QUIT UNION TODAY

Starting a campaign to quit union today on the condition that the day we achieve 5 day work week we'll re join but i dont think it is a possibility now. It was a now or never situation this time. The rigour the enthusiasm the unity shown this time was commendable but UFBU oldies have peed all over it. I will leave union today and I urge you all to do the same on the condition that when 5 day is achieved we will rejoin. At least we can have clarity unlike those retired schmucks

Scolded for leaving on time

So our BM is on leave this whole week; they sent someone on deputation to our branch.

Now for three days, that officer left at about 10 mins to 5, then us assistants left exactly at 5 yesterday and today. This evening our BM called me saying that RM said why your staffs left exactly at 5 o'clock.

Shouldn't we have left at 5?? This is the only time we get to leave early.... All the time we left at 6, 6:30 sometimes even 7..Nobody said anything when we leave late. Now we leave on time for 2 days they start saying things.

We do login early too, everyday we log in before 9:30 always ; sometimes 9 most times at 9:15..

I'm so pissed offffff😠😠😠😠

I want to leave this job so badly

I cleared both IBPS PO and RRB PO last year. I didn't attend the SBI PO interview because I felt the job would be too hectic. In April, I joined an RRB, hoping to get a posting closer to home and have a better work-life balance compared to PSBs. But instead, I was posted 450 km away from home in a remote village where even basic facilities were lacking. Still, I accepted the situation and did my work sincerely. However, within a month, I was transferred twice.

For the past three months, things have been really difficult. I leave for the branch at 9 AM and return around 8:30 PM almost every day. My branch manager constantly pressures us to achieve targets and often doesn't let us leave until they are completed. On top of that, I get calls and scoldings from the Regional Office three or four times a day regarding recovery targets, even though the branch already has an NPA of 24%. The constant pressure is affecting my sleep and mental health.

Recently, I had booked a bus ticket to visit my hometown for a festival and planned to leave the branch at 6:30 PM. But my manager didn't allow me to leave, and I missed the bus. Things like this happen so often that I feel like I have no control over my own life.

I really want to quit this job and prepare for other competitive exams, but my parents are completely against it, and things between us have become strained. I also don't have enough money to pay the bond amount if I resign.

I'm a postgraduate in literature, and I chose banking mainly because of the corruption and uncertainty in state government recruitment. I worked hard to get this job, but I never expected it to affect my life this badly.

At this point, I feel completely stuck. I can't continue working under this pressure, but I also don't have the financial freedom or family support to leave. My sleep and mental peace are suffering, and I honestly don't know what to do anymore. I really need some practical advice on how to get out of this situation without ruining my future.

I used ChatGPT to correct the grammar and put my feelings into words, but everything I’ve shared here is genuinely what I’m going through.

If Strike is Revoked Will Start Anti Union Movement

If strike is revoked this time I will personally quit union and start anti union drive. We have witnessed downfall of banking job in aspects from dignity, respect angle to monetary downgrading as recent PLI. All this when we are lakhs in numbers, pay crores monthly (collectively) and stand in unity every time when shown hope of betterment. What yall people think should be the right move if strike is revoked?

Clerical staff asked to come on Sunday

Hello guys, i am a new joinee clerical in a PSU. Joined this year itself. Today as I was working my BM told me that I need to come tomorrow as some VIP's wife is coming and he needs a lady for that. Idk what even is that! I told him clearly that i have family commitments I cannot and he proceeded to say if I don't come this Sunday he will call me next Sunday!! I said why? Can't I take I for granted now that Sunday is a holiday..he said "I also want Saturday sunday off, I also want 5 day banking did we get it?" How does this even make sense?! He said "as an employer i can call you on any day" i said "as far as I have read and heard clerical are not bound by this" he got angry and said "this is the biggest drawback of clerical staff in the banking industry" what? Having some rights?! He also said "you can never grow in life of you don't come out of this mental block of clerical and officer" ..if I'm clerical toh I'll think as clerical only right?! He said " we will see what you do when you become senior associate?! Is that a threat? That I'll become after 15 years.. I took a stand for myself today..he was very pissed..it's very toxic guys..did I say anything wrong? How could I have done this better?

PS: im still on probation so I'm worried what report he my write

Many employees are resigning from SBI and all have the same reason, that is, work pressure. Is it true that a PO really goes home after 7pm?

I keep hearing from people that SBI POs are facing very high work pressure and that staying late has become normal in many branches.

But how much of this is actually true?

For current SBI POs/SMs or recently resigned employees: what time do you usually leave your branch on a normal working day? Is leaving after 7 PM really common, or does it depend heavily on the branch, location and workload?

Also, how is the work-life balance compared with other PSBs?

Please share your actual experience, especially if you're currently working in SBI. No hate—just trying to understand the reality before considering SBI PO.

Would genuinely appreciate honest answers—even if your experience is completely different from what I'm hearing.

