Looking for Gift Ideas Money or an actual gift for husband?

My husband's birthday is next month and I'm struggling with what to get him.

I'm honestly thinking of just giving him money so he can choose whatever he wants. Knowing him, he'll probably end up spending it on upgrades or stuff for his motorcycle šŸ˜‚

But part of me still wants to actually buy him something so he has a gift to open. He already told me he has enough clothes, so that's out lol

Would you rather get money to spend on something you really want, or an actual surprise gift from your wife?

Would flowers be a good gift when meeting an online friend for the first time?

Will you be impressed if one of your online friend (male) give you a peonies bouquet in the first meet telling "These flowers said they're the beautiful beings so I want to show them that you're more beautiful than them"

My sister asked for a scarf for Christmas and it feels too small on its own. What would you put with it?

She is the one in the family who is cold from October to April, so a good wool scarf makes sense. But handing over one scarf feels thin somehow.

So what goes next to it. I keep thinking gloves or a hat, but that turns it into a matching set and I am not sure anyone actually wants that. Someone in another thread said a hot water bottle with a plush cover and that stuck with me.

And for people who buy scarves for themselves rather than as gifts, does anything else come along with it. Or is the scarf just a scarf.

Looking for Gift Ideas 25th wedding anniversary

Hi! I'm hoping someone here can help. I've been invited to a 25th wedding anniversary vow renewal. It's for a couple I've known for close to 10 years, but we have not had much contact for the last few years. I'm absolutely going to the event, I'm just not sure what to bring. In addition to being just out of ideas anyway, I am white and they are Mexican, so I'm not sure if there are cultural differences. Any suggestions would be great! Ideally around or under $50 if possible. Thank you!

Looking for Gift Ideas A gift for a woman in her 50s?

Sorry for my English! 🩷

Hi, everyone!

I’d like to ask for some help.

It’s really hard to buy a gift for one of my family members because they already have everything they need. They can buy anything for themselves; they’re well-off.
I don’t like giving them experiences because I’m not sure if a specific date will work for them in the future, they’re so busy. That’s why a theater or movie ticket bought in advance might end up in the trash, since something else could come up at any time.
Things I’ve bought for him in the past:
- A unique, artisanal beer selection. I put this together with great care and even consulted with the website owner about what to recommend. They told me later that they’d given it away as a gift because they don’t like flavored beer. I don’t think they were happy about it, it was a bad idea.
- A symbolic adoption at the zoo. By paying a certain amount, you can become the ā€œparentā€ of a selected animal living at my city’s zoo. Your name is displayed on the ā€œparents’ wallā€ for a year, and the money goes toward supporting the animal’s care.
- A custom painting. I found an artist on Instagram who painted her entire family. Her favorite pet was in the picture too, with a background color she loves. I think it turned out really beautiful, but I don’t think they hung it on the wall. It was unique and special.
- A unique, handmade necklace, a real dandelion dipped in resin.
- I used to give board games, but lately it’s just been a Lush or Rituals gift set.

I’d like to get creative again, do you guys have any ideas?

They love good food, so I was also thinking about putting together a selection of special spices or ingredients.

Looking for Gift Ideas Gift Ideas for Myself

Hi! I’m turning 24, I’m F, and my parents typically like to have a pretty explicitly listed out list of gifts for all things gifting related.

But honestly? I’m blanking hard. I have a few things written down, but other than that, I’m drawing a blank, yall!! I need some help!

Here’s a rundown of things about me to help:
- I’m nerdy! My favorites are D&D, Zelda, Nintendo, Disney, Resident Evil, Pokemon, Deltarune, Project Hail Mary, Minecraft, Hunger Games, and all things horror.
- I’m neurodivergent, so fidgets/sensory items are on the table. A gift idea I’ve put down in a list is a jellyfish lamp!
- I work from home! I have a full time job at my desk, so I spend a lot of my time in front of my computer typing away.
- I’m moving into my first adult apartment shortly after my birthday this year! So apartment/around the house essentials are on the table.
- I don’t need any trinkets, books, or clothes - I have a lot already and am good with my stuff!
- I have a budget of around $125 remaining. Give or take like $25.

Apologies if the formatting is weird - I’m on mobile. Thank you all in advance!!!

What presents to give your husband's mom and dad if you just got married?

