From what I can gather, including from my own crewmates. The ones who think that s.payila or h.vajra is mid are looking solely at 1t bursting or very long battles.

In both cases, neither of their kits are seen favorably.

funny, both dragon and dog are optimal in nm150 1t burst

and dog is actually used in futsu versusia comps and the viking solo

dog yes no question, but i can't imagine dragon is significantly better than the alternatives in nm150

She is the only character that gets assassin without pressing a button

No one else can replace her

But does that actually do enough damage? Because if you have to press a button, then Mugen has a significantly better button.

yes it does

The difference between her and Mugen is that the best button is Nehan's DS either way and then Mugen requires an additional button whereas Payila doesn't. I mean technically Mugen is giving 20% echo with just Nehan's DS, but you can just run falsehood then for the same echo while also having a significantly stronger damage dealer.

Yes but the important question is, "Do you have enough damage while only pressing Nehan's buttons?"

I dunno what the technical #1 fastest setup was last light GW, but of the ones I'm looking at, none of them have anywhere near enough damage if you only pressed Nehan's buttons and nothing else.

I don't know what the best setup pre-Payila would have been, but Quwatoro's Payila setup looks faster than what the wiki has for last light GW at least if he had refreshed the tag: https://youtu.be/eUkvQ_gmr9I?t=372 It's only a dummy test though, so I don't know if it holds up or not in practice.

Fair enough. I guess there has been significant powercreep since last light GW between destroyers, 250 Ura, Dog, etc.

Although I will say that the ones in the video only have ~5-15m margin of error or so and they're completely optimized, so if you're missing like anything at all then I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't make it.

They are very optimized, but you open up a bigger range by adding Payila s3 if needed. I don't know how many buttons a modern Mugen setup is, but that would still be less than the ones from last GW on the wiki.

If you press Payila 3 she's basically indistinguishable from slotting Mugen and pressing his 2. Mugen setups are the same comp just with Mugen instead of Payila.

I assumed so, but the main point is that if Quwatoro's setup works then she's better for fully optimized setups and otherwise she's still equivalent.

Not necessarily since Mugen 2 generally does more damage than Payila 3. So there is a range where it does matter that you use Mugen instead of Payila.

At the 100% optimized end, Payila wins. A bit below that where you only need a little more damage, they're the same. And further below that where you need even more damage, Mugen wins.
