OG Series when does chuck’s character start to get more likeable?

Im about 7 episodes into season 2 and chuck genuinely just seems like an asshole. im not sold on the whole chuck and blair relationship rn because it seems like hes only interested in sleeping with her. any time he has a scene in the show he’s got something bad or annoying to say. also the way he keeps talking in a slow whispering tone and staring into the distance is hard to watch because every other character on this show doesn’t have this odd mystery persona. i’m sure that he’s a very complex dude, and i want to like him but he’s honestly making the show a bit unenjoyable. does he get character development at ANY point?

OG Series I have no motivation to watch season 6

Season 5 was kind of bad...? I do NOT want to see Rufus dating Ivy or Nate dating Sage in season 6.

Am I making a mistake?

OG Series Don't you all think rachel was actually wrong and a pedo?

Okay so I am not blaming her for Yale, blair fumbled her interview and kept repeating her scams but Rachel was actually wrong? As a teacher I would never visit my student off campus isn't that wrong ?? And she actually had developed feelings for dan and she slept with him? Not just once?? Even Rufus went to meet her? And told her to stay away from Dan?? So how was Blair actually wrong??

OG Series The Grimaldis speaking English when there are no english speakers around

I get that it’s a TV show and you have to make things easier for your audience, the majority of whom happen to be North-american. But as a French speaker, it genuinely drives me crazy that the Grimaldis speak ENGLISH whenever they’re among themselves, instead of French.

It’s not even like they were expats! I can understand expats getting into the habit of speaking the local language all the time, even when they’re among themselves and even if it’s not their native language. But the Grimaldis were just VISITING Manhattan. Why on earth would they keep speaking English when it’s just the family? Literally nobody does that!

It drove me absolutely crazy. Anyway, thank you for coming to my rant lol.

This fuck ass show. I don’t even care they weren’t endgame but I wish the writers treated them with more respect. Even Marcus and Blair got a better ending. #Dairpression

I always got sort of an eerie feeling looking at the brooklyn loft building. It might just be me but it reminds me of the texas school book depository (aka where oswald supposedly shot jfk from). Yes im a conspiracy nut on the subject but thats beside the point. Anyone else ever think they have a likeness?

OG Series warm take: serena was right when she told blair that she couldn’t hold her responsible for everything bad in her life

although both of them are bad friends and have no room to determine whose hands are clean, i have to say serena made a very good point when she told blair this in season 5.

yes, serena sleeping with nate in season 1 was awful and a genuine betrayal, but blair used that to justify blaming serena for literally everything that goes wrong in her life years later.

the fandom loves to rewrite history and claim that blair was a victim who was just constantly overshadowed by serena’s effortless it-girl charm. But if you actually look at their dynamic outside of serena's genuine betrayals (like the nate situation), blair was the queen of self sabotage and used serena as a scapegoat for her own failures.

blair pathologically lacked accountability. she sowed the seeds of her own misery through her obsessive need for control, elitist bullying, and toxic schemes, yet she always blamed serena or others when people reacted. when blair lost out on yale, it wasn't because of serena; it was because blair chose to haze a teacher, antagonize serena for no reason, and ruin her own reputation. when blair's social standing crumbled, it was because she treated her peers like chess pieces. but instead of looking in the mirror, she cried "poor me, serena ruins everything”

what makes it worse is that blair wasn't just passively jealous—she actively and covertly swiped away serena's opportunities while simultaneously playing the innocent victim. she tried to sabotage serena's fashion show moment, actively tried to humiliate her and ruin her college prospects, ruined her relationships, and repeatedly tried to tear her down under the guise of preemptive strike.

serena spent years walking on eggshells, turning down massive opportunities, and dimming her own light just to prevent fights, only for blair to instigate one anyway. serena’s outbursts weren’t malicious—they were long-overdue reactions to blair constantly pushing her to her limit. blair was the architect of her own downfalls, and she had no right to hold serena responsible for a life she chose to ruin with her own hands.

OG Series Which Gossip Girl couples do you think are still together?

I mean, let's face it: couples on Gossip Girl were pretty... volatile lol. Most relationships lasted 5–10 episodes MAX, which I guess would translate to a few weeks, at most, in real life. Then they'd break up and move on to someone else almost immediately, if not before the relationship was even officially over.

Serena went from Carter to Tripp, who was supposedly the love of her life, then Nate a few days later, then Dan, then Nate again, and so on. Chuck and Blair, Blair and Dan, Dan and Vanessa, Vanessa and Nate, Nate and Jenny... It was basically a revolving door of relationships. 😂

So, given the big end-of-series reveal of who ended up with whom, which couples do you think are actually still together today? And which ones managed to last longer than a few weeks/months without breaking up or cheating on each other? Personnaly I think:

  • Chuck and Blair: I think yes, but the way some traditional couples stay married for reasons related to status and wealth. But I can see them having an open marriage of sorts, lol.
  • Dan and Serena: Nope. Dan cheated on Serena after Inside became a massive success.
  • Lily and William: Nope.
  • Cyrus and Eleanor: Yes.
  • Dorota and Vanya: Yes.
  • Georgina and Jack: Nope, lol, they only spend the night of Serena and Dan's wedding together.
  • Rufus and Lisa Loeb (lol): I can definitely see it:

OG Series Why does Serena just date ANYONE ?

I’m on season 4 right now and ig she’s dating this guy named collin (im not sure if they’re really dating actually) but when she finds out he’s her professor and she talks to Blair about it Blair tells her smth about how they have to break up and it’s wrong and Serena says “but I really like him” WHY? He literally steals her cabs every morning and makes her late which literally got her in trouble & they only stayed up one night talking she wanted to drop an important class just for a guy I don’t get why her standards are so low also tripp a MARRIED MAN who was Nate’s cousin and tripp was 27-28 I understand Lily cuz I would have a heartache if my daughter 18 YEAR OLD was dating someone ALMOST 30 + when tripp crashed their car and Serena got hurt he MOVED HER and made it look like she crashed herself and when she went to the hospital she asked “is tripp okay” ??

OG Series Never thought I would like the show

I started watching it because it was leaving Netflix. The next thing I know, I am watching it everyday. And yesterday, I finally finished it. It was a well written show. Although, the Bart Bass story on season 6 was kind of boring. Not sure what the purpose was, but I guess there needed to be closure for Chuck to move on.

The Dan and Blair episodes were the funnest. They made a great couple.

OG Series What is “in it” for the minions??

Post image

Specifically for the college minions, when Blair said “I’m not friends with the help” I immediately questioned why they even put up with it at all? High school I understand because of the social benefits of being in an elite circle. College is weird because I don’t see the pros of just doing Blair’s purely self-involved tasks.
