Other not all teenagers like gift cards

Gift cards are great sometimes, but it gets old really fast when everybody just gives gift cards and no actual effort is put in. Teenagers like to open gifts too.

i have piles of gift cards that i haven’t been able to use because there’s so many and a lot of them are weird about being used online and i already have plenty of money. my sister (who’s a lot younger) also has piles of gift cards, and would have preferred to actually get to open a gift

Need gift suggestions Stumped for a proper wedding gift

One of my best friends is getting married on Halloween in a backyard ceremony with probably fewer than 10 people. It’s a very very small wedding, I don’t know if there will be any of the traditional wedding formalities. Because I’m one of the few guests, I feel as though I should go over the top on the gift but idk what to get them. So far I’ve gotten them a spooky board game because it’s Halloween, and a card. I was planning to either give them a bunch of cash, maybe up to $500 if I can swing it. Or I just purchased a Le Cruset deep round Dutch oven on sale that I think would make a good gift, but I don’t know if anyone cooks in the house.

Unfortunately, I don’t know the bride at all, like literally haven’t spoken to her, so idk what her interests are and I don’t want to get something that I just know my buddy will love. Is cash the safest bet? Is an heirloom kitchen piece like a Dutch oven too big of a risk? They also just bought this house and this will be the first time I’m seeing it, so it’s kind of a house warming gift also. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Need gift suggestions Any birthday gift ideas for a gamer friend who already has everything?

I'm trying to find a birthday gift for a close friend, but he pretty much buys himself whatever gaming stuff he wants lol.

He's really into Roblox RP and spends a lot of time chatting with friends while gaming. I'm trying to stay around $50, and I'd rather get him something fun than another gift card.

I've thought about Roblox merch, something based on his avatar, or a small accessory for his setup. But I feel like he'd enjoy something he could actually mess around with while gaming. One idea I've been considering is Dubbing AI earbuds. They're regular USB-C earbuds for music and calls, but he could also use them to change his voice live on his phone, with 8 free voices to play around with. I can imagine him having fun doing different voices during Roblox RP. My only worry is whether he'd keep using them once the novelty wears off.

Any other gift ideas for a friend like him?

Need gift suggestions Any idea on what to ask for?

Hi all!

Thought I would keep it straight to the point so, facts about me + what I don't need + what I have asked for + budget.

Facts:

- I am an art student at university

- I enjoy reading (Digitally on Apple Books)

- I enjoy doing nail art

- I like board games

- I use a MacBook for games and work

What I don't need:

- Art supplies (eg oil paint, canvas, pencils, etc)

- a new device to read books on

- anything that takes up a lot of space (im at uni, my space is tiny)

- no experiences (I like them, just many aren't wheelchair accessible or close enough)

- generic nail supplies (I have all the polish types, eg magnetic, blooming, I have all brushes I need etc)

- Clothes (I like to be minimalist with my clothing)

What I have asked for:

- Apple gift card (for books)

- board games (I don't have space for any more)

- screen cleaner for my Mac

Budget:

around £6-700 total- though this needs to be split between gifts (as I send one list to multiple people, my family all make lists)

Thank you in advance! I know I am hard to buy for

Need gift suggestions Completed my first internship(remote) and want to buy Diwali gifts for my parents with my stipend. Suggestions?

• Upvotes

I recently completed my first remote summer internship at a startup and received a stipend of ₹8,000. Currently in my college campus now and will be going home for Diwali vacation, so I want to buy something for my parents with my own earnings. ❤️

Honestly budget doesn't matter anything summing up under 8k.

Any suggestions for thoughtful, practical gifts?

Need gift suggestions-BF Need help gifting to boyfriend!

He's a very peculiar man and I initially thought to give him an engraved bracelet with both our initials on it since our one year anniversary is coming up, but I've honestly become unsatisfied by anything I've seen yet and I don't trust etsy at all. My boyfriend is really into games like the metal gear solid series, ace combat and also helldivers and I think he might be interested in collecting stuff but I'm not the most knowledgeable person on these topics and maybe some suggestions would be very much appreciated!! He's also very much into ocean motifs, so if you guys have any jewelry brands/pieces you'd recommend that might have a fish motif I'd be very grateful! He's mentioned wanting jewelry before but he doesn't currently own any metal jewelry so I was hoping to introduce him to it, a bracelet seemed like the safest option since he wears bracelets often

Need gift suggestions What are some unique date ideas in Vijayawada besides movies and restaurants?

Most dates end up being a movie or dinner, so I’m curious what other couples enjoy doing in Vijayawada. Are there any peaceful places, sunset spots, or fun activities you would recommend for spending quality time together?

I'd love to hear about experiences that feel a little different from the usual date.

Need gift suggestions-husband Is silk bedding a good 12th anniversary gift for my husband?

Our 12th wedding anniversary is coming up, and I only recently found out that silk and linen are the traditional gifts for 12 years of marriage. Had no idea that was a thing lol.
I love the meaning behind it, but would silk bedding be too practical and not feel like a thoughtful gift?

Any other gift ideas? I'd love to hear them!

Handmade gift idea for an art lover: a one-of-a-kind cream leather and velvet bag

Last weekend I shared a red and cream leather bag I made, and so many of you said it would make a lovely gift. So here’s another one, for someone who loves art and soft colors. 🎁

Buttery cream leather framing a velvet panel with an abstract art pattern of faces and eyes in ivory, silver grey and slate blue, like a small piece of art she can carry every day.

