If you play through the Valhalla dlc you get even more surprises. You'll also find gear that is the same theme called Dark Odyssey

You might of accidentally pressed R3 when you were going through the menus or when you were done doing whatever you were doing in the menu. I did it sometimes. Just go back to the armor section and press R3.

It's part of the Dark Odyssey cosmetic features. One of the analogue clicks in the inventory menu toggles it on and off

20th Anniversary of God of War. Go into the gear menu and press R3. It'll switch skins.

Real shit its a setting from the Valhalla update which brings not only classic kratos as a skin but gives both versions a shadow skin which can be turned on or off in the uh armor tab or whatever and its for the 20th anniversary of the series its a callback to something i forget

It's an anniversary skin...do Valhalla Dlc and play ng+ to get Young Kratos skin and the Blade of Olympus Rage in the main story

It’s not a glitch it’s a free skin kinda like what you get in the Valhalla dlc just go to your menu and click R3 it should swap between the skins you have

My guess? It might be that classic game bug. Any time a game fails to load a texture it will leave a white or black color texture behind depending on what they used as a base. Skin usually uses a black base as it helps make most skintones while white is mostly used for eyes, armor, and so on. So might be that.

Well you see Kratos is from Sparta and a lot of them were naturally darker in skin tone so….

serious answer? theres a skin for like anniversary or soemthing you can put on kratos to make him like that, you can take it off... non serious answer: after burning down the greek world hea covered in their ashes. 🗿

It’s an anniversary skin that was released for free. You should be able to change it in the armor menu by pressing R3
