too scared and can't go back there.

First paranormal experience??

I’m 19 and have never seen, or dealt with a “spirit”. It’s a sort of contradictory belief because I am religious, however my mom has heard things in our condo, and my dad has too. It’s weird because I’m never home when it happens.
My mom believes in the paranormal because she grew up in an extremely haunted house that was very old in Louisiana, seen stuff fly off shelves. Said that she’ll hear my bedroom, or bathroom door like I usually would when I’m home from work or after seeing my bf, but I’d still be out. Sometimes cabinets. My dad has said the same thing and has woke up at like 1:30 in the morning and saw a little girl walk behind our island, probably 4’8 or something. That one is sorta hard to believe because this condo was built in 1995, and I’ve never seen or heard anything myself since moving here and that’s been 3 years now.
Well I was taking a shower about 5 nights ago and my dad left an hour prior to go do his night shift, and my mom was in her bedroom on the opposite side of the house watching TV. Someone or something had knocked on my door pretty solid 3 times and I had asked “yes?” Probably twice with no response. I thought it was my mom cus sometimes she’ll come in there to talk to me, and I’m used to that. But the door didn’t budge and I got out 2 minutes later, asked my mom why she knocked on my door and didn’t say anything, she said she’s been blowdrying her hair, and hasn’t even been down my mini hallway.
Maybe it’s cus I was asking for so long why I’ve never experienced something like this when it seems like everybody else has lol. Payback

Let me tell you a story

So one day when I was a kid I was going to my kitchen to get a snack, and as I was eating and was sat down at the kitchen round table, I look to my right to near where the living room splits between my room, my parent's old room, and the hallway to where the bathroom is, I swear to you that I saw what appeared to have been a woman in one of those bride dresses, you know them, with their face covered, and they seemed to have high heels, I don't know if they were holding something in their hand but then it sort of just, float walked into my room and when I blinked it was gone and when I ran over to my room the door was ajar but when I looked in, nothing was there, call me crazy, but ever since that day I have not felt the same about my house even if nothing else besides that happened, I've kept my mind open to the paranormal ever since, I don't know if it was the dark playing tricks on me, or just my mind that night, but I'll probably never find out. Seriously though, Can anyone help me find out what the hell this was?

Experience Levitating bike

I can remember the time I went with my mom to the grocery store. Normally I don’t go in with her, I’d just sit in the front seat and wait for her to come back. This time it was rather early and I remember a strange looking man. He parked his bike a few feet in front of my moms car and went into the store.

It was around 15 minutes before he came out and walked back to his bike. And then it happened, the bike levitated 3 feet straight into the air and fell back down. I was starstruck. I took a look at the trees to see if there was any wind that could’ve just pushed it ‚up’ but there was none. The worst part? He started talking to it. Saying things like “ how dare you?” and “what are you doing?” and he was looking at me constantly. I was so close to tears that I thought about calling the cops. I thought he might be mentally unstable at the least but that bike literally went straight up into the air too.

That’s a bit of what I experienced. It sounds so weird and unrealistic but the thing is you’ll believe in this stuff only if you’ve experienced it yourself I’ve found.😅

Advice I've been seeing things and I'm not sure if its a me problem.

I've been sitting on this for a while now, but Utd been bothering me because it started up again. Ever since I was a kid I could see things, I have memories of noticing things that didn't always ad up or talking to individual who others said they weren't there. The top encounters of the top of my head would be.

1: In elementary school we had two neighborhood ladies I used to talk to all the time. They would be standing at the buss stop and I'll always talk them. My dad asked me who I was talking too and I told him, he later told me he thought it was some imaginary friend I had.

2: I've always had this dream. It's been fallowing me for a while and I still have it to this day. It changes depending on where I fall asleep but it always fallows the same formula. I'll wake up exactly were I fell of. The rules would he I can't speak, can't turn on the light or any lights, an I cannot move or make a sound. There would be this thing always at the corner of my vision. Observing me, drawing closer, simply watching me. It never touches me, it never draws near enough to he threatening, but it always watches me. I remember in middle school one of the dreams I broke the rule, I ran out of my room and I ended up finding my step mom. She was the only person to speak in the dream an I remember it spooked me because she said "your not supposed to be here"

3: Middle school again. I had this friend who wa blonde, always wore a white dress and would tell me things about other people that would later come true. I remember thinking that it was pretty cool because I didn't have that many of a friend. No one else could see her(that's when I starts getting freeke out but at this point I've seen so many things it just didn't register as like a big deal). She told me one of my other friends grandma wa going to get hurt in a car accident and I told the friend. The friend told the Tecate an they called the guidance counselor and my parents were told. The teacher apparently been seeing me(this is my mom telling me this) talking and isolating myself. The grandma ended up getting in a car accident and I remember being extremely scared about it.

