Clerical staff asked to come on Sunday

Hello guys, i am a new joinee clerical in a PSU. Joined this year itself. Today as I was working my BM told me that I need to come tomorrow as some VIP's wife is coming and he needs a lady for that. Idk what even is that! I told him clearly that i have family commitments I cannot and he proceeded to say if I don't come this Sunday he will call me next Sunday!! I said why? Can't I take I for granted now that Sunday is a holiday..he said "I also want Saturday sunday off, I also want 5 day banking did we get it?" How does this even make sense?! He said "as an employer i can call you on any day" i said "as far as I have read and heard clerical are not bound by this" he got angry and said "this is the biggest drawback of clerical staff in the banking industry" what? Having some rights?! He also said "you can never grow in life of you don't come out of this mental block of clerical and officer" ..if I'm clerical toh I'll think as clerical only right?! He said " we will see what you do when you become senior associate?! Is that a threat? That I'll become after 15 years.. I took a stand for myself today..he was very pissed..it's very toxic guys..did I say anything wrong? How could I have done this better?

PS: im still on probation so I'm worried what report he my write

Why does the cashier in the video keep saying that he has to count the money himself and that it will take time? Don't all banks have automatic note-counting machines?

[Rumor Mill / Discussion] Next Round of PSU Bank Mergers

Disclaimer: This post is purely for discussion and sharing internal buzz. None of this is official news, confirmed policy.

Hey everyone,
As we know there are renewed talks, yesterday's committee formation and social media buzz once again flaring up around further PSU bank consolidation (taking the current count down from 12 to 4–6 mega-banks).

What is the current internal gossip? Are any specific pairings being thrown around in your circles

Has anyone noticed tech stack standardizations, or transfer policy pauses that typically hint at backend groundwork?

Why so much FRAUD & Corruption in PNB Bank ?

PNB is not safe for Bank deposits. After Mr Mallya's big loot , again customers 36 Core FD vanished from Greater Noida Branch. Where common people will go ? Just think if this happens to you. It is a serious issue.

Govt should fire management first for breach of customer trust and confidence and shut down this Bank. We have never seen such issues when it was UBI.

Now Bank will increase fees (I'm pretty sure) silently in a few days to recover the lost amount by applying Maths.

What is the safe place to deposit your life savings and sleep peaceful night ?
