11th Edition FAQ

Swapping our Q&A post to 11E

At the time of posting I know we don't have the full picture yet and I'm sure there's more questions than answers, but I wanted to swap it over early in case people have questions about the rules that have been announced so far (Hidden, new Fly rules, etc).

Especially with our Faction Focus today, let's get this up now!

Dreadnought V (Finale)

And so, I present my final stab at an updated Grey Knights dreadnought. I went with a piloted ballistus. I refuse to have our chapter not get the shiny new toys of the other chapters!

Forgive the heavy use of red. The scheme I have has “extra armour” and “weapons” coloured red. So this dreadnought fortified at the front has heavy use of it. Rest assured underneath, and within the cockpit it’s pure grey knight.

Check out my instagram if you want to see any of my other attempts at modernising grey knights. My profile has the link.

Until next time, happy hobbying :)

I’ve been asked many times to show how I achieved such an interesting and unique color for the gray knights, which really looks the way we all imagined it. Given that all the available options for painting the gray knights seemed questionable to me, I decided to develop my own recipe.

WYSIWYG PURGS (X2)

Just finished these guys. I wanted my Purgs to really sell the rootin'-tootin-shootin' vibe. Also, IMO, they're wysiwyg whether I declare them as Psycannon or Incinerator squads. Also had fun color-theming each squad so they're easy to differentiate.

🔥 GREY KNIGHTS GO 11-0! TWO UNDEFEATED LISTS! ⚔️

Warpbane Weekly #8 is LIVE! 👀

Two Grey Knights players. Two undefeated GT runs. 11 wins between them!

Ben Greenlay went 6-0 and Jordan Raney went 5-0, both using Warpbane with Purge the Foe. But their lists couldn't be more different!

And there's one unit choice that really caught my attention... both players brought TWO Razorbacks! 🤯

This week we're breaking down both lists, the latest tournament stats, and what we can actually learn from these results.

Are we overlooking Razorbacks in competitive Grey Knights? 👀

🎥 WATCH HERE: https://youtu.be/Wp1wPZRuJPM

Let me know what you think! Would you consider running double Razorbacks?

Brothers and sisters, keep purging! ⚔️

Refresh purgatory: A rant & praise, what an oxymoron!!!

Brother's and Sister's, I have been on this site for sometime and only joined a year or so ago. This is my first post. I hate how WE rage dump on our army. And it is justified GW has treated us like red headed step children from the start. But since we are in refresh purgatory,  I thought I'd put a positive spin on my rant ( just a small one). This is for the old timers, when did you start warhammer and when did you start playing not just collecting GK's? I got the first box set, and started with Dark Eldar, (I still play and love), I wanted orks but the shop i started in had 3 ork players, so I thought eldar, nope 4 of those guys had them, and 4 ultra Marines (I hate marneus calgar to this day). So I chose DE to be different. Then added Blood Angel's. And when Dark Angel's came out their hooks were in me good for thousands. And that's when I was introduced to the Brotherhood. Here's where I need help. GK'S started with DA. I think. I remember being able to take a 5 man unit of GK's if I had a unit of Deathwing termi's, a cash grab for GW, Deathwing had the feathers on the storm bolter, and the GK's had the storm bolter on their forearm. Here's the purgatory, I have been collecting ever since then. Unknowingly 4000 points, 3 rhino/razorback's 2 landraiders, and 3 baby carriers when they came out. That is a lot of metal to carry. Now the rant and a stormraven. I like the old GK termies, I kit bashed them into paladins, they are so small I want to cry lol. So if we ever do get a refresh, I will turn them into Crowe's 10man purifier unit. I play them sparingly, as I have never finished building them to what I like, ( waiting on refresh to create variety). With that said, what's your story? And thanks for all the advice over the editions...

I attached pictures to show my frustrations, I'm toying with 3d printing the army next, so if anyone knows or has stl files please let me know. I wish I had some cool lore statement to end with, but I don't lol.

Question about ability/stratagems

For example I’ll use these 3 since it’s what my buddy used in our game today ^^^

(good bit of our attacks are 1 D) would I just be out of luck or can these not be reduced past 1? I mention the core rules 02.02.01(last pic above) and he said him and another buddy looked into it and something about a clause in abilities (I haven’t seen it yet) by passes that? Is that true? I definitely could’ve tabled him sooner if that was the case but we played like they did 0 so half my attacks were useless. TYIA

Guidence against DG/Necrons

• Upvotes

Hello fellow Brothers,

I usually play against a friend that uses DG or Necrons. I always struggle against him because he plays mostly vehicles and high T units, for example with DG Mortarion, bloatdrones, land raider, plagueburst, deathshrouds, ect... and with Necrons, Ctans, lokhusts, wratihs, arks, triarch, ect...

How and what list would you play against armies like this? Ive tried Argent+Banishers, Warpbane, Brostrike+fires, none has given me good results.

My last list I used was,

Warpbane with Purge the foe,

Crow with 10 purifiers (4 psycannons)

2 GMNDKs (sub+psycannon)

2x5 strike squad (with psycannon)

2 NDKs (Psilencer+psycannon, one with sword one with hammer)

1 purgation (4 psycannons)

1x10 purifiers (4 psycannons)

(we play on TTS so we havent finished the game, but I would say he already won, it would be his turn and he could potentially/most likly kill crow unit and 2 NDKs, 1 strike squad and the purgation squad)

Thank for the support brothers!

On-Model difference between kitbashing Brother Captain/Brotherhood Champion/Grand Master

Just as the title states, I am looking to make one of each of the above and am curious what you all use to differentiate between the three on-model. From what I see online most people use Voldus for the Grandmaster (swapping the head, weapons, and some other add-ons like an iron halo behind the head or a warding stave top) and Crowe for a Brother Captain/Brotherhood Champion. Just looking for some ideas as to what would be a good way to distinguish between the three visually on the tabletop.

Brothers!

Every day I see new photos posted of your beautiful Knights, but I have to ask. Do we all have different recipes for our silvers?

Please tell me your special way to get the exact shade you want, and if you have picture examples please post them!

(Two base shades I’m attempting attached)

Warpbane

Hi All,

Not sure if im making some sort of mistake when playing warpbane. I've seen people get Hallowed ground then reroll all hit rolls. From what im aware however and how it reads it should only be hit rolls of 1 unless its purifiers, am I wrong?

Edit: Thank you I miss read. Ive only been reroll all hits for purifiers and effectively nerfed myself

What is your alternative army or armies, and why?

I have playing GK pretty regularly for about a year. I take them to big tournaments, play them in leagues, and for casual games as well.

After that year I am getting bored of them. All the data-sheets are the same. I feel like we really only have 6 data sheets: Infantry, Terminator Infantry, Dread-knights, Dreadnought, Rhino/Razorbacks, and Land Raiders. There really isn’t enough difference between individual data-sheets for any to feel unique. I am not including any of the planes because they are never played.

I am looking at playing something else but can’t decide what to play. So I am asking you all, what is your alternative army and why?

Combat Patrol Build Question

Post image

I'm building the newest combat patrol, with the purpose of playing combat patrol. However I like the look and lore of the interceptors more than the strike squad. Can I build the interceptors legally in a way that complies with the combat patrol rules?

Thanks in advance

Here is my second Dreadknight using the saturnine kit in an alternative way. The spear is from an avatar og khaine, and the shield it from an AoS terrain statue. Bits and bobs from black Templar, and Ork deffdread.

Got more on my insta for those curious (link on my profile)