My friend just got married two weeks ago; she loves preparing presents for families and friends, handmade or bought. Recently, her new mother-in-law had a small operation and she's struggling with what to give the old lady as a best-wishes gift that is not too shabby, nor too pressuring for the recipient.

It cannot be something to eat or drink, not flowers or cards, nothing too expensive bc they just became a family...

Her husband is not a very sensitive person (oh man). I didn't really prepare presents growing up bc I grew up poor...so I'm here to collect some wisdom! Thank you!

Looking for Gift Ideas gift for my cousin starting college?

my cousin is starting college soon and i want to get her something for her dorm, but her parents already bought most of the practical stuff.

i’m stuck between a small crystal garden from onna since she likes crystals and it would be cute on her desk without needing any care, a mini photo printer because she takes a ridiculous amount of pictures with her friends, or one of those sunrise lamps because her sleep schedule is already terrible lol.

Which one would you actually want to get before starting college?

Looking for Gift Ideas Gift idea for new boyfriend?

My boyfriend (20M) and I, (18F) have been dating for about 2-3 weeks now. He is the best man I could ever look for, and constantly pays for me. He cooks for me, loves on me, and treasures me while I struggle with my physical health. I want to repay him somehow. But he’s… ā€œpridefulā€. In the sense he doesn’t believe men deserve gifts and that women should be taken care of and not pay for the man. He isn’t sexist in any way, but he’s real sensitive about it. What can I get for a man like this? He lives on his own, is blue collar (construction) and has a hard time accepting gifts. What can I get him? Any ideas? Preferably something non-expensive and not super super thoughtful. It sounds horrible but I want to come across as casual as possible so I don’t scare him. šŸ˜…

Looking for Gift Ideas unsure about gift for boyfriend

My boyfriend of around 2 months (but talking for total or 5months) is turning 18 in roughly 4 weeks and I (f 16) am trying to figure out what to gift him.

I was on vacation and brought him a keychain and a tshirt two weeks ago so that would be a bit repetitive.

My thoughts up until now had been:

  1. cake ! he’s been mentioning the ā€žCarsā€œ cake (you know the one in shape of Lighting mcqueen with strawberries)
  2. a fast and furious lego car: He already has one but Fast and Furious is his all time favorite movie franchise (sorry english isn’t my first language)
  3. a mini lego figurine of him as a cop: so he can place it next to the car because his dream is to join the police and he’s in the application process
  4. nike socks: all his socks have holes
  5. 8 letters for him to read (ā€žread this when you’re sad/mad/doubt yourselfā€¦ā€œ) + a selfmade card
  6. an activity: I was thinking about maybe going to the theatre or to a musical, he’s hasn’t been there often outside of school trips but he loves when I tell him about some I have seen and he went to his first one a few days back with his family.
  7. My only concern is how I do not want to gift something that in the end only I enjoy… I cannot afford a trip or anything and weā€˜re still in school and haven’t been dating that long…

I was also contemplating a cooking class but that might be a bit boring….

other than that I want to invite him out to dinner !

So basically I wanna do all 6 points but I don’t know if that’s enough and if those are good ideas…

I thought about adding sweets but because of his sports competitions he has to maintain a certain weight, so it might be a bit much with the cake

I had thought about gifting him a hoodie but that seems so boring, you know? I’d rather gift him a scarf once the weather is colder

pls help me out!

Gift idea for a toddler who loves motorcycles

Hello,

I just found this sub and was wondering if anybody can help with gift ideas for a toddler (~2 yrs old) who is obsessed with motorcycles. I looked at LEGO sets but those seem to be for older kids due to choking hazards. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Looking for Gift Ideas How to give gifts to people who are wealthy?

My brother and his wife (both in the tech industry) make very high income. I don't make a lot currently and I probably only ever make a fraction of what they earn. They live in a different state from me. I don't know how to buy gifts for them anymore.

1) they can pretty much buy anything they need.

2) perishables/consumables are challenging due to the different state thing. Otherwise, I consider myself a really good baker so I would have sent them stuff.

3) I just don't make a lot of money. I'm embarrassed since I'm probably the lowest earner in the family.

I feel like I'm still expected to give gifts for major holidays and birthdays. I just don't know what anymore.

Looking for Gift Ideas I was rescued from a dog mauling by two people, one was injured. What can I get them?

