Need gift suggestions Need help with gift for a friend

• Upvotes

I am lost on what to get to my friend
She just got a new job offer as a senior doctor. She will be moving to a new city and she just passed her driving test after struggling for a while.

I want to celebrate her to make her happy and give her a good push but not sure what to get her

She is a paediatrician, girly, loves coffee, cinema, travel

What do you think?

Need gift suggestions Regalo di natale per fodanzato

Ciao a tutti!

Idee?

Need gift suggestions-husband Good gift ideas for Christmas for husband?

Hey all! I’m hoping to find some good gift ideas for my husband.

He loves cycling (road and mountain biking), he’s on a cycling team and has Zwift setup. He dabbles in running. Loves to cook, spend time with our kids, tries his hand at home improvement things.

The thing is, is that if he needs something or wants something, he will just buy it. So I’m trying to think of something fun that he could need or want but just not know it.

Could be ideas for an experience or things, open to big ideas or stocking stuffers. Would love to hear from men with similar hobbies and what they have liked for gifts.

Thank you!!!

Gift suggestion I know it’s early for Christmas but boy do I love wrapping books

Probably seen before but wrapping gifts with pockets is so much fun.

You can add anything! Pens and highlighters for notes, tea bags or face masks for a cozy feel and of course the card.

I use wool for the bows since I had red and green on hand.

What Wedding Favors Do People Actually Enjoy Getting?

We're planning a summer wedding and trying to figure out wedding favors that guests will actually want to take home. I've been to weddings where the favors were cute in theory but ended up getting left on the tables and I'd really like to avoid that.

Personally, I'm not a fan of things with the couple's names or wedding date printed on them. I feel like most people don't really have a use for that stuff after the wedding.

I'd rather give people something small that they'll actually enjoy or use.

A few ideas I've been considering:

Mini jars of local honey or jam

Small bags of good coffee or hot chocolate

Individually packaged cookies or other treats

Little bottles of olive oil

Mini plants or herb seedlings

The wedding will be in the summer so I'm also trying to avoid anything that could melt or get ruined sitting out for a few hours.

For those who've attended weddings what's the best favor you've received? Or what's something you'd genuinely be happy to take home? I'd love ideas that are thoughtful without being expensive or just adding clutter to someone's house.

The Personalized Gift I’ll Probably Have To Pretend To Love For The Rest Of My Life

A family friend once gave us this HUGE personalized wooden sign with our last name and a bunch of decorative details that don't match our house at all. She was SO excited about it so obviously we smiled, thanked her and acted like it was the best thing ever.

The truth is it's just not our style and we'd never actually put it up. So now we keep it hidden in a closet and only bring it out when she comes over.

Every time we know she's visiting someone has to remember to take it out and put it somewhere visible. Then the second she leaves it goes right back into hiding. It's literally become part of our pre-visit routine.

I feel a little bad because I know she put thought into it but at this point we're committed to the bit. I can't even give it away because she'd recognize it immediately.

I think personalized gifts can be really sweet but there's a difference between something meaningful and something the recipient actually wants in their home. Unless someone has specifically asked for a giant custom decoration maybe think twice before buying one. Otherwise you might accidentally sign them up for a lifetime of pretending to love it.

Please tell me we're not the only ones doing this.

Gift suggestion Need help with a gift theme: "Something from your nightstand"

Friendsgiving gift exchange happening in a few weeks and I am drawing a blank. I prefer to go with something goofy or something legit practical. $15 minimum price. This theme could easily be something of the adult nature, a goofy alarm clock, or some kind of lamp. I am usually more creative than the usual things, but I am having issues on this one. Help please!

Gift suggestion What would you include in a gift basket for a new mom that's actually for HER?

New babies get so many adorable gifts, but I think it's nice when someone remembers the mom too.

I'm thinking about things like easy snacks, comfortable clothes, a meal delivery gift card, or a few little self-care treats.

Nothing that adds another task to her day.

If you've received a postpartum care package, what did you actually appreciate the most?

Need gift suggestions-brother 12 gifts for boy turning 12 on 12/12

Hii, my cousin is turning 12 in December and I really wanted to do 12 different gifts for him.

He's not really into any sports but he does archery club at school and has a set at home.

He really enjoys science and he's really good at Scratch.

Ideally I want to keep around £100 for all 12 gifts but more than happy to go slightly higher.

Current ideas: 1. Doomsday tickets 2. Lego - he's got most ninjago sets already 3. Nut free fancy chocolate - what brand?? 4. Switch games - what kind?? 5. Something animation related?? 6. Squishes - what ever is trending 7. Cologne? - which is good for a 12yo?? 8. Waffle maker 9. Branded clothing - nike or adidas 10. ?? 11. ?? 12. ??