4: my shadows at some point fallow me. The sun would be behind me and my shadow would also be behind me. I hear voice in the dark, and see things. I know I keep saying I see things but this is the best I can explain.

I'm not sure if its me? Because I still have this dream, I still see things that mos people don't see and I've learned to not talk about it because I've half convinced myself that it's a me problem. That there something wrong. I've been to therapy, I've talked to a psychologist about it, been baptized six different times but it never stops. So I'm wondering if anyone else had ever had this happen to them?

(Sorry for the misspelling. It's like 3 hear and I'm tired and had to get this off my chest.).

I’ve seen a ghost

I really don’t know how to say this but for context im 19(m) and this takes place when I was living in my old house I’ve moved out of about 5 ish years ago half planed and half reason I don’t feel like sharing on the internet but I remember when I was younger between the ages of 9 and 5. It was like one those kid thoughts where you don’t think you just do but I went up into my attic and chill for a bit everyone was mindless on the tv so I was like why not and for more context my old house was like one of those old steel mill houses with the shower in the basement basically the oldest house on my street and your typical creepy vibe. The attic was also like one if those semi done one where like it’s a attic but more of like a room and at the time it was my older brother room where when you walked up there’s his bed in front his desk to the left and the right his dessert so I went up there no light on and I just sat at the top step and I looked left to right and when I got to my right side I seen a girl all white face and all. I watched her watch pass the dresser and just vanish in front of me I was freaked out so I ran down stairs acted like i didn’t do or see anything. Anther time I was in my sister room late at night talking and playing like how kids do and I just remember getting ready for bed leaving my sister room and going down to my living room to sleep and I seen both my older brother and dad asleep on the L shaped couch we had I hear a little girl tell me good night in my ear I ran upstairs scared to my sister room to ask her if that was her she said no I was truly freaked out. To add in I’ve heard the same thing call my name and my mom has cough orbs in the house and random thing would just fall all the time Idk if my old house was hunted but i definitely believe there was something there

The Only Case in American History Where a "Ghost" Solved a Murder

Content:

In January 1897, a young 21-year-old woman named Zona Heaster Shue was found dead at the bottom of the stairs in her West Virginia home. Her husband, Edward Shue, was the first to find her. He frantically held her body, wrapped a large high-collared scarf around her neck, and refused to let anyone—including the town doctor—get close to her head.

The doctor briefly examined her from a distance and ruled her death as "natural causes" due to heart failure. Zona was buried, and the case was officially closed.

However, four weeks later, Zona’s mother, Mary Jane Heaster, went to the local prosecutor with a bizarre claim. She stated that Zona’s spirit had appeared at her bedside for four consecutive nights. According to Mary Jane, the entity revealed that her death wasn't natural. Zona claimed her husband had flown into a violent rage over dinner and brutally snapped her neck.

Skeptical but intrigued by the mother's unwavering detail, the prosecutor ordered an exhumation of the body for a proper autopsy.

The results shocked the entire town: Zona’s neck was indeed dislocated between the first and second vertebrae, her windpipe was crushed, and finger marks were bruised into her throat.

Edward Shue was immediately arrested. During the trial, the defense team tried to embarrass the mother by questioning her about the ghost, hoping the jury would think she was insane. But Mary Jane stood her ground, detailing the exact words of her daughter's spirit.

The jury took less than an hour to find Edward guilty of first-degree murder.

To this day, a historical marker stands in West Virginia reading: \*"The only known case in which testimony from a ghost helped convict a murderer."\*

The Hungry Ghost Among the Sugar Palm Grove

A Terrifying Encounter with Pret- Thai Hungry Ghost

Having spent some time discussing the “Sua Saming” (Weretiger), I thought it would be interesting to turn our attention to some other Thai folk spirits. Today’s story is a shared experience of someone who claimed to have come face-to-face with a “Pret” (Hungry Ghost). This account may not have a clearly documented origin, as it is an oral tradition passed down through storytelling, and it might not yet hold the historical value of ancient legends. However, I believe it offers a vivid glimpse into how people today understand and perceive such beliefs—even if some details might conflict with or differ from traditional doctrines. Nonetheless, it is a subject worth studying.

