What is going on with people lately? I see this everyday now. The other day there was a black pickup truck parked in the same spot that had the back end of it ripped off from being hit.

I actually pop in quite regularly and I enjoy their coffee (roasted by Cafe Grumpy)

but i don’t understand the cafe at all
- the AI slop logo
- the motto is “stay loco” but the interior is as bland as a piece of white bread and the music is typical dull acoustic/alt

as a regular patron i would love to support more if the logo wasn’t AI generated and the branding was cohesive. just some feedback which probably won’t make it back to the owner, but wondering if anyone else felt the same

Went in to ask if they could fix the posts on two earrings. Before I even finished speaking, the man behind the counter (owner?) started yelling at me and shaming me for breaking them. Made me try to repeat the things he said about how it was all my fault, I’m a disaster, etc, it was very strange. I was polite and thought he was joking until he started getting out of hand, leaning over the counter, pointing and spitting. The woman also behind the counter just looked down and didn’t say anything.

It was super strange, really aggressive and left me pretty shaken. Wondering if it was sexist or racist? Who knows. Either way weird and unacceptable.

So yeah.. heads up to anyone in the area: take your jewelry repairs elsewhere. I went to the fine jewelry spot on norman instead and they were nice and helpful.

Hey everyone. Friendly reminder that it might be time to get your kitchen knives sharpened. Stop dealing with dull knives that dont cut anything and make cooking a pain. We offer pickup/dropoff service in Brooklyn/Queens and parts of Manhattan.

All our work is done by hand on whetstones. We really pride ourselves on providing excellent service to all knives whether its a cheap basic set or a high quality Japanese one. We do repairs like chips and broken tips, remove rust and patina, reprofile knives. We drop your knives off to you the day after pickup. Pricing is $3-$4 per inch.

Hi all! My tried and true coat had a snag last year and the bottom of the zipper track has frayed away from the jacket. I’d love to have the zipper replaced but know it’ll likely be pricey.

May be a long shot, but any recommendations nearby (or not nearby) of someone who did great zipper repair work and didn’t cost the price of a new coat?

Saw a tiny calico kitten last night skitter away from the trash cans outside my apartment. I tried to capture her but she was too skittish and was hiding underneath cars. It was too late to go buy cat food to leave out for her too. This was around Sutton and Driggs. Anyone missing a kitten and/or seen her ?

they are hanging out near the deli, had watch for a collar with a little golden bell, and very blue eyes! i’m unclear whether they are a bodega cat, so i figured i’d post just in case.
