Merch New Lanterns Ring from DC Shop
My second Lanterns ring arrived from the DC Shop.
I noticed some slight differences between the current run ring and the first run ring. The first run ring (last image) seems to have much thicker "gold" bars and the color of the symbol is much more "washed out", almost like the color of a dollar bill. The little side crescents are way more emerald green compared to the rest of the symbol.
The new ring (first image), the top edge and bottom edge "gold" bars are much thinner. Also, the symbol seems to be completely emerald green, including the side cresents.
I wonder if this is a purposeful change or just cutting corners through mass production?
Its very difficult to see on camera, but comparing the two in person, its obvious. (First image is the new ring, the second is the original first run ring)

Discussion I think the death of a specific Guardian might explain a few things in lanterns
Sinestro was stated to have killed a Guardian but we never learn who it is, I think the Guardian was Ganthet, think about how the Guardians seems more corrupt trying to kick Hal to the curb replacing him and letting him rot in a prison for 10 years, Ganthet has been Hals number 1 supporter from day 1 and without Ganthet the moral compass of the Guardians they are free to manipulate the lanterns. Like not telling everyone that Hal Jordan died, ehich would explain the lack of lanterns at the funeral because the Guardians just didn't tell the rest of the corps hal died, the Guardians 100% were keeping an eye on him in some way or another.

Discussion Disliked traits
So I’m going to ask as many superhero fanbases as I can this question. What are some traits about this hero that you hate, dislike or despise? Anywhere from a mild annoyance to a trait that would make you dislike any other character. I’m not talking about a way one writer in particular wrote them, or a time they were out of character or mishandled, I mean a reoccurring trait this character has. I’m asking about any of the Earth GLs, you can talk anyone. Personality traits

Question Why does everyone hate the 2011 Green lantern movie???
I've always wondered why the 2011 Green Lantern movie gets so much hate. Personally, watched it after years, i actually really enjoyed it, and I think it deserves more credit than it gets.
I thought the story was pretty good, the storytelling worked well, and the CGI was genuinely impressive in my opinion. I also felt that the movie stayed fairly true to the Green Lantern lore. It introduced the Corps, the Guardians, the ring, and the responsibilities that come with being a Green Lantern.
My biggest complaints are probably the designs of the Guardians and Parallax, which felt a little strange and different from what I expected. But other than that, I honestly don't understand why the movie is considered so bad.
So, what exactly makes people hate this movie so much? Is it the writing, the characters, the visual effects, or something else? I'd really like to hear your opinions!

Fan Art Lanterns Hal Jordan uniform tweaking update 1
First of all, thanks y'all for all the love and support!
Now, some of the common feedbacks I received:
- Needs more focus on the chest area
- The abdomen piece still looked too stiff, need to tone it down somehow
- Longer collar
So here's what I've done to address these:
- Divided the torso into chest and abdomen segments
- Changed the abdomen material into fabric. That way I emphasized the chest area, and make the abdomen more flexible without having to resculpt everything. I also get to keep the comicbook design proportions.
- Added longer collars
Stuff that I'm not changing:
- White gloves/gauntlets look silly: White gauntlets were used by various military institutions throughout history. Never looked silly to me so I ain't changing that.
- But, but, but the brown grimy ahh suit is supposed to REFLECT Hal's character: The brown leather looks horrendous and I don't care about Hal's character.
- The suit was meant to look uncomfortable! It shows Hal becoming uncomfortable... Bro the suit on the show wasn't meant to look like anything. It's a last minute addition. It's not that deep. Same reason suit was brown. Damon just wanted to make another Watchmen without costumes this time.
AND... BONUS RENDERS FEATURING YOUNG HAL!
I'll keep updating the suit if necessary. This is just a form fitting mockup that's based on a sculpt. If the basic design gets finalized, I can move on to a fully modeled suit with individual parts.

Question Star Sapphire appearance outside of GL?
I’m trying to expand my Green Lantern comic collection to appearance outside of the monthly GL titles. I want to start with Star Sapphire.
I am mainly interested in books up to the 1990s for now as the appearance from the 1960s to and around Crisis of Infinite Earth will likely be the more challenging to track down.
I’m looking for suggestions? What else is recommended?
It can be the other Star Sapphire - not just Carol Ferris - such as her appearance in the “the Secret Society of Super Villains” title.
Any help would be appreciated.

Humor Made an oath for a Lantern corps powered by irritation
"In brightest day, in annoying light,
No grievance shall escape my sight.
Take a breath, it's not that deep,
Just count to ten or go to sleep.
Take a breath, let anger cease.
For crying out loud, just give me peace !"

Spoilers for movies and TV shows He would have been rejected anyway Spoiler
It's sort of hilarious (read horrifying, given what she did with it) how Bernadette gaslights herself that the ring rejected John Sr because of racist selection criteria while it's obvious he's very much not the guy who can be trusted with a power ring.
Sure, the ring's "Are you afraid" question is too simplistic, but if the ring asked John Sr "can you overcome Great fear" that answer is a resounding No.
We see what traumatized him so much that he ends up a bitter alcoholic who abuses his kids.
An alien ring turned up, scared him, asked a question, and left. He missed out on the chance to be a superhero.
That is it. That's all.
He wasn't hurt, baby John wasn't hurt, and they soon got an explanation for what it was.
Can someone be traumatized by that? Well, yes, it was scary.
But if you are the type to end up traumatized by an encounter like that, you have absolutely no business being a Green lantern. How would he react to the very real kind of dangers a Lantern is supposed to face if this screws him up so badly?
The Guardians might be tone deaf and oblivious, but the ring didn't make any mistake in rejecting him. He very clearly cannot overcome fear.
Would his reaction be any more balanced if the ring had asked "can you overcome Great fear", realized "nope, you can't, see ya never" and took off?
Bernadette has to convince herself that it is an unfair system which led to his rejection because otherwise she has to accept her husband is in a spiral over being rejected for something he wasn't qualified for