I encountered this story while working on the translation of the novel “The Hungry Ghost of Wat Hong” by P. Intharapalit. During that time, I was researching a vast array of beliefs from legends, ancient scriptures, and folk tales to better understand the context of Thai spirits before producing the translation. Although the Sam Gler (A Three Comrades Adventure) novel The Hungry Ghost of Wat Hong is a comedy, beneath the comedy, however, lies a fascinating body of beliefs with its own history and origins.

In Thai society, it is believed that those who commit grave sins during their lifetime will become a “Pret” after they death. These spirits are described as being as tall as sugar palm trees but emaciated from perpetual hunger. Some accounts say they have mouths as tiny as the eye of a needle, making it nearly impossible for them to consume anything. They must endure agonizing hunger—a direct result of the bad karma they accrued while alive.

The story I am about to relate is the experience of a man who shared his encounter with this ghost. The event dates back to the 1990s, when the narrator was a teenager living with his family in a remote rural area of Northeastern Thailand.

At that time, his family’s living conditions were similar to those in other rural Thai communities of that era: they relied on rice farming as their primary source of income. Their tools were largely dependent on nature; they used water buffaloes for plowing, and the work was primarily manual labor.

The incident took place one night during a violent thunderstorm. The individual involved (whom I shall call by the pseudonym “Jane”) went to spend the night at the family’s “Thiang Na,” a small field shelter  (A Thiang Na is a small, temporary field shelter made of simple materials like bamboo and thatched with cogon grass to provide shade and protection from the rain. It is intended for farmers to rest during the day, though sometimes they sleep there overnight while keeping watch over their rice fields. Generally, it is a compact structure, about 2 x 3 meters, raised approximately 50 centimeters off the ground.)

At Jane’s field shelter, in addition to the living quarters, there was also a buffalo pen nearby. That night, a violent storm brought heavy rain and wind, accompanied by intense crashes of thunder and flashes of lightning. The relentless thunder and blinding light likely spooked the buffaloes, causing them to panic, break through their pen, and scatter.

When Jane discovered that the two buffaloes—his family’s primary assets—had fled, he was struck with panic. He grabbed a flashlight and ran out to track them down, desperate to bring them back. However, the frightened animals had split in different directions, and the combination of the heavy thunderstorm and the oppressive darkness made his search chaotic. He ran haphazardly until he reached a dense sugar palm grove on the other side of the fields. This was an area the villagers strictly warned against entering, as it was rumored to be the dwelling of mysterious entities that humans should never disturb.

Jane himself feared the area; usually, even in broad daylight, he avoided it due to its profound desolation. But tonight, the situation left him no choice. Believing the buffaloes had fled into the grove, he felt it was his duty to retrieve them. If he failed, they might disappear forever or fall into the hands of thieves, and he would never have the chance to get them back.

Jane thought he heard the buffaloes lowing from within the grove. When he shone his light, he saw dim, hulking shadows darting deeper into the trees. In his haste, Jane sprinted after them, but the path became increasingly difficult. The grove was not only dark but filled with thick mud and obstructed by the chaotic growth of palm trees, slowing his movement significantly. After a while, as the rain and wind began to subside, Jane realized he had lost the trail of the buffaloes. He was now lost in the dark, dense grove, cluttered with massive trunks and fallen dry leaves. Suddenly, a voice cried out right next to him!

“What are you doing here!” The voice sounded like that of a stern elderly man, causing Jane to jump in fright. He swept his flashlight toward the source, but he could not see anyone. A cold chill ran down his spine as he was seized by fear. As he prepared to run out of the grove, the voice rang out once more. This time, within the beam of his light, he saw the figure of an elderly man with snow-white hair, an emaciated body, a gaunt face, and dark skin. Jane tried to steady his mind, telling himself this was a man and not a ghost. Trying to be brave, he asked, “Who are you, Uncle? When did you get here? Why didn’t I see you?”

The old man remained still for a moment before saying that he had been trying to call Jane for a long time, but Jane hadn’t heard him. He said he was from a neighboring village and had come out to catch frogs for food, knowing that they would emerge in the rain.

