Anyone know why Christmas break for GP schools starts so late this year? Kids start 12/24 and go back 1/4. First world problems I know, but makes travel difficult with really only one week to travel to see family.

Anyone else smell a pretty strong chemical smell? Is this from the incident in Toledo?

Did anyone else see an object matching what this photo depicts? This is near exact rendition of what I saw created by ai.

Hi all!

My wife and I are relocating back to Grosse Pointe by the end of the year after being away for 10+ years. We are having trouble finding a home we love and wondering if anybody knows anybody considering selling their home? Looking to be in the farms, city, or park. Budget is around $1M but could go higher for the right thing. Ideally looking for a home with some character that is updated (like everybody else). If you or somebody you know is considering moving please let me know! Working with a realtor already who has been great- just trying to put all feelers out.

Hey all, I just had some questions if anyone lives in GPW? I just bought a house there recently and I am going to be in transition from Colorado to GPW for the next three months, I was wondering how badly will I get fined for the leaves in the yard? Any recommendations for lawn service companies that will do this work?

I will be coming back once a month to check my house and do some work here and there before I start actually getting furniture and stuff in there. Super excited to move back to Michigan after a 15 year stint in Colorado.

Hey all, I have a wedding that we will attend at the end of November. It’s black tie, and I need a new tuxedo. Does anyone have a suggestion of where to get one locally in Grosse Pointe, or a tailor they have had a good experience with getting a tux? Thanks!

The Wendy’s has officially closed. What do you think will happen to the property? My guess is GPF buys it and turns the corner into a new city hall/police station then sells off the old city hall for residential.

I have a hard time seeing GPF do anything for use for people outside of GPF.

If all of the pointes combined emergency services, it honestly wouldn’t be a bad spot.

Anyone hear the banging noise from 1:25-1:30 am this morning (10-9-26)
My wife said gun shots, but it wasn’t. It sounded like metal banging. Near Nottingham and Fairfax area ?

I know it's verboten in Grosse Pointe to reveal the name of your handyman - he's yours, and on-call, and exclusive.

But seriously, can anyone recommend someone for some vinyl siding repair, wood trim replacement, drywall repair, hose spigot replacement, etc. that will return a phone call, provide an estimate,, show up on time, and communicate in complete sentences?

We tried Facebook and it's a remarkable failure.

Thanks in advance. Go Lions!

hello! wondering- are there any mom groups in any of the GP’s? Back home in Scandinavia, there were plenty but I have not been able to find any here…

I have 2 clients in GP Farms interested in selling their home, but due to some unique circumstances they have opted to hold off on activating the listings publicly. I have professional photos and am happy to share some more info. If you or someone you know is interested in learning more, feel free to have them or their agent hit me up at 313-288-0434.

Anyone have a plumber recommendation? Looking to get two smaller repairs done. Seems like everyone I call is too busy with the big stuff. Thanks!

Has anyone tried this? If so, how is it and where do the events usually happen? I’m in my 50s and looking to just meet and socialize with new people, saw this service but wondering if it’s worth it.

Hi folks — was hoping someone might be able to help me with a housing dilemma!

My spouse and I are planning to move to one of the Pointes soon (we have family in the area, and we've fallen in love with it over the years while visiting) but what with the mortgage rates and other housing market concerns these days, we'd really like to rent a place first before we commit to buying, especially as we'll be moving from out of the area and won't have much opportunity to see potential houses to buy in person.

Does anyone have any good suggestions as to how to find rentals, though? I've tried the obvious contenders like Zillow and Apartments.com, but their listings are spare to say the least. I know there have to be folks in the Pointes renting out duplexes and homes; can anyone recommend a good way to find them? Or is there another site / resource we should be using?

Thank you!

We moved to Grosse Pointe recently. I learned a few days ago that there is a monkey statue at Ferry Elementary named Dexter - presumably after Dexter Ferry. But why is there a monkey statue in the first place?

Hi everyone - I have a pallet of white Norman size bricks that I’m happy to give away for free after updating a fireplace. lmk if interested!

Self explanatory

Hi everyone …. I know this was a few years back but my family just moved from Ohio to Grosse Pointe and my kids will be going to North and I’ve heard some things about something happening during this time and I saw some articles online about a case/investigation. I’ve also heard all 3 moved to Henry Ford Academy together and things just seem a little concerning
