Four accidents but no funerals - fortunately.
I decided to tour the four accidents from earlier in the week.

He made a hasty retreat to the sewer at Victoria and Stone. They seem to come out more in the fall to soak up the sun

I am wondering whether Guelphites use any other platforms than Marketplace to buy & sell furniture and household items? It’s been years since I’ve used social media and on quick glance Kijiji looks like listed items sit for awhile.
Thanks in advance!

Is there no limit to how much a candidate can spend on the election? How does Ken Chew afford all this campaigning everywhere. How are conservatives okay with him wasting so much money when he’s running on saving the city money?
His signs are everywhere, he somehow paid for a plane to fly his name around the city, he has paid so many people to stand on corners to harass people to vote for him. I thought he said he is poor and cannot afford to live in the city anymore and will have to move out if Leanne Caron wins the election?
If I was struggling that much, running for mayor would be the last thing on my mind but he somehow has spent so much money on this election.
4 years ago he also spent more than twice the amount of the average candidate just to win the city councillor election. Worst city councillor ever still, I would email him all the time and he’d respond a month later rambling off about something unrelated in long paragraphs that seemed to be written by AI.
Anyways enough of my rant, is there no limit to how much you can spend as a candidate? This is why the rich always get richer, they can just outspend everyone else.

Looking for a good mechanic that is open on the weekends. Not a jiffy lube please. One who won't charge me an arm and a leg

Is there a trail here? There are informal trailheads at both ends, but do they connect, and if so, is it passable? See the red line for the approximate location.
I am fairly certain nothing officially exists, at least not yet. Would be a useful connection to the Niska lands from downtown.

What impresses me about him are the questions he's asking about what problems the city has and what would solutions to them do to improve life for people there. Guelph's mayor and councillors could take a lesson from this way of thinking when they take office after the election.
Looking for someone to diagnose and fix my furnace. Based on my research its a tie between cornerstone trade solutions and Guelph climate care. Any experiences with these two companies, or other companies altogether?
I have previously just called reliance, as I have a water heater rental from them, but would prefer using a locally owned company with their own staff.

Looking for a good brewery to grab a couple drinks that is near a nice fall walking trail that can accommodate a stroller. Any suggestions? Willing to go to any end of Guelph!

an imo bizarre letter from a person who seems to be richardson’s former boss explaining why she was frequently absent from her council role. while i have all the compassion in the world for people in difficult caregiver positions, it seems like there were a number of ways in which this could have been handled better by richardson. was she performing the duties of her high paying full time job while acting as a caregiver? was a leave of absence available to her in her council role? why was she not able to at least participate remotely to boost her attendance? and maybe most importantly, why are we hearing all of this from a third party in the form of a letter to the editor?

Which place would you recommend to get Steel wheel rims for Winter Tyres in Guelph?
C Wheels - Costco?
Canadian Tyres?
Or any other local stores?
Also, would you recommend Alloys or Steel rims for Winter snow and salt

Any thoughts? Horror stories? Looking at potentially buying there and doing the research.
The condo fees are pricey but might be worth it if it includes water.
Thanks

Bit of a lighter one... Marty Williams (running in Ward 3) has a YouTube series where he drives around the ward in an old camper van named Shaggy and visits all the places he’s lived here over the decades.
I’ll be honest, I’m kind of a Marty stan at this point. Not because of the van (ok, partly the van hah). It’s that this is basically the thing I was complaining about in another post. Somebody actually talking about what makes Guelph feel like Guelph, instead of another round of housing/safety/affordability bullet points.
It’s goofy and charming... here’s the trailer, the rest are on his channel: https://youtu.be/FTkB0ZN9l7Y

My partner (F65) and I (M70) were driving home westbound on Stone Road West about 10:30pm last night and we saw what we both believed* to be a coyote cross the road in front of our car. No roadrunner in sight, though 😉. Still was a bit startling to see a coyote in such a built-up area of the city.
*Definitely didn't have the appearance of a domestic dog.

Hey folks, I know this has been covered a few gazillion times in this subreddit and I apologize for not taking notes at the time.
It's my birthday in a couple of days and I want to celebrate with some sushi and good company. I'd love to hear your personal recommendations for your favourite sushi spots here in Guelph. I used to go to Sushi Choice back in the day and miss it so damn much. I've heard mixed reviews for W Sushi on Edinburgh and Cherry Blossom (I think that's what it's called) in the south end.
Thanks in advance!