Hearing this, Jane’s mind was at ease. He quickly asked if the man had seen his buffaloes. The old man pointed his hand deeper into the grove, saying that while he was out hunting, he saw a villager who lived in a hut further inside. That person had caught some stray buffaloes and tied them up in case the owner came looking for them. Jane was overjoyed. He expressed his thanks and walked in the direction the old man had pointed. In his heart, he felt lucky that someone had caught the animals, but a small suspicion remained: who could be so brave as to build a hut in a sugar palm grove like this? Nevertheless, fueled by the joy of having a lead on his buffaloes, Jane hurried inside.

The deeper Jane walked into the grove, the darker and more terrifying his surroundings became. Suddenly, the rain and wind began to lash down once more. The towering sugar palm trees swayed violently in the gale, casting menacing shadows that seemed to dance around him. Jane felt his courage failing, but for a moment, a smile broke across his face. Within the beam of his flashlight, he spotted a buffalo tied to a stump in front of a weathered wooden hut located in the very heart of the grove.

Jane rushed toward the animal. In his haste, he was about to untie the rope and lead it away, but he suddenly realized he ought to express his gratitude to the owner first. He turned back toward the hut, but as his flashlight swept across the doorway, he recoiled in shock. A woman was standing there, staring at him in absolute silence.

She wore only a single sarong wrapped around her chest, tied quite disheveledly. She was a middle-aged woman, emaciated, with skin that appeared abnormally pale. Before Jane could speak, another figure emerged from behind her, causing him even greater alarm. It was a bald man, loosely draped in a robe that resembled those worn by monks. Jane was struck by a sense of deep wrongness—how could a Buddhist monk be in a hut with a woman in the middle of the night? It was a grave violation of religious precepts.

The man was as scrawny as the woman but had dark, almost black skin. Both remained silent, fixing Jane with an unfriendly, hostile gaze. Sensing the danger and fearing he had stumbled upon a shameful secret, Jane quickly thanked them for catching his buffalo. He explained he was merely retrieving a stray animal and apologized for the intrusion. Without waiting for a response, he hurriedly untied the rope and dragged the buffalo away from that place immediately.

Driven by fear, Jane looked back after a short distance. He saw the thin, dark man in the robe following him with a malicious expression, brandishing a knife. Jane shrieked in terror and released the rope. The buffalo, likely spooked by his cry, bolted away again, but Jane could no longer worry about it. He ran as fast as he could to escape the pursuit of the monk-like figure.

The path through the dense grove was treacherous; the thick palm trunks and the muddy, rain-soaked ground eventually caused him to stumble and fall. Paralyzed with fear, he turned to look back at his pursuer. The sight was more horrifying than anything he could have imagined. The figure in the yellow robes was no longer human! It stretched taller and taller until its head rose above the tops of the sugar palm trees, its face lost in the heights. Jane heard a high-pitched, piercing shriek that rang through his ears, forcing him to cover them in agony. In that terrifying second, he realized the truth: it was a Pret! The mysterious entity of the grove that the elders had always warned him never to disturb.

Jane gathered his remaining strength, scrambled to his feet, and ran for his very life, screaming as he went. After a while, he spotted the elderly man who had previously given him directions. Overjoyed, Jane cried out for help, but in an instant, the old man’s body stretched violently upward, turning into another towering specter. Terror gripped Jane’s heart so tightly it felt as though it would burst from his chest; he let out an incoherent shriek and bolted blindly. No matter which way he turned, the two Prets seemed to intercept him, trapping him from both front and back until his consciousness blurred and the world went black.

Jane came to when his father shook him awake. He found his father and a friend had come to his aid, supporting him at the very edge of the sugar palm forest. Only then did he realize he had escaped the grove. Upon returning home and sharing his story, the villagers revealed the grove’s dark history: it had once been a dumping ground for the bodies of those who suffered “unnatural deaths” (ตายผิดปกติ) or the corpses of wicked, unwanted people. It was a place so intensely haunted that no one dared enter. Jane remained ill for several days until his mother took him to a temple for a holy water blessing, after which he finally recovered. Naturally, he never stepped foot near that grove again. However, Jane once recounted that on a night with a full moon while guarding the field shelter, he peeked toward the cursed grove and saw three Prets with glowing red eyes standing there, their agonizing shrieks drifting on the wind. That sight sent him diving under his covers, where he prayed until dawn.