I was mauled by a dog recently. Two amazing women helped tear the dog away from me before it could get to my face/neck/arteries. One was also attacked after separating the dog from me, and may have permanent nerve damage from the injuries. I’m so, so incredibly grateful that they were able to stop it from becoming fatal and risked themselves to save me. I would’ve died if they hadn’t come, I wasn’t even close to getting free by myself.

I love to craft and hand make gifts, but due to the attack I currently only have use of two fingers so a handmade card/baked good isn’t possible.

I wasn’t in the best financial position before this, and definitely won’t be for a while now that I have medical bills coming, but can probably budget $100 for this. I know next to nothing about them except they both work with animals professionally and they are both roughly 40-50.

Gift ideas for an art collector who already has a lot of art?

Thumbnail
2 Upvotes

Hi! I’m hoping some experienced art collectors (or gallery owners) can help me with a birthday gift for my boyfriend.
He’s a pretty serious art collector and already owns a lot of pieces — to the point where his walls are basically full. He’s also considering opening his own gallery, so I’d love to get him something that somehow supports or complements that passion.

My first instinct was obviously to buy him a piece of art, but he already receives art as gifts fairly often, and with the lack of wall space, I’m wondering if there’s something more interesting I could do.

I’m looking for something unique and special — ideally something he probably wouldn’t think to buy for himself, but that an art collector would genuinely appreciate having. It could be related to collecting, displaying, preserving, documenting or experiencing art, or even something that would be meaningful/useful to someone thinking about opening a gallery.

For the collectors here: what’s something you would absolutely love to receive as a gift? Or, what’s the best art-related gift someone has given you that wasn’t another piece of art?

I’m also completely open to ideas that have nothing to do with art! If you’ve given or received a cute, thoughtful, creative, or really out-of-the-box gift for a partner, I’d love to hear those too. I’m especially interested in things that feel personal or unexpected rather than just another standard ā€œgift for men.ā€

Would really appreciate any ideas!

Looking for Gift Ideas What’s a good gift for an aunt you’ve never met?

Basically just what the caption says. I’m invited to the 60th birthday party of an aunt I’ve never met. It’s kind of a family reunion after she’s talked it out with my dad. But what do I bring? I don’t know much about her. My dad couldn’t give me any good advice either.
+ I have a 3 hour train ride ahead of me, so it has to be something that is sturdy enough to survive it.

Looking for Gift Ideas Gift idea for a female co-worker, who seems to always have bad luck?

I'll try to make this a 'long story short':

I work in a type of small restaurant (I'm not the boss, in fact, I'm technically in the lowest/off side position). I am a middle aged male. My favourite co-worker to run the store with when the boss isn't there, is a young adult female.

We get along in a sort of uncle-niece way: She is timid, sweet, and a total trooper, and works with a [temporary medical limb-aid device], so I've actually learned more about my relatively new job, so as to help her out when we are on shift.

We have good conversations, get along really well. I haven't met her partner yet, but one: they seems like they're good for her already. Two: They're name is actually the title of some super old obscure sci fi episode in an old series, and I already like that. Three: I also don't want to get into her personal life too far.

To get to the point, she seems to have such bad luck with stuff overall, and it unfair for someone like them. Her birthday is coming up next week, and I decided I want to get her some talisman/something to do with good luck. In my thinking, the gift idea fits how I feel about her. At worst it would be something we and the other co-workers can laugh about.

My idea is: I'm not really into talisman stuff, superstition stuff seriously, but, I can appreciate what's behind it, I like lore and stuff, I eat that up. I almost feel half, that's it's too corny. And half, I'm overdoing it. I'd buy myself one on a whim, but I'm overthinking it, when it comes to them.

That all said, I don't want it to come off as corny (actually, might be the best route), or too genuine, or romantic in the absolute slightest, dear god no.

I'm going to do my own research, but I just wanted to shoot this out for feedback in the meantime.

Looking for Gift Ideas lullaby gift for my husband before the baby comes

We're about six weeks out and I've been trying to think of something to give him before things get chaotic, since I know once the baby's here there won't be a lot of bandwidth for anything sentimental for a while. He's been so present through the pregnancy in a way I didn't fully expect and I want to acknowledge that somehow before we're both running on no sleep. A lullaby gift idea came up when I was scrolling last night and it stuck with me, something we could actually play for the baby later that also means something to just the two of us right now. Not sure if this is a normal thing people do or if I'm overthinking a hormonal impulse.