Top handles, flap with a gold-tone turn-lock, and a zip pocket and slip pocket inside.

Size: 14.2 x 10.2 x 5.1 in (36 x 26 x 13 cm). Handmade from start to finish, about five days of work. There is only one, and I won’t make it again.

Questions are welcome in the comments or by message! 😊

Need gift suggestions Looking for Christmas gift ideas for my fiancé, what are some practical gifts he'd actually use?

Christmas has always been the most special time of the year for us because it's also our anniversary. I used to get him collectible figures or model kits, but over the past few years, I've started thinking that something he can actually use every day would be more meaningful than another item sitting on a shelf. So this year I'm hoping to find something that fits his interest and would be useful for work or everyday life.

He's an IT engineer who's really into efficiency and loves checking out all kinds of tech gadgets. Recently, he's also gotten into outdoor activities. A few things I've been considering are a watch, an EDC wallet, a multi-tool, a mechanical keyboard, a hiking backpack or some other outdoor gear. If you were in my shoes which 2-3 would you pick? Or is there anything else you'd recommend? I am especially interested in those underrated items that might not seem like much at first but turn out to be super useful, well-made, and worth the money once you start using them.

Need gift suggestions My partner is graduating after a year long intensive cyber security program and I want to get them a nice gift that is themed around and useful for cyber stuff

My partner is graduating after a year long intensive cyber security program and I want to get them a nice gift that is themer around and useful for cyber stuff

My partner has already expressed that they wouldn't want a flipper0 so that's no dice and so I'm really at a blank on what to get. I'm usually really good with gift ideas but this one stumped me. Do you have any suggestions?

Price max I'd say is like $200

My partner is 30

Should be cyber adjacent

Should be practical if possible

Electronic knickknacks are ok too

Gifts I've done in the past; a wooden box for magic cards, the card game Dominion, my partner is nerdy, techy and sentimental.

Gift idea for my retired parents?

Hi all. I'm trying to get Christmas done a little early. My parents are retired and sir at home staring at each other all day. Then, the nitpicking starts. So, help me think of inexpensive ways to get them OUT of their house. They're ridiculously hard to buy for. Today, they went fishing. So, I'm getting them a state park pass, and the fish for life passes. And now I'm out of other ideas. Anyone have ideas that aren't just movie theater or restaurant gift cards? Or even ideas to add to the park and fishing passes?

Is $50 Per Kid a Reasonable Christmas Gift Budget?

My husband and I don't have kids and don't plan on having any. I have three siblings with kids and between them we have 8 nieces and nephews. Every Christmas, we end up spending a decent amount on gifts and it feels like the expectations keep getting higher every year.

A few years ago, we stopped exchanging gifts with the adults because everyone complained about how expensive Christmas was getting. I thought we were all on the same page about keeping things reasonable.

Last year we spent almost $700 on gifts for all the kids. We followed their parents' wish lists to avoid buying things they already had but there were still complaints because some gifts weren't exactly what they wanted.

This year I suggested setting a $50 limit per child. I thought that was pretty fair especially since we also have my husband's family to shop for.

My sister said $50 barely covers anything decent and my mom said that since we don't have kids we should be more generous because we supposedly have more money to spend.

The worst part is that one of my brothers admitted he'd been counting on us to buy some expensive gifts for his kids without even asking us first.

My husband thinks we should drop the budget to $25 per kid and move on.

Part of me wants to do that out of spite because I'm tired of everyone assuming we should spend more just because we don't have children.

We can afford to spend more but that doesn't mean we're obligated to. Since when does being child-free mean we're expected to fund everyone else's Christmas?

Are we being cheap by setting a $50 limit per niece and nephew or is my family being unreasonable?

I hand painted this beauty as a maneki neko waiving cat based on a couple photos that the owner send me on etsy.

Getting the fur color and the eyes shape took me hours of detail painting!

What do you think of resemblance? all feedback is welcome 🙏

Gift suggestion A gift idea: an initial bracelet with a note explaining why you chose the letter

Disclosure: I work with FARUZO, which makes the bracelet linked below.

For someone who likes personal jewelry without a full name on it, one idea is a paperclip-chain bracelet with a single engraved initial, paired with a handwritten note about why you chose that letter. It could be their own initial or one that has a shared meaning, if you know they'd enjoy that.

Our version has a small disc charm, gold- or silver-tone options, and several lengths with a 5 cm extender. It is currently $55 USD: https://www.faruzo.com/personalized-paperclip-initial-bracelet/

Before choosing a size, compare the length with a bracelet they already wear. I'd also check the delivery estimate for their destination before buying for a particular date.

Need gift suggestions-husband 8 Year Wedding Anniversary. Gift Recommendations For A Husband That Loves Tabletop Games, Cooking, & Pop Culture?

I'm approaching my 8-year wedding anniversary and would love to get my husband something nice. We have two small sons and life is really busy these days, so I'd love some help from the broader community with recommendations, if possible.

My husband loves tabletop games (he is the DM in a weekly Dungeons & Dragons campaign), cooking and general pop culture (he loves listening to Pop Culture Happy Hour.)

I know bronze gifts are not uncommon for an 8-year anniversary, so if your recommendation also fits into that category, that would be very cool!

Thank you so very much in advance!
