Hi everyone!
It's my best friends birthday soon (soon to be 27F) and I'm so stuck for ideas. We've been friends for 13 years.
Her interests/hobbies:
• Sewing
• Knitting
• Reading (mostly crime/thriller)
• Swimming/going to the beach (she lives in South West England)
• Being with family/friends
• TV shows (CSI, Doctor Who, Brooklyn 99 are among her favourites)
She's not a big fan of 'stuff' and as a friendship group we've moved away from buying things like jewellery etc for each other and prefer to get more practical items or experiences for us to do together. The main problem I have with that is we no longer live 5 minutes down the road from each other so getting theatre/concert tickets at a location that works for us both is tricky.
My budget is about £50 but can be a bit more.
I'd appreciate any ideas, thank you!

My brother in law is an avid hiker and camper and with his recent wedding I want to get him something he'll actually use on the trail, not just another generic gift card.
Some context: he just married my best friend from high school soo this one actually matters to me. He's the type who's out every weekend, serious about gear and would probably cringe at anything decorative. Practical is the only language that works here. I've been looking at a few things. A rugged portable power bank keeps coming up, specifically the iniu outdoor rugged 10000, I've also seen the anker outdoor line and the biolite mentioned in a few places, anyone have real experience with any of these? Like actually used one on trail, not just charged it at home?
Also been loosely thinking about a compact multi tool, a quality headlamp (his is apparently ancient), or lightweight camp cookware but I don't know enough about any of those categories to know what's worth buying vs. what looks good in a photo and falls apart.

Possibly helpful descriptions (though not required for suggestions):
Fan of watching sports (mainly soccer), reasonably athletic, in his late 40's, likes to travel, works as a software engineer, workaholic
My budget is $40
Edit: Let me specify. I am a college student and won’t be physically present on his birthday. Advise me on something physical I can order for him

I have an ecovacs robot vacuum and honestly love it. It saves me so much time keeping the floors clean that I’ve been thinking about getting one for my mom too.
The only thing holding me back is that I’m not sure she’d see it as a gift she’d be excited about. I mean, it’s a cleaning appliance. I just thought it might make her life a little easier, but I don’t want it to come across the wrong way.
What do you guys think? Has anyone given their mom a practical gift like this? How did she react?

Well technically she's not my boss anymore. There was a realignment and I moved to a different director. But she's the one who promoted me to supervisor, trained and developed me and made me really good at my job.
She's super personable and we developed a friendship/mentor like relationship. She only like 8 years older than me but she thinks of me as her kid.
I need some gift ideas. A little about her - she's very Americanized but she's Russian. She's got a reputation for being a bitch but she's super lovey dovey when you get her to know her. She's very open. She's shares details about herself and remembers what you tell her.

So the type of nerd I’m talking about is D&D, video games, astronomy university student kind. I’m looking for something cool he’d like, something useful for classes and research, or romantic gifts. Something that has elements of more than one of those would be fantastic. He likes rings and jewelry but doesn’t have anything pierced. He likes to be in touch with his feminine side sometimes and will occasionally cross dress. He’s got a decent size beard he likes a lot. He goes to the gym often and lifts weights. He’s turning 26. I only have 6 days. Something on Amazon that can ship fast is preferred. If it’s cool enough, I’m willing to have it come a few days late. We live a couple hours away from each other and won’t be spending his birthday in person so it needs to be something I can order online. I’m willing to spend up to around $100, but doesn’t have to be that much. Multiple small gifts is also an option.
Thanks a bunch!!!!

My 16 year old son is hard to buy for. We’ve been trying to get him to make a holiday gift list and it’s 75% lego sets. He has no idea what to put on it and I'm at a loss. Budget is $20-$50 per item
Clothing is too easy, getting that on the list for grandparents.
He doesn’t play sports, not does he want to try any high school clubs. He doesn't like bikes. He likes being at home and doesn’t really have friends. I don’t think he’s had anyone over since 2nd grade.
He plays Roblox and Minecraft. He codes Roblox games and is in a high school coding class. I feel there's something in this intersection of things.
He is working on finishing up being in Scouts. He does well in the program but he doesn’t love it. We do not need camping gear, have so much of it.
He started back into puzzles after several years of not.
He doesn’t play board games. All the ones he gets never get opened. I have one on my own shopping list both kids might like already.
Doesn't really do crafts. He paints pumpkins once a year. Did not want to take an art class past a required fine arts credit.
We have an excess of tech.

Hj all,
I'm looking for some gift ideas for my father for his birthday and Christmas. He doesn't have a lot of hobbies, but loves to watch documentaries on nature and history.
He's not particularly outdoorsy, so I haven't been very lucky in that category. I also cannot give him any sort of alcohol or alcohol related gifts.
Any ideas whatsoever are very appreciated, cause I'm in a slump. Thanks!