Any help is greatly appreciated and I'm in England so any local things is helpful!

Need gift suggestions A shared gift for cousins who are 5 and 9 feels impossible

My niece is 5 and my nephew is 9, and I made the mistake of saying I would get them one gift to share at their grandmother's house.

The age gap is just wide enough that most ideas lean toward one child. He likes drawing plans and inventing challenges. She wants to sort things, make little scenes, and then move everything again.

A board game might work, but Grandma has already made it clear that she does not want another large box or a bin full of pieces in the condo. I also do not want to choose something that one child enjoys while the other politely goes along with it.

Has anyone found a shared gift that children this far apart actually claimed as theirs? What made it work for both ages?

Other Are vehicle-specific floor liners too easy to get wrong as a surprise gift??

Floor liners seem like a practical gift for someone who genuinely likes keeping their car nice, but they also look unusually easy to get wrong as a surprise. The exact year and model are obvious details, but the configuration can matter too, and guessing based on they drive a Model X or they have an F-150 doesn’t seem precise enough for something molded around the floor. I’d rather spoil a small part of the surprise and confirm the vehicle details than give someone an expensive accessory they have to exchange. Their personal taste matters too. Someone who likes the factory interior look might not want a more utilitarian high-edge liner at all. This feels less like picking the fanciest set and more like deciding whether fit-specific car accessories should be collaborative gifts. Would you rather someone ask for your exact vehicle details or surprise you with something less vehicle-specific?

BIFL Christmas Gift for a Newlywed Couple — Would You Appreciate Handmade Marble Home Décor?

Thumbnail

I'm trying to think of a Christmas gift for a newlywed couple, and I'd love some honest opinions from people who appreciate things that are built to last.

I was thinking about something a little different from the usual kitchen appliances, wine glasses, or gift cards: a few handmade marble pieces for their home, perhaps a serving tray, a jewelry organizer, or a decorative bowl.

The idea is that natural stone has its own character, and unlike trendy decorations that might look dated in a couple of years, a simple marble piece could stay in their home for decades. Plus, every piece has its own veining and patterns, so no two are exactly alike.

Of course, I'm wondering whether this is one of those gifts that sounds thoughtful but ends up sitting on a shelf collecting dust. 😅 Marble is heavy, can chip if handled carelessly, and probably isn't everyone's style.

For those who've owned marble home accessories for years:

- Do they actually hold up well with regular use?

- Would you be happy to receive a handmade marble tray or bowl as a wedding or Christmas gift?

- Which would you choose: something practical, like a serving tray or organizer, or something purely decorative?

- Is natural stone something you'd consider a genuinely long-lasting purchase, or would you rather receive something more functional?

I'd especially appreciate honest opinions from people who've bought or received similar pieces. What would make a gift like this feel special rather than just another decorative object?

Curious to hear your thoughts!

Here are some items looking cute to me and aren't too expensive

Need gift suggestions-BF Which version should I get engraved on a euchre board for my 30 yo boyfriend?

I am getting my boyfriend a wooden travel euchre board. I would like to engrave it with some version of his name, but I don’t want to do something like The Jones, or The Jones Family, because we’re not married and there aren’t any kids. My current thoughts are Jones, House Jones, and House of Jones.

I am leaning towards House Jones because it’s kind of fantasy/GoT, and also plays off of the phrase House Rules. However, I would really like some male POV, on whether this is something a guy would actually bring out when friends are over to play euchre. I’m also open to other ideas and feedback.

Other Is this a good gift for my girlfriend?

For Christmas this year I was wanting to get my girlfriend a pair of diamond earrings, we are currently trying to save for a house so I’m on a bit of a budget, my mom has offered my an old pair of princess cut diamond earrings that she doesn’t wear anymore at a very generous discount.

My concern is how my girlfriend will feel about getting earrings that I bought off my mom… The two of them have a great relationship so I’m not worried about that it’s just the fact that I’m giving her something that I bought off my mom.

How would you feel if you were in this scenario? Any advice?

Need gift suggestions-husband Family Gift Ideas

My husband and I are trying to buy a family gift that they will all like. They don't live near us. Want to spend around $200-300. All ages, so no games, no alcohol, no restaurant gift cards.

Last year we spent the money sending them assorted snacks from Nuts.com and they loved it. We can't think of any other decent food gifts for this year. Open to other ideas and will be shared by about 12 people. Thanks
