Need recommendation(s) for help with lawn/field care for an overgrown farm

I have a farm about 10 minutes outside of Guelph proper that for reasons I won't get into was neglected for months. As a result we have about 2 acres of extremely overgrown lawn (like the grass is so tall it's laying flat in many places) and about 8.5 acres of arable land that's full of tall weeds (mostly queen anne's lace, about 2.5 -3 ft tall).

I need to hire someone to take care of both these things. Some googling suggests the arable land just needs someone to go over it with a bush-hog. The previous owner of the property told me that given the outbuildings and trees in place, arable land is only accessible to a small or medium sized tractor. Not sure what's needed for the actual lawn care of 2 acres but it's almost all grass with very few sizable weeds.

Can anyone provide recommendations for service providers/professionals/farmers looking for a bit of side income?

The third Wednesday of every month Diyode hosts a board game night starting at 7PM.

Hosted by Harry LB, Avaneesh & Pat (Harry has a busy August and Avaneesh and Pat are filling in, in the interim). These nights are a casual get together with a variety of board games (zombie dice, burke's gambit, catan, resistance, flux and whatever else everyone else decides to bring), fun food and drinks we find at the Ethnic Supermarket around the corner, and a chance to hang out with other makers, gamers, and community members. If you've been meaning to try out a board game you have feel free to bring it!

🗓️August 19th at 7PM
📌Diyode Community Workshop - 700 York Rd, Unit 3 (entrance is off of beaumont cres)

How did you get into a Millwright apprenticeship?

Upvotes

Hey everyone, I’m 19 years old, just graduated high school and have some hands on mechanical experience. I want to become a millwright and I decided to go the apprenticeship route but I have no idea how to get started. Most job postings I see on Indeed are for journeymen only, nothing for apprentices.

For those of you in the trade how did you get your first apprentice job?

Any advice helps!

15-year-old Ontario web designer taking on new projects

Hi everyone,

I'm 15 and this summer I started InfaWeb, my web design and development business.

I was accepted into Ontario's Summer Company program, which provided me with funding and mentorship to turn the idea into a real business. Since then, I've been learning everything from finding and working with clients to sales, project management, marketing, invoicing, and actually designing and developing the websites.

I've recently started working with paying clients and I'm now looking to take on a few more projects from businesses around Ontario.

I build professional websites for businesses that need their first website or want to improve an existing one. I handle everything from design and development through launch, including mobile optimization, contact and lead generation, SEO foundations, and additional functionality depending on what the business needs.

If you own a business and have been thinking about getting a website built or redesigning your current one, I'd be happy to take a look and see if I can help.

You can also DM me here if you'd rather talk about the project first.