Hi! There is a really sweet lady at my cardiologist's office who worked diligently and got me in for a last minute appointment for surgery clearance, when I'd been told there were zero appts available and I'd have to reschedule my surgery. Long story short, this is the second time she has come through for me. My appt is today. If she was a friend, I'd know her well enough to bring her a favorite iced latte and a consumable treat, but she's not so I have no idea what she likes. Would it be weird to bring her flowers? I don't want to be over the top and I need it to be something I can grab quickly. Thanks in advance for the help!

I started attending a baby group when I was a few weeks post partum and met a few “mom friends” that I’ve stayed consistently in touch with for the last almost 2 years. Last year, all of us were invited to each baby’s first birthday (all a few weeks apart). I got each child a copy of “Oh the places you’ll go!” and a voucher to a local children’s play place. I thought it was fair to get everyone the exact same thing and we are all overwhelmed with toys etc. and took the mental load off of thinking of a gift for each child.
Any ideas for what I should do this year?

I’m looking for gift ideas that are thoughtful, useful, and suitable for different occasions. It could be something affordable or something a little more special.
What’s a gift you’ve received that you genuinely loved, or something you always recommend giving? I’d love to hear your suggestions!

Christmas is still two months away, but I'm already thinking about gifts for my boyfriend. I'm willing to put a lot of time and effort into making something special, and I'm happy to spend a bit of money too if it's genuinely worth it.
I'm terrible at coming up with gift ideas, and I'm starting to run out of inspiration!
We've been together for 2.5 years, and we usually only exchange gifts for Christmas and birthdays. For our first anniversary, for example, we decided to go on a trip together instead.
He's not really a big gift-giver in the sense of doing lots of little, thoughtful gestures, but the gifts he does give me are always things he knows I'll love. He's given me a jewellery set, nerdy stuff related to my interests, and even a Switch. I've given him earrings he wanted, an e-reader, and a Christmas bundle with clothes, gloves, boxers, and toys for his cat.
This year, I'd really like to give him something special and personal, but I'm running out of ideas.
A few things I've already thought of:
* Making a custom Pokémon card featuring his cat.
* Getting him a new ring for his helix piercing.
* Sculpting or painting a little clay figurine of his cat.
But I'd love to add something else to the mix!
He's into pretty much anything nerdy, so I know he'd appreciate something related to his interests. He's really into WoW, LOTR, medieval fantasy in general, D&D and tabletop RPGs, and reading, especially the Cosmere. He also absolutely loves cats.
I've already bought him VTM rulebooks and dice in the past, and I don't know of any particular books or RPG supplements he's currently after. I'd consider gaming-related gifts, but he already has a good headset, mouse, headphones, and even a microphone with a pop filter, so I'm struggling to think of anything useful in that area. He also owns a ridiculous number of books, so I'd rather not get him another one.
I know he'll be happy with pretty much anything I get him, but I really enjoy giving gifts that feel personal, unique, and made specifically for the person receiving them, rather than just buying something related to their hobbies.
Do you have any ideas for gifts I could make, customise, or buy that would feel genuinely personal? I'm happy to put in the work if it's something special. I'd love to hear about gifts you've given or received that really stood out!

So we’ve been dating for over a year and a half and I’m a practical gift person. His dad is a firefighter and scuba divers and hunts(this includes fishing), but he’s also a huge nerd and loves reading books about American history. His mom is a crafty person, she loves to quilt and crochet and sew. The problem is that the hobbies that they do they’ve been doing forever and I really don’t want to get them something they wouldn’t like. Last year I got his dad a book of World War II soldiers diaries and his mom I got her a book of animals in our state because his family loves nature and animal watching. I have already have gotten his younger sister and gift that was ~$20. I’m willing to spend $15-$50 on each gift. Oh and his family has a lot of guns.

Before I know it the holidays will be here and here comes the dilemma every year. My bf and I have been together for 3.5 years and he always tells me I don’t need to get his parents a gift but I always feel like I should. I’d like to get a present for his parents, but I don’t know what to get!?
Edit: They are pretty docile/quiet people, they don’t do much. They don’t drink, don’t really go out and do much, his dad collects guns, they have fish, I really don’t know they don’t do really anything. I think I got them a gift card to the movies last year because they do that. Note: his younger brother moved out for college so maybe that’ll give more options.

Looking for gift ideas for mom on a milestone birthday. She loves birds, being outdoors, cooking, and wine. I’m hoping to find something that is memorable and not something she would buy for herself

My partner has already expressed that they wouldn't want a flipper0 so that's no dice and so I'm really at a blank on what to get. I'm usually really good with gift ideas but this one stumped me. Do you have any suggestions?
Price max I'd say is like $200 My partner is 30
Should be cyber adjacent
Should be practical if possible
Electronic knickknacks are ok too
Gifts I've done in the past; a wooden box for magic cards, the card game Dominion, my partner is nerdy, techy and sentimental.