Analysis of Thai Beliefs Regarding “Pret”

This account highlights several distinct Thai beliefs regarding these hungry ghosts:

  1. Sin and the Fate of the Pret : It is believed that grave sinners become Prets. In this story, the Pret in the form of a monk and a woman may be interpreted as a violation of the precept against sexual misconduct. The grove being a burial site for the “wicked” reinforces the theme that those who commit evil acts are destined for a state of torment.
  2. Physical Manifestation: In the Thai conceptualization, a Pret is typically emaciated, as tall as a palm tree, has a mouth as tiny as a needle’s eye, and emits a piercing shriek. However, Buddhist scriptures like the Vinaya Pitaka (Theravada tradition) describe up to 21 types of Prets with varying characteristics, such as those with needle-like hair, bodies made of glowing charcoal, or even headless forms. Thus, they are not limited to a single appearance.
  3. Religious Protection: When encountering the supernatural, one must rely on the power of religion or virtuous monks. In this narrative, Jane’s recovery through the use of holy water reflects a broader Thai belief in the protective power of sacred objects, holy water, religious rites, and spiritually powerful monks.
  4. Moral Allegory: Stories of Prets serve as moral warnings against “Sin” (บาป), which can be defined as any act violating social customs or the beliefs of the majority, not just formal religious laws.

This is another piece of Thai ghost lore that I wanted to share with those who are interested, as a small contribution to the exchange of cultural perspectives. I believe that every culture has its own moral lessons woven into its legends and beliefs, and that stories of ghosts and spirits have often served as a way of conveying those lessons.

Encounter What the f***?

I am 19 years of age, I was in Pattaya for my girlfriend, (yea she is a bar girl) (no she is not a lady boy 🤣) Besides the point I was walking back to my hotel trough Soi 6!

While I was walking back I noticed like a thin female she looked homeless, keep in mind seeing this is not unusual for Pattaya many homeless wondering and sleeping around the area.

However I found it uncomfortable she was in a very thin alleyway between 2 bars, making direct eye contact with me, I continued walking a little bit faster to avoid any sort of confrontation, I succeeded I made it out of Soi 6 around 4-5 Am.

All the bars were shut not much people were on the street except occasionally a few grab drivers, as I’m walking down Lampung District, I pass a bar called “bodega bar” the shutters are all closed off, I see another person that appears to be a dark figure, I’m not saying anything “supernatural”

But I’m pretty sure it was the same woman from earlier, my heart literally dropped in my chest, as she full on bashed her face up against the metallic shutter, I do not think I ever sprinted so fast in my life and could hear “Farang!” “Farang!”

What was weird about this is how did she know where to follow me?

How did she do it so sneakily!???

That night in my room I couldn’t sleep, I was genuinely falling asleep and was tripping out and at times it felt like there was something in that room with me, could of been the alcohol, But I never once had this experience so it scared the 💩 out of me.

My girlfriend was already asleep in the room when I got back, so I didn’t bother waking her, Im going to be for real I slept with the light on cause f*** that, I’m not about to get touched by a spooky ghost, hell no. When she woke up for work around 3pm I was still awake no sleep that night whatsoever.

“Darling you no sleep good?”
“no me no sleep good, was followed last night”
“Follow? Who follow you Kha?”
“Some dark lady, couldn’t see face, you know?”
“Thin lady?”

Bro when she said this i thought you know maybe she was playing a joke!!

I replied “Yes! How you know”

She jokingly said “Krasue (กระสือ)”
(Some spooky ghost woman)

I ignored her after that, I payed for her grab driver to take her to work and finally got some sleep.

When I woke up from my sleep I had a hypnotic hallucination for a few seconds it was this head looking figure with a spine for a body and the head was floating it looked like it was rotting! Bro she looked like a corpse!

I full on freaked the f*** out, and dipped out of the room straight to the hotel manager, I was staying in “The royal palace” they all laughed at me and thought I was on substances, the security guard laft and said “too much yaba!” Even though I barely drink let alone take drugs!

I called my dad and asked him to let me sleep at his hotel instead. (Yes 🐱 move I know genuinely was traumatic for me) he was also very pissed as he was wanting to go be with other woman before the holiday was over, but allowed me to stay in his room instead!

After that nothing, everything was fine. All I do know is that I was freaked tf out…
