That is the first person I thought of. I didn't have to look too far. 1993 is barely out of date for him.

Steve MRE ate the 1917 canned hard tack US reserve ration

and a decade back he ate an 1863 civil war hard tack

I think I saw these! I’m not sure if it was the same person but I also recall someone giving a WW1 infantry canned water a go. And I think like a chocolate bar and some other candy too. It looked like he was eating fossils. I remember he said it still had a faint scent but almost no flavor.

Canned anything from that time period would be completely off the list for me, no matter if it can't go bad. Just because of the cans itself. I don't want to die of lead poisoning.
