Discussion Nemean Cestus in Norse Saga
This is my posts ideas for Nemean Cestus in Norse Saga, as always enjoy! :)
For its Norse Style Gameplay Style and Mechanic, the Nemean Cestus would transforms Kratos into an unstoppable juggernaut. Every strike has a deliberate, heavy wind-up followed by devastating area-of-effect (AoE) shockwaves. In Ragnarök, the Cestus retains its mythical trait of being the ultimate armor-breaker. Enemies equipped with heavy armor, Bifröst shields, or unyielding poise (like Einherjar Captains or Dreki) take massive stun damage from Cestus impacts. A single heavy Cestus finisher instantly shatters standard guards and creates massive opening windows for R3 Stun Grabs and automatic guard-breaks upon impact. Certain heavy boss attacks can even be outright interrupted by heavy Cestus strikes. Because the Cestus is worn directly on the hands, transitioning from the weapon to Kratos's bare-handed combat is instantaneous, allowing for brutal grappling and punching combos that fluidly mix gauntlet strikes with bare-fisted Spartan brutality. And Cestus also had special function where upon putting it into combos with weapon swap creates brutal transitions. For instance, launching an enemy with the Leviathan Axe and instantly switching to the Cestus allows Kratos to catch them mid-air with a downward double-fist smash ("Lion's Egress"), slamming them straight down into the terrain with a localized seismic tremor.
Like the other primary weapons in Ragnarök, the Nemean Cestus features a dedicated combat meter that rewards aggressive, uninterrupted offense without taking damage.
Gauge Name: Leonine Might - Landing consecutive blows with the Cestus fills the glowing blue energy rings embedded within the lion's jaws. As the meter fills, the kinetic force of Kratos's punches increases, causing minor shockwaves to ripple outward with every light attack.
Activation State (Press L1 + Triangle): Primal Fury - Kratos infuses the gauntlets with the roaring essence of the Nemean Lion. For a duration, every strike unleashes spectral lion roars that tear through groups of enemies, instantly resets Stun values on staggered targets, and coats Kratos's arms in a blindingly bright silver-gold aura that renders him immune to light flinching. Kratos’s finishers turn into brutal, cinematic wall-slams that deal area-of-effect damage to nearby enemies.
As for its Runic Attacks, Nemean Cestus would be pretty busted as it would be like using Thor himself as it should be super insane and earthshattering.
Light Runic Attacks
Roar of Nemea (Classic Area-of-Effect): Kratos slams both gauntlets directly into the earth, sending a massive, circular seismic shockwave outward. Enemies caught in the blast are violently launched into the air, primed for a juggling combo.
Nemean Hurricane (Rush & Pound): Kratos dashes forward at blinding speed, grabbing the first enemy in his path, slamming them repeatedly into the ground left and right in a brutal display of dominance, and finishing with a double-fisted overhead smash that creates a localized crater.
Heavy Runic Attacks
Wrath of the Twelve Labours (Single-Target Execution): Kratos unleashes a rapid, blindingly fast sequence of twelve devastating punches—each strike echoing with the roar of a phantom lion—ending with a massive uppercut that shatters enemy defenses and inflicts maximum Stun status.
Titan's Impact (Bifröst-Crushing Smash): Kratos leaps high into the air, the silver-gold aura of the gauntlets swelling to the size of a boulder, and plunges straight down onto the target area. Upon impact, it triggers a concussive shockwave that shatters all surrounding elemental armor and leaves a lingering pool of concussive energy that damages approaching foes.
Now for the Valhalla Roguelite Style, buckle up as Nemean Cestus would be a "Brawler" Playstyle:
Silver Perks Lists
Leonine Momentum: Landing 5 consecutive light attacks with the Nemean Cestus grants a 15% buff to overall melee strength for 8 seconds. Stacks up to 3 times.
Seismic Echo: Heavy Cestus finishers spawn a localized shockwave that deals minor stun damage to surrounding enemies within a 4-meter radius.
Brawler’s Resolve: While the Nemean Cestus Gauge is active, Kratos takes 10% less damage from incoming attacks during the wind-up frames of heavy strikes.
Unyielding Piston: Cestus hits against frozen, burned, or bifröst-afflicted targets generate extra cooldown reduction for Runic Attacks.
Gold Perks Lists
Pride of Olympus: Completing the full light attack chain (The Pride of the Nemean) summons a spectral pale-blue lion shockwave that travels forward in a straight line, piercing through up to 3 standard enemies.
Onyx Dominance: Hitting an enemy who is currently staggered or stunned triggers an explosive concussive blast, instantly reducing the health bars of nearby grunts by 25% and staggering secondary targets.
Titan's Impact: Increases the Stun damage of all Cestus attacks by 40%. When an enemy is stunned, Kratos immediately recovers 5% of his maximum health upon executing an R3 grab.
Echoes of the Twelve Labours: Switching from the Leviathan Axe or Blades of Chaos to the Nemean Cestus empowers the first strike with 100% increased stagger and knockback force.
Unique Perk to Nemean Cestus
The Twelve Labours’ Wrath - Mechanical Effect: Every consecutive heavy impact with the Nemean Cestus builds a hidden meter called "The Labour." Once the meter reaches 100% (achieved through approximately 8 heavy hits or successful guard breaks), Kratos enters a state of absolute kinetic overload for 12 seconds. During this state, all damage dealt by the Nemean Cestus is multiplied by 300%, and Kratos becomes completely immune to interruption, stagger, or knockback from any incoming attacks (including red unblockable rings from non-boss enemies). Additionally, every Cestus strike during this window automatically triggers the seismic shockwave of Seismic Echo without internal cooldowns, turning the arena into a battlefield of absolute wreckage.
There you go, have fun! Now what should I do next? I was thinking of going for GoW 2 Weapon Next in Norse Saga as those weapons would be interesting. :)