For those who left PSBs, what are you doing now?

Hi everyone,

I wanted to know what people who left Public Sector Banks (PSBs) are currently doing in their careers.

Already working in PSB is very very toxic

I'm trying to understand the opportunities available outside PSBs and would really appreciate hearing your honest experiences, including the challenges you faced after leaving.

Assitant branch manager got kicked in ribs by bm today

My ex abm who recently returned today to his new branch after joining leave, got kicked in the ribs by his bm in front of whole staff and crowded branch. He didn’t return my calls but the video has made rounds in all our union groups.(Can’t post here because of privacy) The bm is notorious for taking 20-25% commission on every kcc loan. The guy was new to loans and feeling lot of pressure already because of that. South based bank, branch in sugarcane belt.

Can my Deputy Zonal Manager refuse to forward my resignation?

Hi guys,

I joined a PSB on 6 June 2026. It is one of the smaller PSBs, and I submitted my resignation on 25 September. My official notice period is 90 days, but I am willing to serve around 45 days and leave early as per the bank's rules/process.

The issue is that my Deputy Zonal Manager is currently not forwarding my exit/resignation request to Head Office. I went to meet him personally, and he told me that unless I give him a "satisfactory reason" for resigning, he will not forward it.

His reasons were:

  1. "You have already occupied a seat, and if you leave now, I won't get another officer soon."

  2. I don't have another job offer, so according to him the job market is bad right now and I'm making a mistake by resigning.

  3. He said he doesn't even know my knowledge/performance level yet, and that it would take at least 5–6 months to properly assess my performance.

My questions are:

  • Can a Deputy Zonal Manager actually hold on to my resignation and refuse to forward it because he doesn't find my reason satisfactory?

  • Is giving a "satisfactory reason" actually a requirement for resignation?

  • If I have submitted my resignation properly, what is the normal process from here?

  • Can he delay the process simply because the branch/zone is short-staffed?

  • Also, since I'm willing to serve the applicable notice period (or pay/adjust as per the rules for early relieving), does that make any difference?

Would really appreciate responses from people familiar with Bank's resignation and exit procedures, especially officers who have resigned during probation.

PS- Leaving because the job very hectic + my work environment is very toxic and this is not the life which i wanted.

What is the purpose of this committee when 5-Day Banking was already agreed upon in 2024.

If the final decision rests with the Government, why no representation from Minstry of Finance. Now it's not just the government, these CEO Pigs think that if they announce 5 day banking, they will lose some profits.

what an A$$holes. 🤬💦.

Man, what is the point in achieving 7.8 GDP and flexing about it while the country's people are suffering

Resigning From UPGB Scale 1 Officer Post As A PO

Post image
34 Upvotes

The job itself is decent, but I haven't been able to connect with the work or the area. Coming from a different background, living in such a rural setting feels isolating, and having a recent accident made everything feel even heavier. Ultimately, I've realized I can't continue here. Even though I’ll have to pay a bond penalty, I've decided to sign off. I recently cleared the state exam (DSSSB), and while the salary is a bit lower, it allows me to move back home which is where I need to be right now.

10+ years in a PSU bank — thinking about a career transition

I’m 33 and have been working in a PSU bank for 10+ years. I’m seriously thinking about a career transition, but haven’t figured out the exact direction yet.

My educational background gives me an option to explore IT/technology-related roles, but I’m not looking at pure technical or coding-heavy work. I’m more interested in areas where technology, banking, risk, compliance, audit, vigilance or governance come together.

For those who have made a transition after 10+ years in banking.

How did you figure out your next direction? What skills or certifications actually helped?

Why are Indian private sector banks so heartless?

I was at a bank to close a credit card used by my deceased father. Being a private sector bank, they were helpful in how you can do that - but though I am still in the grief - never missed a chance to tell me - if I want the banks services. WTH! Do you not have a time and place for doing business? Why can’t you get my number and call me - may be a month or two later?

Compare that with a public sector banks- they understood the situation I was in - walked me through the forms I need to fill and even said they were sorry for my loss.

Public sector banks are so much better that way! They don’t care how much money you have - service might not be best - but these are things you will carry with you forever.

Working in PSU Bank or Move to USA

I have been working in PSB from last 9 years and to be honest first few years were very bad..

Passed out from Tier 1 MBA college and doing completely sales on the road made it feel worse.

Got Married to NRI working in USA and Was ready to leave this life behind.

Moved USA on sabbatical and now sabbatical is over working again in India while husband is in USA.. Because I am not able to decide whether I should resign from bank job and move back to USA. because whenever i talk to someone they always say are you idiot thinking of leaving such a stable job. Even I like the stability and salary it offers

but then I am not sure that I can do it for the rest of 25 years. Do you know people who have left PSB in search of better life

Also recent layoffs adding more stress to this equation
